Abstract

The research aimed to strengthen the future sense of place by focusing on the sense of place components, namely, physical, social, personal, and shared meaning aspects, as input to local stakeholders. The sense of place of Borobudur Temple stimulated visitors to attend the tourism area at the heritage site, whose potential could be strengthened by promoting the local creative economy and its identity. The research provided theoretical benefits as a basis for further research and practical benefits as input for stakeholders to strengthen the identity of heritage areas. The research was a solution to preserving the historical value of this region in both physical and social aspects in order to strengthen the place’s character as the stalwart of the Borobudur area as a world heritage artifact. The discoveries would clear up the area’s function as Borobudur’s shopping excursion area in a local identity context. Data were collected through structured observation, in-depth online interviews, photos, videos, literature studies, and a manual data analysis procedure. The results show that physical attributes, such as site, build form, and landmark, need improvements. Moreover, social interaction, pedestrian flows, product, personal and shared meanings, comprising history, narration, and event and promotion, should be improved. Further studies should focus on how to improve architecture, modern product variations, and local music. Furthermore, the sense of place will be increased by understanding the services cape of Borobudur Food and Craft Market.

Abstract

Daycare play an important role in the growth and development of children who are active in it, because its main function is as a place to play and learn for children. It is important that daycare are designed according to the need for child-friendly spaces to create conditions that are comfortable and safe for children. This community service would like to be involved in creating a child-friendly space in one of the daycare, Griya Anak in Surabaya. This activity is carried out in several stages, namely preparation in the form of field observations, planning, namely designing the space used as the main activity in Griya Anak, counseling about child-friendly spaces and discussion of design results, then implementing rearranging and providing furniture needed to support the activities in Griya Anak. The results of this activity include the creation of a main activity space design at Griya Anak that is more comfortable and safer for children, and effective for the flow of activities carried out by the Griya Anak management, as well as the fulfillment of the need for appropriate furniture to support activities at Griya Anak.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Suhu dan kelembapan dalam ruang pengolahan dan distribusi merupakan hal penting yang harus diperhatikan. Suhu dan kelembapan ruangan yang baik akan menjaga makanan agar terhindar dari aktivitas mikroorganisme. Suhu dan kelembapan juga menjadi hal penting bagi penjamah makanan agar tetap merasa aman dan nyaman pada saat bekerja.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran suhu dan kelembapan udara pada ruangan pengolahan dan distribusi di Instalasi Gizi RSUD Kabupaten Sidoarjo.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cohort retrospektif. Pengambilan data dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali sehari yaitu pagi ( sekitar pukul 10.00), siang (sekitar pukul 14.00) sore (sekitar pukul 17.00), dan malam (sekitar pukul 19.00). Penelitian suhu dan kelembapan dilakukan di ruang pengolahan dan distribusi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara melihat laporan penilaian ketepatan suhu dan kelembapan pada bulan april, mei, juli dan agustus yang telah diobservasi sebanyak 4 kali sehari.Hasil: Suhu di ruang pengolahan dan ruang distribusi lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan standar rumah sakit yakni antara 25-27°C. Akan tetapi, apabila dibandingkan dengan standar Permenkes, suhu masih tergolong aman. Kelembapan udara di ruang pengolahan masih berada dalam standar, namun di ruang distribusi kelembapan udara lebih tinggi dari standar rumah sakit dan permenkes, yakni 40-70%.Kesimpulan: Suhu dan kelembapan udara di ruang pengolahan dan distribusi sudah memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan.Kata kunci: Suhu, Kelembapan, Ruang Pengolahan, Ruang Distribusi

