Abstract

The aim of this study is to produce dictionary based on smartphone operating system in Biology material class XI in Senior High School. The method of research and development adapted from Borg and Gall model. The results of the assessment needed could be concluded that students supported the dictionary based on smartphone operating system’s development. Subject expert, media, and linguist score were 82,33%; 82,85%; and 80%. The average trial test result to students was 76,70% and to Biology teacher was 82,75%. The conclusion is the biology dictionary has very good interpretation level.Keywords: biology dictionary, smartphone, Biology material class XI

Abstract

ABSTRACT Prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus rapidly increase in industry and developing country. Oxidative stress was estimated has role in development of type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study was aim to measure levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus, and also to analyse the relationship among both. This study was conducted on July-October 2014, using Ex Post Facto method and cross sectional design. The result showed that MDA serum levels significantly higher in diabetes mellitus patient compare to normal (P=0,000). Activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in diabetes mellitus serum has no significant difference with normal (P=0,290).There was possitive correlation between levels of MDA and activity of SOD in type 2 diabetes mellitus but not significant (P=0,478) with rs=0,199, thus also in normal subject (P=0,194) with rs=0,355. There was no significant different between two correlation coefficient (P=0,6781). In conclusion, there was significant different level of MDA, there was no significant different activity of SOD, there was positive correlation but not significant between levels of MDA and activity of SOD serum in type 2 diabetes mellitus and normal. Abstract

Background: The Thousand Islands is a collection of islands that support the life of various types of birds. The islands in the Thousand Islands are inhabited by a variety of birds, especially waterbirds and shorebirds. Methods: Data were obtained through literature study from research articles. Results: The results of the literature show that Pramuka Island has a bird diversity index of 2.4334 and is the highest value among other islands in the Thousand Islands. Conclusion: Several islands in the Thousand Islands, which include Rambut Island, Pramuka Island, Opak Besar Island, Bulat Island, Genteng Besar Island, Putri Barat Island, Bintang Island, Kaliage Island, Kotok Island, Harapan Island, and Melintang Besar Island. has a diversity that is included in the medium category. The highest bird diversity is found on Pramuka Island (H' = 2.4334), but the highest balance is found on Pamegaran Island (E = 0.8007) which is quite wide and undisturbed.

Abstract

Analytical Thining Skills is one of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Students are required to have Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) based on Curiculum 2013. Analytical Thining Skills was needed in the process solving a problem in learning process. One of the most difficult matter in grade XI Class is immunity System. With a playing Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) dan Discovery Learning hopefully student can improve their analytical thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the influence of POGIL and Discovery Learning toward Student Analytical Thinking Skills On The Matters of Immunity System. This study conducted in 27 Senior High School Jakarta on second semester of academic year 2015/2016 on April until May 2016. The reseach method used was a quasi experiment. The sample was determinate by simple random sampling. Class XI MIA 1 was experiment class Discovery Learning, Class XI MIA 2 was experiment class POGIL, and class XI MIA 3 was control Class. The instrument used was a post-test with objective test formed multiple choice and cause and effect. The normality data test with Kolmogorov-Smirnov and homogeneity test with Uji Bartlett. Base on the statistic test resulted acquired data distribution normal and homogen. Hipotesis test used one way ANAVA test showed the result Ho was rejected on α=0,05. This means that there is influence of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and Discovery Learning toward Student Analytical Thinking Skills On The Matters of Immunity System.

Abstract

Scientific Literacy refers to an individual scientific knowledge and use it to identifiy question, aquire new knowledge, explain scientific phenomena, and draw evidence based conclusion about science related issues. Scientific literacy is the final purpose of learning science for 15 years students. In learning process, students have different modal to achieve the science learning purpose. One of modal that student have named cognitive style. Different cognitive style assumed to be different scientific literacy ability. Cognitive style in this research is according to Witkin and Goodenough (1981) in Altun and Cakan (2006) i.e Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). Purpose of this research is to know the difference scientific literacy ability of students having Field Independent and Field Dependent cognitive style. This research was conducted at SMAN 68 Jakarta in April until Mei 2015. Method use in this research was Ex Post Facto. The sample were 135 X grade High School Students ( 21 FD and 114 FI). The result of prerequisite test use Kolmogorov-smirnov (α = 0,05) and Levene test (α = 0,05) showed the data normally distributed and homogenous. Result of Independent t-test (α = 0,05) showed p value 0,002<0,05 thereby there is the differences between FI and FD on scientific literacy score and level. Students with FI cognitive style obtain higher score than students with FD cognitive style with mean difference 9,849.

