Abstract

Kudapan Spesial is a short film that explores the idea that women have equal influence and power as men. Gender, a cultural construct, is acquired and socialized in the family from an early age and is sometimes formed following the dominant culture. This study aims to ascertain how society views the frequent reversal of gender roles in the environment. This study examines how the audience creates meaning for the information communicated by the film Kudapan Spesial, using reception analysis and the constructivism paradigm. The data analysis process involves collecting data from informants, analyzing it, and understanding the dominant message in the film, followed by interviews to identify the informant's position. The study examined the film Kudapan Spesial using Umberto Eco's theory of sign formation and informant interviews. The film Kudapan Spesial was inspired by the director's personal experience of gender role exchange in his family. It features medium-long shots, warm lighting, and a tidy house representing the father's perspective. The film portrays varying perspectives on gender role exchange in Indonesian households, with some viewing it as hindering a wife's potential while others advocate for equal opportunities. The film 'Kudapan Spesial' has alternative concepts that intrigue audiences who view scenes and conflicts differently based on their backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge. The study on gender role interchange in families revealed that exposure to information and debate gained via the internet influences audiences' thinking. Further studies can examine gender roles' predominance in the family from a new perspective.

Abstract

South Korea’s product, K-pop music, is highly popular in Indonesia, making it a part of popular culture. NCT is one of the well-known K-pop boy groups. As a form of loyalty, NCTzens engage in various ways to support NCT, including purchasing merchandise related to their idols. This phenomenon of merchandise consumption has led to the emergence of virtual communities in the form of K-pop Group Orders. This study aims to provide an overview of the cultural consumption of NCT fans through Group Order NCT by Withaechanie on the LINE platform. A qualitative descriptive method with a virtual ethnographic approach is employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The collected data is analyzed based on the four levels of cyber media analysis (AMS). The findings of this study indicate that K-pop Group Orders are not merely economic activities but also serve as spaces for fans to build a collective identity, share information, strengthen their loyalty to idols, and create shared values and norms. Furthermore, this study also discovers the presence of cultural artifacts and an online fan reality interconnected with their real-life (offline) experiences.

Abstract

Margoluwih Village is a village located in Seyegan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta which has 14 hamlets and has potential in the form of agriculture, culture, culinary, and tourism potential. This village is known for its agricultural tourism with a method of combining rice and fish cultivation called Mina Padi, which has been recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) since 2015 and has been used as a model for agricultural management in the Asia Pacific. However, since 2019, the intensity and appeal of mina padi tourism have decreased. This is due to the lack of knowledge and skills of the community in Margoluwih Village in managing the potential of mina padi tourism, as well as the lack of regeneration of mina padi tourism village managers, then the minimal use of digital technology for branding and marketing of tourist villages through social media, the absence of expansion of partnerships with other parties for the development and sustainability of tourism programs, and the absence of regeneration of mina padi tourism managers in Margoluwih Village. Based on the results of environmental observations and interviews, therefore UKM KPM UMY, the Margoluwih Village Government, and the local community collaborated to optimize the potential of rice-fish cultivation in order to strengthen the branding of rice-fish tourism by using the Sustainable Tourism method, namely developing a tourism concept that can provide long-term impacts, both on the environment, social, culture, and economy for the present and future for all local communities and tourists who visit.
