Abstract

This study explores the strategic transformation of Human Resource Management (HRM) in the context of technological advancement, employee-centric practices, and sustainability integration. As HRM evolves from a traditional administrative function to a strategic organizational driver, technologies such as Big Data Analytics (BDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and HR Analytics play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making. These tools enhance employee attrition prediction, improve person-organization fit, and strengthen employer branding. Simultaneously, Strategic HRM (SHRM) emphasizes the alignment of HR policies with long-term organizational goals, contributing significantly to performance outcomes. Beyond operational efficiency, this paper highlights the growing importance of employee engagement, well-being, and sustainable HRM practices that support a healthy, inclusive, and balanced work environment. Sustainable HRM links employee well-being with organizational productivity while addressing social, environmental, and economic dimensions. The Dynamic Capability Theory provides the theoretical lens to understand how agile HR systems enhance organizational resilience and competitiveness amid rapidly changing business environments. This study formulates twelve hypotheses focusing on four key dimensions: technology integration in HRM, strategic HRM and performance, employee-centric practices, and industry-specific competency challenges. The hypothesized model outlines relationships between independent variables (technology, HRM strategy, competencies), mediating factors (psychological/social aspects, managerial roles), and dependent outcomes (performance, turnover, innovation, commitment). By synthesizing recent literature and identifying theoretical gaps—particularly in the areas of sustainability, social network utilization, and non-R&D employee innovation—this study contributes to advancing HRM research and proposes pathways for future exploration that are inclusive, data-driven, and aligned with dynamic organizational needs.

Abstract

Environmental issues from increasing non-organic waste, especially plastic and fabric scraps, have become serious in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District. Limited community knowledge, particularly among women, worsens the problem. To address this, the Green Craft Women program was developed as a community-based social entrepreneurship model empowering women to turn household waste into creative, eco-friendly crafts. The program integrates environmental preservation with economic empowerment through recycling training, small business management, digital marketing, and community branding. Implemented through observation, participatory training, and mentoring over three months, it involved 20 women from PKK and youth groups. Results showed improved waste management, entrepreneurial skills, and environmental awareness. Products such as recycled bags, wallets, and home decorations gained market appeal, supported by online promotion. This initiative fostered women’s independence, circular economy practices, and stronger community solidarity in environmental care.

Abstract

Flooding is one of the natural disasters that frequently occurs in the regions of Central Tapanuli and Aceh, causing not only physical damage but also significant impacts on the local economy. The low level of public awareness regarding flood risks, along with limited knowledge of its economic impacts, remains a major challenge in mitigation efforts. This community service activity aims to enhance public awareness and understanding of flood risks and their economic consequences. The methods used include participatory socialization, educational outreach, focus group discussions, and community-based assistance. The activity involves affected communities, village officials, and local business actors. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding and the emergence of awareness to implement simple mitigation measures and economic adaptation strategies, thereby strengthening community economic resilience in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of absorptive capacity on innovation within non-cyclical manufacturing companies in Indonesia and to examine the moderating role of intellectual capital.Method: The study employed a quantitative descriptive methodology, analyzing 176 data points derived from the annual financial statements of 38 non-cyclical manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. The sample was selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria pertinent to the research objectives. Regression analysis was conducted using Stata, applying main and moderation models under fixed effects (as determined by the Hausman test), while passing diagnostic tests for heteroscedasticity and serial correlation to ensure validity and reliability.Result: The findings indicate that absorptive capacity significantly enhances innovation. Human capital and structural capital exert a positive and significant influence on innovation, whereas physical capital does not demonstrate a statistically significant direct effect. Nevertheless, the interaction of absorptive capacity with both structural capital and physical capital significantly bolsters innovation. Conversely, the interaction between absorptive capacity and human capital presents a negative moderating effect.Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: This study confirms that enhancing absorptive capacity, supported by intellectual capital, can improve innovation in non-cyclical manufacturing companies, ultimately strengthening industrial productivity and contributing to national economic growth.Originality/Value: This study provides an original contribution by empirically examining the moderating role of intellectual capital in the relationship between absorptive capacity and innovation, framed within the Resource-Based View theory.
