Abstract

Islamic boarding schools have great potential which requires support for its development. The purpose of this community service program is to provide counseling, training and practice of fish farming for teachers, management, and students of class XII SMA-IT Riyadhussholihiin. This program uses the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach to explore the potential to meet the requirements of the institution more optimally, independently, and sustainably through the entrepreneurial development of fish farming using RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) method. Potentiality exploration (strengths/assets/capital), opportunities, and aspirations is carried out, so that appropriate results can be achieved. The potential resources identified are intangible, such as systems, cohesion, experience, and quality of human resources; and tangible such as land, human resources, and nature. These potential assets form the basis for program development. The results of the program are explained using Actor Theory. Based on the theory, the program can encourage the improvisation of the institution as an actor, increasing the use of existing resources, through the provision of self-food supply. The sustainability of the program is expected to be achieved through entrepreneurial life-skill education for all potential human resources, fish farming can also be increased in production to be marketed. Highligts: Community Empowerment: The program focuses on empowering teachers, management, and students through fish farming practices. ABCD Approach: The Asset-Based Community Development method explores strengths, resources, and aspirations for sustainable development. Entrepreneurial Life-Skills: The initiative promotes self-sustainability by educating participants on entrepreneurial fish farming. Keywords: Islamic boarding school, fish farming, entrepreneurship, asset-based community development, actor theory

Abstract

This Community Service activity was conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Community Association (PERMAI), a non-political NGO based in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. PERMAI supports Indonesians living in Malaysia, including businesspeople, workers, teachers, and students, and is active in social, educational, and cultural fields. A major challenge for PERMAI members, especially business owners, is the lack of accounting knowledge, which leads to poor financial record-keeping and reporting, hindering business growth. To tackle this issue, the PKM team provided basic accounting training covering accounting concepts, the accounting cycle, and practical skills from recording transactions to preparing financial reports. The training used interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice with relevant case studies. The activity successfully improved participants’ understanding of accounting’s role in managing businesses. Participants gained the ability to independently record financial transactions and prepare simple financial reports. These results demonstrate that basic accounting training enhances business owners’ capacity to manage their operations more professionally and sustainably.

Abstract

Audit judgement by auditors is a crucial element in determining the fairness of the company's financial statements. The quality of audit judgement can be influenced by various factors, including technical factors such as the limited time and environment of the audit as well as non-technical factors such as the behavior and character of individual auditors. Seeing this phenomenon, special attention is needed to factors that are suspected of influencing the auditor's decision-making process, both internal auditor factors such as Locus of Control and Professional Ethics, as well as external factors from the client's side in the form of Client Narcissism. This study aims to determine the influence of these factors on the quality of audit judgment, especially for auditors at Public Accounting Firms (KAP) in the East Jakarta region. This study uses a quantitative approach with data analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) through the SmartPLS 3.0 application. The research sample consisted of 74 auditors working at KAP East Jakarta, who were selected based on the criteria of a minimum of 1 year of experience and a minimum of S1 education. The results of the study show that Professional Ethics has a positive and significant effect on Audit Judgment, meaning that the better the application of ethics by the auditor, the better the quality of the audit judgement produced. However, Locus of Control and Client Narcissism did not show a significant influence on audit judgment. These findings suggest that auditors' self-control attitudes and client character do not significantly affect the quality of audit considerations. Based on the results of the study, Professional Ethics has a significant influence on the quality of audit judgment, while Locus of Control and Client Narcissism have no significant effect.

Abstract

Abstract

Culinary micro businesses and home industries have a strategic role in local economic development, especially in the Tangerang area. However, obstacles such as low brand awareness, less than optimal business management, and minimal understanding of business regulations hinder the competitiveness of this sector. This study aims to examine how product re-branding and improving business governance can increase the competitiveness of culinary micro businesses. Using the Community-Based Research (CBR) methodology, this community engagement initiative involved 10 business owners selected through purposive sampling, utilizing in-depth interviews and field observations. The results showed that the rebranding strategy, including improving packaging, improving product quality, and strengthening marketing messages, succeeded in increasing sales by up to 30%. In addition, training in financial management, marketing, and operational management improved the skills of business actors. Administrative support in managing permits such as NIB, PIRT, and halal certification also provided more trust to consumers. In conclusion, the combination of an effective rebranding strategy and good business governance can increase the competitiveness of this industry.
