Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat mahasiswa Departemen Tata Rias dan Kecantikan Universitas Negeri Padang dalam berwirausaha, meskipun mereka memiliki keterampilan di bidang makeup. Survei awal terhadap 25 mahasiswa angkatan 2021 menunjukkan bahwa hanya 40% telah menjalankan usaha makeup freelance, 50% berminat namun belum memulai, dan 10% tidak berminat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-efficacy dan dukungan keluarga terhadap minat wirausaha makeup freelance, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel sebanyak 88 mahasiswa yang diambil melalui teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara daring melalui kuesioner Google Form, dan analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi parsial serta simultan dengan bantuan SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang sangat kuat dan signifikan antara self-efficacy dan minat wirausaha (r = 0,808; p < 0,05), serta antara dukungan keluarga dan minat wirausaha (r = 0,801; p < 0,05). Secara simultan, keduanya juga memiliki hubungan signifikan terhadap minat wirausaha (r = 0,447; p < 0,05). Dengan demikian, peningkatan self-efficacy dan dukungan keluarga penting dalam mendorong mahasiswa untuk memulai usaha makeup freelance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya keterlibatan pria dalam profesi Make Up Artist (MUA) di Kota Padang, yang memunculkan beragam persepsi konsumen wanita terkait kualitas layanan yang diberikan. Dalam industri kecantikan, kualitas jasa menjadi faktor penting yang memengaruhi keputusan konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi konsumen wanita terhadap kualitas layanan MUA pria berdasarkan lima dimensi SERVQUAL: keandalan (reliability), daya tanggap (responsiveness), jaminan (assurance), empati (empathy), dan bukti fisik (tangibles). Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan survei terhadap 65 responden wanita yang pernah menggunakan jasa MUA pria di Kota Padang, dipilih secara purposive sampling dari populasi 184 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert dan dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif menggunakan SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi konsumen berada pada kategori sangat baik di semua dimensi, dengan Total Persentase Responden (TPR) sebagai berikut: reliability 82,12%, responsiveness 84,31%, assurance 86,65%, empathy 85,26%, dan tangibles 79,81%. Dimensi assurance memperoleh nilai tertinggi, mencerminkan kepercayaan pada pengetahuan dan profesionalisme MUA pria. Disarankan agar MUA pria mempertahankan kualitas teknis dan meningkatkan hubungan personal untuk memperkuat kepercayaan serta kenyamanan konsumen.

Abstract

The study background related to the students' collaborative competence in digital learning is still relatively low. The objective of this study is to examine the elements influencing collaborative competence. The study involved 107 cosmetology and beauty education students. The method used was a survey with data collection using questionnaires developed based on predetermined variable indicators. The analysis of data employed Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with Smart PLS 4.0 software. The SEM results describe the Convergent Validity (Loading Factor and Average Variance Extracted) and Discriminant Validity (Fornell Larcker Criterion and Cross Loading), which states that the measurement model is valid. Furthermore, the Composite reliability and Cronbach's Alpha conclude that the measurement model is reliable. The analysis results indicate a positive and significant correlation of predictor variables, including project-based learning, social media, instructional approach, and material relevance to collaborative competence. Based on the variable analysis, material relevance becomes the highest aspect, followed by project-based learning, which increases the collaborative competence of students. Conversely, social media as a mediator variable weakens the level of correlation of the predictor variables to collaborative competence. This study contributes to understanding factors affecting students' collaborative competence in digital learning environments, with significant implications for educators, institutions, and policymakers in shaping digital learning frameworks enhancing collaborative competence. Future research, including longitudinal studies, could investigate the lasting impact of digital learning environments on developing collaborative competence over time.

Abstract

The research background is the rapid development of makeup and beauty industry in the social media era that is highly competitive. The study aims to explore the industry's development and its characters, the specialized entrepreneurial strategies, and the influence of social media on this industry. The methodology employed in this research is a semi-systematic literature review. The analytical approach utilized incorporates a meta-narrative framework, encompassing stages such as identifying, analyzing, and identifying patterns and themes related to the topic. The results describe that the characters of makeup and beauty industry includes highly competitive, ever-changing trends, consumer-centric, seasonal and limited-edition products, diverse product range. Furthermore, the role of social media and specialized entrepreneurial strategies related to the influencer collaborations, community building, personalized beauty, virtual beauty consultations, user-generated content, social commerce, online beauty classes, virtual events and live streams. Finally, the challenges of social media on entrepreneurial strategies associated with the policy and algorithm changes, negative feedback and criticism, data privacy and security.

Abstract

This research revolves around the challenges faced by students in aligning their career orientation with demands and changes, as many traditional jobs are threatened by AI technology. The aim of this study is to identify trends in the transformation of students' career orientation in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), map the career challenges for students in the AI era, analyze the skills and competencies required, and assess the role of educational institutions in supporting this career transformation. The research method applied in this study is a systematic literature review. The initial stages involve collecting literature sources from scholarly databases and proceeding with a screening process to select literature relevant to the research focus. Finally, in-depth analysis of selected literature is conducted to identify patterns, trends, and key points related to the research topic. The results of the study describe that the development of AI technology has a significant impact on students' career orientation in higher education. Furthermore, students also face career challenges such as competition with technology, uncertainty about future employment, and skills gaps. To address these challenges, students need to develop technical AI skills, ethical AI understanding, problem-solving abilities, and continuous learning skills to succeed in the AI job market. On the other hand, higher education institutions should play a proactive role in addressing these challenges by developing relevant curricula, organizing training sessions, collaborating with industries, and enhancing AI learning facilities. Further research is suggested to focus on the implementation of these strategies in the specific context of higher education institutions and evaluate their impact on student career preparedness in the evolving AI era.

Abstract

Industri kecantikan dan pernikahan di Indonesia terus menunjukkan perkembangan yang sangat signifikan, seiring meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya penampilan profesional dalam momen pernikahan. Permintaan terhadap jasa tata rias dan busana pengantin yang mampu memadukan tren modern dengan tradisi budaya lokal semakin tinggi, sehingga dibutuhkan tenaga terampil yang memiliki kompetensi teknis sekaligus kemampuan beradaptasi dengan perkembangan digital. Menjawab kebutuhan tersebut, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dan siswa SMKN 2 Bukittinggi dalam bidang tata rias pengantin, penataan busana pengantin, serta pemasaran digital sebagai bentuk penguatan kompetensi vokasional. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan peserta secara aktif melalui tahap pelatihan, praktik langsung, pendampingan intensif, dan refleksi hasil belajar. Materi pelatihan mencakup teknik rias pengantin modern dan adat, penekanan estetika dan kesesuaian budaya dalam penataan busana pengantin Minangkabau, serta strategi pemasaran digital yang efektif melalui platform media sosial seperti Instagram dan TikTok. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan peserta untuk tidak hanya memahami teori, tetapi juga mengaplikasikan keterampilan secara nyata. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan teknis tata rias, kreativitas dalam menciptakan tampilan pengantin profesional, serta kemampuan menghasilkan konten digital untuk promosi jasa kecantikan. Peserta juga menunjukkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam merancang layanan kecantikan sebagai peluang usaha. Selain memberikan manfaat langsung bagi peserta, program ini turut memperkuat kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah vokasi, mendukung implementasi Teaching Factory, serta mempersiapkan lulusan agar lebih siap memasuki industri kecantikan di era digital yang semakin kompetitif.