Abstract

Monopoly is one of the games that can be applied as a learning media. Modifications of this media were applied so this game intended to informed teacher about students’ cognitive ability and to increase students’ learning stimulus acceptance. The aim of this research was to develop modified monopoly game as learning media on endocrine system. The research was held at Senior High School 1 Jakarta using research and development method. Need assessment, product development, and try-out and revision were the steps in this research. In the try-out and revision step, media expert and material expert were involved as the assessors, meanwhile Biology teacher, and students grade XI at Senior High School 1 Jakarta were performed as the media user. After the whole try out process, the product received the lowest score was 72,67%, and the highest was 94,63%. And the average score was 85,66% that achieved a very good interpretation. The result of this research showed that the modified monopoly game could be utilized as one of learning media on Endocrine System at Senior High School grade XI science.

Abstract

Comics are popular among teenagers in which senior high school students included. One type of comics, digital comic, has recently become a global trend, which beneficial to be utilized as an effective learning media. In order to take benefits from this great opportunity, this research was aimed to develop a digital comic on immune system topic. This study was conducted at SMAN 13 Jakarta using research and development method. Samples were consisted of students and biology teacher class XI, media expert, and material expert. A total of six steps proceeded including need assesment, objective formulation, material development, instruments development, media development, and try-out and revision. During the try out test, all samples were involved as users. The product received a very good interpretation from all samples with feasibility ranged from 81,3-90,9%. This result implied that this digital comic was qualified as learning media on immune system topic for class XI.

Abstract

Bilingual student worksheet in Biology Lessons was currently not available in SMAN 68. Such worksheet is useful for increasing student engagement during learning process, encouraging students to apply the knowledge into daily living activities, and also helping student to understand English in Biology. Therefore, this research was aimed to develop bilingual student worksheet with contextual approach on human reproductive system topic. It is held at SMAN 68 Jakarta on February to May 2012. This research and development consisted of three stages: need assessment, development, and feasibility test. The result of feasibility tests showed that 88.4% obtained from material expert, 80% from media expert, 95.5% from linguist expert, 85.14% from Biology teacher, 71.96% from the smaller group student, and 77.6% from the larger group student. Based on the results, it was concluded that the worksheet can be used as teaching material for senior high school student in Biology lesson on human reproductive system topic.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of the use of bilingual student worksheet toward students learning outcomes on the human reproductive system topic. This research was conducted at SMAN 68 Jakarta on April-May 2012. The method was quasi-experimental with posttest-only design. The Simple random sampling technique selected 30 students grade 11 of IPA 4 included in experimental group and another 30 students grade 11 of IPA 3 as control group. This research used instrument of multiple choice test with five alternative answers. Prerequisite Testing for normality of Kolmogorov Smirnov and homogeneity testing of F-test showed a normal distribution and homogenous data. The hypothesis testing on cognitive learning result using t-test at α = 0.05 indicated that tcount (2.35) > ttable (2.00) which rejected the H0, whether the hypothesis testing on affective learning result using t-test at α = 0.05 showed that t count (3.84) > t table (2.00) which rejected the H0. Based on the results, it can be concluded that there was an effect of using the bilingual student worksheet toward students learning outcomes on the human reproductive system topic.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are one of the parameters of achieving learning objectives. The Covid-19 pandemic condition causes learning to take place remotely so that the delivery of material cooperatively and interactively is hampered. Learning that is not interactive can affect student learning outcomes so appropriate learning models and media are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of using the e-learning-based cooperative learning model type GI (Group Investigation) on student learning outcomes on the material of the circulatory system. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta, Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The sample in this study amounted to 67 students with 34 students in the experimental class and 33 students in the control class.