Abstract

Griya anak adalah tempat penitipan anak dan sekaligus pendidikan anak usia dini di Kecamatan Rungkut, Surabaya. Griya anak memiliki visi menjadi partner orang tua yang terpercaya dalam mendidik anak-anak sehingga berkembang dan bertumbuh sesuai tingkat perkembangannya baik secara fisik, mental, psikologis dan spiritual. Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada Griya Anak adalah terbatasnya pengetahuan staf tentang penyakit menular anak, tumbuh kembang anak dan belum ada ruang peralihan dari luar ke dalam ruang Griya Anak untuk meminimalisir terjadinya infeksi dari luar. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan solusi atas permasalahan yang dihadapi Griya Anak dengan memberikan edukasi cara pencegahan penyakit menular pada anak, cara memantau tumbuh kembang anak, dan membuat ruang peralihan untuk pencegahan infeksi dari luar. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan, diskusi, pendampingan, membuat desain dan membuat ruangan pencegahan infeksi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan staf untuk deteksi dini penyakit menular dan gangguan tumbuh kembang anak serta pencegahannya dan tersedianya ruang pencegahan infeksi di Griya Anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keunikan tempat atau sense of place dari Pasar Barang Antik Triwindo Surakarta, khususnya pada faktor fisik dan sosialnya. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilaksanakan dengan pengambilan data melalui focus group discussion pengunjung, studi literatur dan dokumen, observasi dan dokumentasi visual. Informan dalam  focus group discussion berjumlah 11 orang yaitu pengelola, pengunjung dan juga pedagang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor faktor-faktor  fisik  pembentuk sense of place Pasar Triwindu  adalah arsitektur dan kawasan (fasad bangunan menggambarkan arsitektur rumah Jawa, kawasan Ngarsopuro yang unik, ornamen ukiran khas Jawa pada fasad, patung Roro Blonyo pada gerbang pasar dan patung topeng pada halaman), interior (pengelompokan area berdasarkan jenis barang dagangan, display barang dagangan pada elemen ruang dinding, pembatas lapak, tangga dan plafon, batas lapak pada lantai, signage, lebar koridor), dan varian produk dagangan. Sedangkan faktor sosial adalah history dan memory, narasi pohon sawo kecik, karakter pedagang dan pengunjung, aktivitas even kuliner dan promosi.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the representation of a sense of place for a traditional shopping place on social media, both in the form of visual and narrative media. The research object was the Malioboro shopping area as represented on social media posts. The theoretical contribution of this research is as a literature review on the representation of sense of place in the Malioboro shopping area, while the practical contribution of this research is as a reference for policymakers or the government in formulating the development policy of traditional shopping streets on social media. This research was qualitative in nature, with Instagram as the data source. All posts and videos with captions were analyzed to explore the Malioboro Corridor’s physical attributes, social activities, and shared meaning. Abstract

This study aims to find and define interiority as an initiative to preserve culture and traditions in Sade Village, Lombok Island, a tourist area in Indonesia. This study adopted qualitative research with the case study method, recording several data sources through field observation, literature studies, archives, and in-depth interviews with community leaders. This study identifies the typology of areas that create psychological, form-based, atmospheric, and programmatic interiority (Teston, 2020) in various configurations. This study found the types of interiorities in Sade Village that contribute to the corridor’s uniqueness, visitors’ feeling of insideness, and the area’s maintenance. Five categories of interiority, namely psychological, form-based, atmospheric, programmatic, and narrative interiority were found in the corridor of Sade Village. The finding on narrative interiority refers to the philosophy of social life of the local community, producing interiority by the meaningful ancient tradition and local beliefs. This study would contribute to increasing awareness of the inherent cultural values of Sade Village to strengthen the image of the area and its tourism potential.

Abstract

Mellaca Eatery is a restaurant with a Malaysian specialty located in Malang. In this project, the owner wants a refresh and a new concept for the restaurant that will be built in Jl. Bukit Dieng Permai. The owner wants this new restaurant to reflect more about “Kota Melaka” but on the other hand it can still maintain the DNA of the old restaurant that was dominated by an Industrial Style. Therefore, in this project the Sense of Place design approach is the ideal approach. In the Sense of Place approach, the atmosphere in the restaurant can be formed from the images, forms, and activities. The design style applied as the main image / theme for this restaurant is a combination of Industrial and Peranakan Style which is authentic in Malaysia. This main theme is shown through the use of materials, furniture, color palette, and accessories in the interior spaces. Meanwhile from an architectural perspective, the effort made is to combine various types of Historicism Building and Elements such as the famous Christ Church in Melaka, the Shophouses, and the ambience of Jonker Street to give the impression of Sense of Place on the shape of the building. In this project, the building is also designed to encourage activities such as a demonstration area for “Roti Canai” & “The Tarik” and many instagrammable spots filled with murasl depicting the sense of place of “Kota Melaka”. Through a combination of images, forms and activities, a Sense of Place will be formed in Mellaca Eatery.

Abstract

Adanya perkembangan dari masa ke masa telah menimbulkan banyak perubahan tidak hanya dalam sisi teknologi tetapi juga adanya perubahan budaya yang diakibatkan dari globalisasi tersebut. Sebagai contoh adalah berkembangnya budaya atau gaya hidup saling bekerja sama dengan berkumpul dan bersantai untuk bisa bertahan dalam dunia kerja. Budaya tersebut dapat mendukung faktor terbentuknya konsep ruang kerja bersama dan juga kedai kopi yang digabung dalam suatu konsep baru yang unik dan fenomenal. Perkembangan budaya di Indonesia khususnya di Surabaya menunjukkan bahwa banyak yang memiliki budaya untuk mengopi. Keadaan ini datang dari berbagai kalangan yang ditandai dengan bertambahnya konsep kedai kopi yang ada. Dari perkembangan kedai kopi inilah akan terbentuk budaya baru yang menggabungkan mengopi sekaligus bekerja untuk membentuk suasana yang lebih santai. Hasil dari pembentukan budaya tersebut akan terlihat dengan adanya penambahan tingkat kedai kopi di berbagai tempat di daerah perkotaan Surabaya yang menyediakan tempat untuk bisa bersantai dan bekerja dalam waktu bersamaan untuk menyesuaikan dengan gaya hidup yang ada di jaman modern ini.
