Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of teachers' ability to use media related to the students environment as teaching materials to develop primary school students' critical thinking ability. The research aims at developing problem-based learning media (PBL) using comic book in order to improve students' critical thinking ability. The research employed a research and development design using the experimental research design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the research were 28 fourth-grade students in one of primary schools in Indramayu Regency. The research produced a product in the form of problem-based comic media developed based on the needs of teachers and students. The subject material in the comic book contained problems that occurred in the real environment within the students. Based on the validation tests carried out by material experts, media experts and practitioners, the results revealed that the product was included in the “Very Valid” category. While, the practicality test results revealed that the product was included in the “Very Practical”.

Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum 2013 at the primary and secondary education levels is carried out in order to equip students with complete competencies to face challenges in the 21st century. Therefore, such conditions become special challenges for teachers to prepare superior human resources through the development of literacy and high order thinking skills. This study provides an overview of the development of literacy competence and high order thinking skills in the curriculum 2013 implementation. The results of the study show that literacy competence and higher order thinking skills are demands of the curriculum 2013 development, in which the development is carried out through a learning process that puts students active in scientific work through problem solving activities and involving students in reading habitual activities through school literacy movements.

Abstract

Abstrak: Guru belum optimal dalam memanfaatkan teknologi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, hal yang penting apabila guru dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan media pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang tersedia salah satunya video scribe sparkol. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah membekali guru membuat media pembelajaran digital menggunakan video scribe sparkol. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian melalui lima tahapan yaitu survey lapangan, koordinasi dengan mitra, sosialisasi program, pelaksanaan program, evaluasi kegiatan. Mitra dalam program pengabdian ini adalah SDN Cibentar 3 Kabupaten Majalengka, dengan subyek pengabdian yaitu guru kelas yang berjumlah 10 orang. Indikator capaian berdasarkan tingkat kepuasan mitra terhadap program pelaksanaan pengabdian pada kriteria minimal puas dan produk media pembelajaran yang dibuat oleh guru. Hasil yang dicapai pada kegiatan ini adalah guru dapat secara mandiri membuat media pembelajaran digital menggunakan video scribe sparkol serta tingkat kepuasan mitra terhadap pelaksanaan program pelatihan berkategori sangat puas 70% dan berkategori puas 30%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan pelatihan memberikan dampak yang positif terhadap guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran digital yang menarik untuk pembelajaran.Abstract:  Teachers have not been optimal in utilizing technology in learning activities. Therefore, it is important that teachers can optimize the use of learning media by utilizing available technology, one of which is video scribe sparkol. The purpose of this service is to equip teachers to create digital learning media using video scribe sparkol. The method of implementing service through five stages, namely field surveys, coordination with partners, program socialization, program implementation, activity evaluation. Partners in this service program are SDN Cibentar 3, Majalengka Regency, with the subject of service, namely class teachers, totaling 10 people. Achievement indicators are based on the level of partner satisfaction with the service implementation program on the minimum criteria of satisfaction and learning media products made by teachers. The results achieved in this activity are that teachers can independently create digital learning media using video scribe sparkol and the level of partner satisfaction with the implementation of the training program is categorized as very satisfied 70% and categorized as satisfied 30%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the training has a positive impact on teachers in creating attractive digital learning media for learning.

Abstract

One of the reasons for the low numeracy skills in elementary schools is the lack of application of instructional media which provides opportunities for students to practice directly and train themselves to be skilled at counting. To improve students' numeracy skills, learning innovations are needed that involve students actively through direct learning experiences. One alternative solution to this problem is to use colored beads as learning media in learning Mathematics in Elementary Schools. This study aims to find out 1) to know the application of color bead media to grade 1 elementary school mathematics 2) to find out the increase in math skills in grade 1 elementary school students after using color bead media, and 3) to know the effect of using the media the color of the beads on the numeracy skills of 1st grade students. This research is a systematic literature study. Based on this discussion, the media of colored beads is very effective for improving students' numeracy skills, because students have the opportunity to directly practice and train themselves to be skilled at counting. The results of the research are expected to provide an overview for developing further research regarding improving numeracy skills through learning media of colored beads in mathematics in elementary schools.

