Abstract

Football and journalism are two domains that are closely interrelated. Football sports news developed in various media platform, such as printed, electronic and online media. Football supporters, in general, are active audiences who are intensely consuming sports news. In the context of media literacy, the existence of football supporters as an active audience is a potential for the development of media literacy. The media literacy that be developed in this program is media literacy in the process of media production, namely football journalism writing. Football supporters generally come from young people who have the potential to increase their competence in terms of football journalism, but they have lack access for developing their competence. The solution is to provide assistance and development of media literacy through football journalism activities. This service activity involves Indonesian Fandom as a partner. Activities carried out in this community service program are training, workshops and mentoring for writing football journalism. There were twenty-five participants who participated in this activity. The results of the activity in the form of articles, which in general the theme is about local football, edited by partners. Articles that have been edited are then compiled into one text book entitled Merawat Sepakbola Indonesia (Caring for Indonesian Football). The book was successfully printed as many as two hundred copies, and sold through networks owned by partners, and involved workshop participants as resellers. Thus, this program has succeeded in increasing football literacy among supporters, and fostering entrepreneurial networks of supporters through the publishing and distribution of book sales.

Abstract

A recent natural disasters that gained extensive news coverage and public concern in Indonesia is the earthquake that occurred in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, in early August. Initially, local authorities stated that the earthquake on Lombok Island on 5 August 2018 was at an M 6.8 scale. However, the scale was later revised to M 7.0. This research used descriptive-qualitative case study method. Research result proved that the technological advances that have brought human civilisation to Industry 4.0 have a significant contribution to disaster mitigation. In the disaster that occurred in West Nusa Tenggara, researchers found that the government, disaster mitigation and recovery agencies, journalists, and the public used internet chat-based digital technology to conduct effective coordination. However, Industry 4.0 technology still has limitations in terms of disaster mitigation. Researchers suggest that the issues be addressed using industry 5.0, a technology based on the internet of things.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, face-to-face learning activities in schools had to stop. The problem faced by Muhammadiyah elementary school Al-Mujahidin Wonosari, Gunungkidul is that there is no audio-based learning media available online. To overcome this problem, the activities carried out are to train teachers to master the competence of educational podcast production. Media that is auditive, attracts the interest of the younger generation, and is easy to produce is the advantage of podcasts. Service activities were carried out through workshops and educational podcast production practices using the Anchor.fm application. At the end of this activity, it was revealed that the teachers were able to master the production of podcasts for learning media.

Abstract

TK ABA Kalangan berada di desa Baturetno, Banguntapan, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Letak TK ABA Kalangan sebenarnya strategis karena berada di perbatasan Kabupaten Bantul, Kota Yogyakarta dan Kabupaten Sleman. Namun demikian, jumlah siswa dari sekolah ini tahun ke tahun terus mengalami penurunan. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya informasi terkait TK ABA Kalangan di lingkungan sekitar dan kurangnya informasi tentang sekolah di dunia maya. Padahal, persaingan saat ini membutuhkan dibutuhkan penyampaian informasi yang massif tentang sekolah dalam bentuk promosi yang progresif, baik lewat iklan luar ruang atau media digital. Hal ini karena orang tua siswa mengetahui keberadaan sebuah sekolah dari iklan yang terpampang di jalan dan media online. Berangkat dari dua persoalan ini, maka program pengabdian ini difokuskan pada peningkatan promosi sekolah melalui iklan luar ruang dan publikasi di media digital, dengan menggunakan metode FGD, kemudian diikuti pendampingan membuat konten iklan luar ruang dan membuat rilis berita sampai mempublikasikannya di media digital. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah terpasangnya iklan luar ruang sekolah dan bertambahnya publikasi terkait informasi sekolah dalam bentuk berita di media digital.

Abstract

The Muhammadiyah Gamping Special School (SLB) in Sleman is an inclusive school founded in 2012. The Muhammadiyah Gamping SLB was built to facilitate a place of learning for children who have deficiencies or disabilities. The problems faced by SLB Muhammadiyah Gamping are not yet known to the public and have never been reported by the media. In fact, inclusive schools are a necessity for some members of society. The solution to the problems faced by SLB Muhammadiyah Gamping is to develop publications about the school's work through mass media. The science and technology used in this service are user-generated content technology and digital journalism. Activities were carried out with digital journalism workshops and operational assistance for user-generated content. Sustainability means that the school can continue to write news after the service is completed. The implementation results exceeded the target with 28 news stories, from the initial target of 12 news stories for the SLB Muhammadiyah Gamping journalism brand.

Abstract

This study analyzes digital transformation in advertising strategies. A search using the keywords “Digital Transformation” and “Advertising” in the Scopus database yielded 114 documents. Using the PRISMA method, the researchers applied inclusion criteria, selecting articles, conference papers, book chapters, conference reviews, books, and reviews available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Russian. This bibliometric analysis identified key themes, such as “Digital Transformation,” “Advertising,” and “Artificial Intelligence,” with the United States and Germany as the most influential countries. Eight thematic clusters were identified, such as digital transformation based on data and technology, digital business management, digital marketing strategy, data-driven marketing automation, technology, and workforce management, digital innovation in sustainable marketing, technology integration and professional skills development, communication in digital marketing, and the impact of COVID-19 on marketing models. This pioneering bibliometric study provides essential insights for academics and professionals aiming to understand current advancements in digital transformation within advertising. Companies are encouraged to integrate artificial intelligence into digital campaigns to improve personalization and effectiveness in advertising strategies.

Abstract

The launch of the Apple iPhone in 2007 marked the start of a new era in a new process for understanding the meaning of cellular communication. This gave rise to the practice of mobile journalism which uses fully mobile devices (Mojo) as the main instrument for 21st-century journalists in processing and producing an event. Especially in Indonesia, the author sees that studies on Mojo in Indonesian media are something new for academics and practitioners. The Tribune with the hashtag #MataLokalMenreachIndonesia is the only Online News Portal that has the largest regional news channel network in Indonesia that has adopted Mojo's practice in its editorial. This study explores Mojo's practice at Tribun Jogja by using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews with related journalists. Based on the findings, the author sees that this media uses Facebook Live and the news is used as further information that will be used as news on other platforms at Tribun Jogja. With the characteristics of agile, flexibility, and accessibility, this Mojo practice can produce news with on-demand and just-in-time principles anytime, anywhere, however.

Abstract

This research aims to identify ethical violations in the advertisement of "BATARA Treatment," using a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that the Batara medicine advertisement has violated the Indonesia Advertising Ethics and the Consumer Protection Law, particularly regarding claims about treatment results that can be directly observed on-site and the placement of the advertisement, which does not comply with aesthetic rules and public order. This research highlights the importance of ethics in advertising to protect consumers.

Abstract

Context of this study derived from communication studies, emphasizes on the perspective of a cultural shift as a result of the cyberspace phenomenon as an impact of the current-computing technology, and the changing patterns of information transmission and communication. Researchers conducted indepth interviews, towards the members of a bloggers community, such as 'Komunitas Blogger Jogja' (bloggerjogja.org), and 'Loenpia Dot Net' (loenpia.net/blog) which is a bloggers community based in Semarang.This research use qualitative analysis with descriptive approach.As results, group dynamics that are developed by each community, corresponds with the community character and nature, to maintain the self-existence. Member of bloggers community maintain the existence of his/her bloggers community, conducted by interacting on a regular basis amongst community members, as well as build awareness for the netizens by upload various information on his/her personal blog, linked with community web page.
