Abstract

Several natural materials containing silica have been widely used to synthesize silica nanoparticles such as bagasse, rice husks, which can be in the form of dry and non consumable strands that function as inner protectors in the form of endospermium and embryos. Tibarau sugarcane is one of the renewable organic materials. The synthesis of silica nanoparticles from sudden sugarcane skin tibarau using the sol-gel method has been carried out, therefore we need to synthesize them from renewable materials as well. One of the renewable materials is organic. Different base materials require different reactions. One of the different synthesis is husk ash wherein, husk ash has amorphous phase characteristics ranging from 20-25o. The results of the synthesis of silica nanoparticles the effect of pH on the yield of silica gel, obtained the optimum pH at pH 8 and the results of the synthesis were characterized by FTIR to determine the functional groups containing silanol and siloxane functional groups and XRD to determine the crystallinity and the formed phase at 2θ = 31,7. Silica nanoparticles from sugarcane husk suddenly have a crystalline phase as well as an amorphous phase.

Abstract

Synthesis of Copper Tin Oxide (CuSnO3) was carried out using the sol-gel method with varying calcination temperatures (400; 500; 600) oC. The aim of this research is to find out how the calcination temperature affects the synthesis results of the CuSnO3 semiconductor. Then characterization was carried out using the UV-Drs instrument to obtain band gap values and SEM to determine the morphological structure. The CuSnO3 solution was made by dissolving SnCl2.2H2O and CuCl2.2H2O with a molar ratio of 1:1 in 50 mL of methanol solvent and homogenizing then adding 1 mL of the additive Diethylamine (DEA). The gel can be calcined at various temperatures to produce CuSnO3 powder. The research results explain that increasing temperature during calcination can reduce the band gap value of the synthesized CuSnO3 semiconductor material. The surface morphology of CuSnO3 powder at 1000x magnification shows clearly that the surface has cavities (hollows) with a chunk diameter of 7-11 nm.

Abstract

Silicon is one of the materials whose utilization is getting bigger along with the times. Hydrothermal reduction method is one of the methods that can be done to synthesize silicon from natural materials because silicon does not exist freely in nature. The purpose of this research is to synthesize silicon using hydrothermal reduction method. The precursor used in the reduction process is silica (SiO2). The metal used as a reductant is magnesium metal and the molten salt that can be used is AlCl3. The reduction process is carried out by varying the reduction temperature to see the degree of crystallinity of silicon formed. Silicon formed is seen at the peak of  28.44, 47.30, 56.11, 69.13 dan 76.38.

Abstract

Porous silica is a solid silica material for chemical sensors. Porous materials can be divided into 3 categories based on pore size, namely microporous material with pore size less than 2 nm, mesoporous pore between 2 to 50 nm, and macropores with a pore size of more than 50 nm.This research was conducted to synthesize porous silica using sodium silicate with variations of snakehead fish skin gelatin (3% and 4%) using the sol-gel method. Snakehead fish skin gelatin was characterized using FTIR and porous silica was characterized using XRD and SEM. The results of the FTIR test on snakehead fish skin gelatin show that there are indicates that snakehead fish skin gelatin contains amide, carboxyl and carbonyl groups which can interact with sodium silicate. Characterization of porous silica using XRD shows that the resulting porous silica is crystalline. Meanwhile, SEM characterization shows a regular morphology at 4% which has the highest crystallinity and branched tube morphology.

Abstract

Previous research result on porous silics have obtained fine silica precipitate with a purity of 70,6% and a partticle size of 300-1000 nm. As the application of porous silica increases, research is also developing, one example is mesoporous silica. Mesoporous silica can be used in various fields such as catalysts, drug delivery, adsorption, chromatography and others. This research was conducted to synthesize silica with catfish skin gelatin surfactant. Gelatin was characterized by FTIR to see the functional groups that make up gelatin. The resulting silica was characterized using XRD to determine the crystal structure and SEM to determine the morphology of the silica. The results of the FTIR test on catfish skin gelatin showed 4 absorption areas, namely Amide A, Amide I, Amide II and Amide III. Silica characterization using XRD shows crystalline crystals. Meanwhile, SEM characterization shows regular morphology. SL4% has the highest crystallinity and branched tube shape morphology.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the supporting factors for achieving learning objectives. One of the learning media used is Powerpoint media. the type of research used is research and development or Research and Development (R&D). This study aims to develop a guided inquiry-based powerpoint interactive learning media on chemical equilibrium material and reveal its validity and practicality as a chemistry learning medium. The development model used in this study is a 4-D model (define, design, develop and disseminate). The stages that are carried out are only up to the develop stage. The study was conducted at SMAN 2 Lubuk Basung. The learning media developed were assessed by 9 validators, and practicality was assessed by 2 chemistry teachers and 27 students of class XII MIPA. Based on the research that has been carried out, it is found that the content validation and construct validation of the learning media developed have a high validity category with the Aiken's V formula of 0.90399 and 0.92857 and the practicality of learning media based on the practicality questionnaire of the teacher's response is 91.05556 and student responses of 94.2469 with very practical category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi hidrokarbon untuk SMK Fase E, jurusan Teknik Kimia Industri (TKI) di SMTI Padang. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah peserta didik kesulitan memahami materi hidrokarbon yang bersifat abstrak dan belum tersedianya bahan ajar yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4D, meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate.Uji validitas dilakukan oleh tiga orang dosen kimia FMIPA UNP dan tiga orang guru DDTKI SMTI Padang. Uji praktikalitas dilakukan oleh tiga orang guru DDTKI dan 22 orang peserta didik fase F SMTI Padang. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket wawancara, validitas, dan praktikalitas. Hasil analisis validitas menghasilkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,88 yang tergolong valid. Hasil uji praktikalitas menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD sangat praktis dengan nilai rata-rata 92,78% dari guru dan 92,59% dari peserta didik. Dengan demikian, e-LKPD berbasis PBL pada materi hidrokarbon untuk SMK fase E dinyatakan valid dan sangat praktis

Abstract

Nagari Paninjauan, located on the slopes of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra, faces significant agricultural challenges, particularly due to rising chemical fertilizer costs, which affect productivity and farmers' welfare. High dependency on chemical fertilizers has also harmed soil health and the environment. To address this, a community service team from UNP held a training on producing organic liquid fertilizer (POC) tailored for various plant growth stages, such as soil enhancement, vegetative, and generative phases, as well as making organic growth regulators, fungicides, and insecticides. The training included material presentation, hands-on practice, and application in farming fields. Results showed participants’ understanding of POC production rose from 43.8% to 86.7%, and awareness of agricultural waste’s economic value also improved. Although the training effectively increased farmers' skills in independently producing POC, further strategies are needed to enhance understanding of technical materials for greater environmental and economic impact. Abstract

Materi sistem koloid merupakan materi yang dipelajari di kelas XI SMA/MA pada semester genap. Hasil wawancara beberapa guru kimia di MAN 1 Kota Padang menyatakan bahwa bahan ajar pada materi sistem koloid cenderung berpusat pada pendidik dan hanya menampilkan 2 dari 3 level representasi kimia, sehingga peserta didik cenderung pasif. Materi sistem koloid bersifat faktual dan teoritis, oleh karena itu diperlukannya media pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk menguji tingkat keefektifan media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi sistem koloid terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MAN 1 Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil analisis data yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai n-gain yang tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol mendapatkan skor sedang. Keputusan pada uji hipotesis yaitu H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut artinya penggunaan media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi sistem koloid efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.
