Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan transisi antara masa kehidupan anak-anak dan masa kehidupan dewasa yang ditandai dengan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan fisik, kognitif, dan psikososial. Perubahan yang terjadi dalam masa transisi memberikan kesempatan bagi pertumbuhan sekaligus potensi risiko bagi remaja. Perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada remaja serta kemampuan yang masih rendah dalam pengelolaan diri membuat remaja cenderung mudah terlibat dalam masalah atau memiliki berbagai isu kesehatan mental. Hal ini membuat diperlukannya pendampingan kepada remaja oleh orang dewasa untuk membantu mereka dalam mengelola diri dan menyelesaikan masalah dengan lebih sehat. Pendampingan remaja ini dilakukan oleh Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) Cluster Luwu, namun terdapat kebutuhan akan pengetahuan yang lebih banyak mengenai remaja dan dinamikanya. Oleh karena itu dilakukan pelatihan yang dapat memberikan pengetahuan serta diskusi terkait masalah remaja yang terdapat di sana. Pelatihan ini dilakukan oleh tim Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Pelita Harapan sebanyak dua sesi kepada 37 mentor pendamping remaja. Dari hasil pelatihan ini diketahui bahwa para peserta menilai bahwa informasi yang diberikan berguna bagi mereka. Selain itu mereka juga mendapatkan pengetahuan serta pemahaman baru mengenai remaja dan langkah praktis yang dapat dilakukan dalam menghadapi remaja di lapangan. Walaupun begitu, masih tetap diperlukan pembekalan lanjutan akan masalah remaja dengan tetap memahami konteks budaya di sana.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to enhance the teaching quality of Sunday school teachers at The Grace Pakuan Yogyakarta through psychoeducation focused on understanding child development. Recognizing the need for information on teaching methods that consider developmental stages, the Faculty of Psychology at UPH initiated an educational program addressing developmental stages and specific cases encountered by Sunday school teachers. The program includes a series of workshops and training sessions designed to equip teachers with knowledge of child development and effective teaching techniques. By understanding cognitive, emotional, and social developmental stages, teachers are expected to create more engaging, supportive, and effective learning environments. The psychoeducation program includes both pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure changes in teachers' knowledge about child development. Evaluations reveal significant improvements in understanding the developmental stages of Sunday school children and children with special needs. These findings suggest that the psychoeducation program can be extended to include training for new teachers to help them comprehend child development stages and develop teaching methods that are easily understood by Sunday school children. Additionally, there is a need for continuous programs aimed at creating inclusive and effective Sunday school environments within the church.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of *romantic beliefs* on relationship satisfaction in individuals within the phase of emerging adulthood. This phase is marked by significant changes in individual development, including romantic relationships. The method used in this research is simple regression analysis, with data collection through questionnaires completed by eligible respondents. The results show that *romantic beliefs* have a significant impact on relationship satisfaction, where higher romantic beliefs are associated with lower levels of relationship satisfaction. These findings contradict the initial hypothesis, which suggested that *romantic beliefs* would enhance relationship satisfaction. Based on these results, the study suggests that individuals should adopt more realistic views on romance in order to maintain the quality of their relationships. Additionally, the implications of this research can contribute to the development of interpersonal relationship theories, particularly in the context of emerging adulthood, and serve as a consideration for counselors or psychological practitioners in providing guidance on romantic relationships

Abstract

Previous studies have shown that parenting plays a significant role in adolescents' emotional and social development, which can influence their involvement in cyberbullying. This study examines the mediating role of depression tendencies in the relationship between parenting and cyberbullying behavior as a perpetrator. This study used a quantitative survey method with a cross-sectional approach on 165 adolescents who actively use social media, as well as mediation analysis using the JASP program. The results showed that authoritative parenting and neglectful parenting played a role in cyberbullying behavior through depression as a partial mediator. These findings emphasize the importance of authoritative parenting as a protective factor against cyberbullying, while neglectful parenting is a risk factor. The implications of this study underline the need for cyberbullying prevention interventions through education for parents about the importance of authoritative parenting, as well as school-based approaches to improve adolescents' emotional regulation and social skills.

Abstract

Impostor phenomenon is one of mental health issues which poses risk for an individual, especially in youths. Management of impostor phenomenon within youth is urgent to maintain their mental health. The problem of impostor phenomenon also found in Menjadi Manusia collective affiliated, in which the youth affiliated with this collective was identified experiencing impostor phenomenon. We conducted serial activities within a workshop to help these youth in managing impostor phenomenon. The workshop designed as psychoeducation and psychological intervention to equip the youth in understanding and managing impostor phenomenon. Participants’s feedback about the workshop suggests that it helped them to understand and manage impostor phenomenon. Results of this workshop serve as an initial suggestion on how to manage impostor phenomenon, particularly in Menjadi Manusia collective affiliated.

Abstract

Masa emerging adulthood ditandai dengan eksplorasi identitas serta berbagai transisi kehidupan yang signifikan, di mana self-esteem berperan penting dalam mendukung kondisi mental dan emosional individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran kesepian sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara mattering to family dan self-esteem pada individu di masa perkembangan emerging adulthood di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 119 individu berusia 18–25 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tiga instrumen: The Mattering Index, UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, dan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model mediasi menggunakan SPSS versi 22 dan Macro-PROCESS. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mattering to family memengaruhi self-esteem secara positif, dengan kesepian sepenuhnya memediasi hubungan ini. Skor mattering to family yang lebih tinggi dikaitkan dengan tingkat kesepian yang lebih rendah, yang selanjutnya memprediksi self-esteem yang lebih tinggi, demikian pula sebaliknya. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran keluarga dalam meningkatkan harga diri individu di masa emerging adulthood. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intervensi berbasis keluarga untuk mengurangi kesepian dan meningkatkan self-esteem pada individu dalam tahap perkembangan ini.
