Abstract

Student-centered learning and using media and ways that are suitable for the students and using the right technology will make learning more fun. This study aims to look at the effectiveness of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning in Electromechanical Basic Work (EBW) subjects at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. This study used a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design applied to class X TITL A as an experimental class. Data collection was carried out using an objective test with a total of 20 questions. Data were analyzed using classical completeness and gain scores to see the effectiveness of applying ICT-based learning methods. Based on the results of the study, almost all students completed their learning and there was an increase in student learning outcomes in the large category. Thus the application of ICT-based learning methods effectively applied to EBW subjects in class X TITL A SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang.

Abstract

There are many types of learning models, but not all learning models can accommodate the needs of vocational education and the challenges of the 4.0 industrial revolution, namely encouraging critical thinking and developing practical skills. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of using project based learning methods in vocational education. The research method used is a meta-analysis method with secondary data types. The research data was obtained based on the results of the post-test control class and the experimental class from several research articles that used the project based learning method in vocational education. A total of 23 articles were reviewed so that the calculation result data was 1.09 using the effect size (ES) formula. The results obtained indicate that the use of project based learning methods in vocational education has a high effect to be applied in learning. Thus, the project based learning method in technology and vocational education is very effective and appropriate to use in learning to produce students who are ready to compete in the world of work and can open business opportunities.

Abstract

The problem encountered in learning operating system teaching materials majoring in network computer engineering is the lack of creativity in students' thinking skills so that they experience obstacles in the practical process. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest Control Group Design. Data collection techniques using tests. The pre-test was carried out at the beginning to see the students' initial abilities before being given treatment, the post-test was carried out to test the effectiveness or compliance of the application of the treatment. In this study, the data analysis technique used 3 statistical tests, (1) normality test, (2) homogeneity test and (3) hypothesis testing. Through the use of hypothesis testing to show the results of H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with a significance level of 5% so that the value is (P <0.05). The conclusion is that the use of the Flip book Multimedia with the Flipped Classroom approach is able to improve the thinking skills of students majoring in network computer engineering in the operating system subject. So that later research can be applied to other subjects to help the learning process and increase the creativity of vocational high school students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran video pada mata pelajaran instalasi penerangan listrik yang valid, praktis dan efektif sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 yang diterapkan di SMK N 2 Lubuk Basung. Subjek penelitian yaitu media pembelajaran video kelas XI TKL di SMK. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D (four-D). Model pengembangan 4-D mempunyai empat tahap dalam pengembangannya, yaitu tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop), dan tahap penyebaran (disseminate). Hasil penenelitian yang diperoleh dari validitas media video pembelajaran yang diisi oleh 2 orang ahli materi dan 2 orang ahli media. Berdasarkan uji oleh tim validator ahli materi diperoleh nilai validasi rata-rata 0,90 dengan kategori valid, sedangkan hasil yang diperoleh dari penilaian validasi media adalah 0,91 dengan kategori valid. Uji Praktikalitas yang diisi oleh 2 guru memperoleh tingkat pencapaian rata-rata 90,6% dengan kategori sangat praktis, dan oleh siswa memperoleh tingkat pencapaian rata-rata 88,27% dengan kategori praktis. Uji efektivitas terdiri dari delapan orang siswa yang meliputi post-test memperoleh tingkat pencapaian 88% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran video pada mata pelajaran instalasi penerangan adalah valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Variable speed control of wind turbine generator systems have been developed to get maximum output power at every wind speed variation, also called Maximum Power Points Tracking (MPPT). Generally, MPPT control system consists of MPPT algorithm to track the controller reference and generator speed controller. In this paper, MPPT control system is proposed for low speed wind turbine generator systems (WTGs) with MPPT algorithms based on optimum tip speed ratio (TSR) and generator speed controller based on field oriented control using type-2 fuzzy system (T2FS). The WTGs are designed using horizontal axis wind turbines to drive permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG). The simulation show that the MPPT system based optimum TSR has been able to control the generator output power around the maximum point at all wind speeds.

Abstract

This study aims to see the impact of applying the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model to the learning outcomes of class X students majoring in Electric Power Installation Engineering (TTL), amounting to 30 people. The achievement of student learning outcomes in knowledge competence is still disappointing with an average student score of 57.6. One of the reasons is the teacher-centered learning techniques still being applied by the teacher. As a result, students have difficulty in understanding the material which results in students' dislike for certain subjects. This study uses an experimental method with pre-experimental type One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in student learning outcomes in knowledge competencies with an average of 73.13. Based on the results of the analysis of the formula effect size can be seen the results of the pretest with a posttest worth 1.43 with the category of Large (Large Effect)

Abstract

This research discusses the Study of Data Needs Analysis of PSPTEUNP Program Graduates in Accordance with AUN QA Criteria. This study aims to determine how the expected alumni data needs for PSPTE UNP graduates are in accordance with the AUN QA criteria. This research is a type of field research (field research) with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is used to obtain deep data, data that contains meaning. Qualitative research is research that produces analytical procedures that do not use statistical analysis procedures or other quantification methods. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and verification. Based on the results of research on the need for data tracking of PSPTE graduates. From the results of the data obtained, graduates must have the latest innovations to open job opportunities for others related to their knowledge. The development of the latest industrial technology has also become a thought for graduates to be able to compete to become the needed experts. Based on the results of research data on data needs for graduates of the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program in accordance with the AUN-QA criteria. From several informants' opinions regarding the data needed by graduates, they do not meet the AUN-QA criteria.

Abstract

Electric motor installation learning in Vocational High School (SMK) is often problematic because students have not been able to adapt to the self-directed learning system implemented by teachers. In addition, the media used in the self-learning process is still less effective, because it only uses learning modules. Therefore, students have difficulty in understanding the subject matter of the installation of electric motors. The purpose of this research is to create Learning media based on Augmented Reality that is feasible for electric motor installation subjects. Developed learning media are equipped with manuals and markers. This research uses Research and Development (R & D) method using a 4-D model through four stages namely stage I (define), stage II (design), stage III (develop), and stage IV (disseminate). Learning media based on AR was tested on 28 students of SMK Negeri 1 Padang at grade XI TITL A and 29 students at grade XI TITL B. The results of the average feasibility test of grade XI TITL A and grade XI TITL B were 86.63% in the highest feasible category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited teaching materials that lead students to understand more easily in the practical learning process. The practical subject of Electromechanical Basic Work is one of the subjects at SMKN 1 Tilatang Kamang in the Electrical Power Installation Engineering Department. One of the factors that support the smooth implementation of practicum is the availability of a jobsheet as a guide in practice In this study, a jobsheet was developed to obtain a valid and practical jobsheet to use for basic electromechanical work practice. Jobsheet development is carried out based on the 4D development research method, which includes defining, designing, developing and disseminating stages. The validity of the jobsheets is evaluated through media and material experts, while the practicality of the jobsheets is evaluated through users. The validity and practicality of the jobsheet were tested using a questionnaire. The results showed that the jobsheets developed for the subject of Basic Electromechanical Work were feasible to use. This can be seen from the results of practicality tests and validity tests that have been carried out. The results of the validity test of the three validators obtained an average score of 0.79 validity value in the valid category, while the practicality test results from the teacher obtained a score of 91.4 with the very practical category. From the results of this assessment, it can be interpreted that the job sheet media for Basic Electromechanical Work is suitable for use as a learning resource for class X students of Electrical Power Installation Engineering.