Abstract

The use of technology in education is increasingly necessary to meet the learning needs of the 21st century. This study aims to identify the need for developing NearPod as interactive multimedia in teaching the human respiratory system to fifth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative method with a population consisting of teachers and fifth-grade students at SDN Munjul II. The research sample includes 24 teachers and 25 students selected using purposive sampling to ensure proper representation of the target population. Data collection was conducted through media needs questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results indicate that both teachers and students agree on the importance of developing interactive multimedia to facilitate a more engaging and effective learning process. Most teachers struggle to teach the human respiratory system due to the complexity of the concepts, which are difficult for students to understand. Students face challenges in understanding the material because of the limitations of the available learning media, particularly in visualizing the respiratory process, which cannot be directly observed. This study confirms that the need to develop NearPod is based on the necessity of making the learning process more interactive, with visual elements added to help students grasp abstract concepts.

Abstract

The lack of use of varied and innovative teaching materials, especially in IPAS learning, has an impact on students' lack of understanding of concepts. One of the teaching materials that teachers can use in the learning process is an interactive e-book. The purpose of this study was to determine the acquisition of students' concept understanding before and after using interactive e-books in IPAS learning about Changing Energy Forms. The research method used is quantitative, with a pre-experimental design research design. Subjects used by 20 fourth grade students. Data collection techniques using tests, interviews, and questionnaires. The pre-test score obtained an average result of 45.2 while the post-test score obtained an average result of 75.85. Based on the results of research data analysis using the help of SPSS version 27, it can be concluded that the paired sample t-test sig value (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05 means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results showed that there were differences in the acquisition of students' concept understanding before and after using interactive e-books which increased by 30.65 after the use of interactive e-books in learning IPAS Class IV at SDN Babakan Jawa III Majalengka.

Abstract

This study addresses challenges in 21st-century education, particularly the low motivation and academic performance of elementary school students. It investigates the use of multimedia-based interactive learning tools as a solution to improve engagement and learning outcomes. Focusing on the Hydrological Cycle (Theme 8) for fifth-grade students, the research aimed to develop interactive multimedia learning materials using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and assessments, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The findings revealed strong validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed materials. Material and media experts rated the tool’s validity at 90%, classifying it as highly valid. Practicality tests yielded scores of 98.3% from teachers and 86.9% from students, confirming its usability in classroom settings. Most notably, the tool significantly improved learning outcomes, with average test scores rising from 48.79 (pretest) to 81.47 (post-test). These results demonstrate that interactive multimedia tools can effectively enhance student motivation and academic achievement in elementary education

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru sekolah dasar dalam pembuatan modul ajar berbasis deep learning yang dapat mengintegrasikan konsep mindful learning, meaningful learning, dan joyful learning. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu studi pendahuluan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, evaluasi, dan pemberian umpan balik. Tahap studi pendahuluan mengidentifikasi tantangan dan kebutuhan guru terkait penerapan teknologi pembelajaran, khususnya deep learning, melalui wawancara dengan kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa meskipun guru memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang deep learning, penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran masih terbatas karena keterbatasan perangkat dan akses internet. Tahap sosialisasi dilakukan kepada 44 guru dengan dominasi peserta perempuan (82%), dilanjutkan pelatihan intensif selama dua hari yang mencakup pengenalan konsep deep learning dan pendampingan penyusunan modul ajar untuk berbagai mata pelajaran. Tim PKM Universitas Majalengka memberikan materi sesuai kepakaran masing-masing. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini memberikan pemahaman baru serta keterampilan praktis bagi guru dalam mengembangkan modul ajar adaptif berbasis teknologi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal bagi implementasi deep learning di sekolah dasar serta membuka peluang kolaborasi lanjutan antara mitra dan perguruan tinggi. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakuakan untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh dari penggunaan model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sample penilitian sebanyak 22 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 22 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunkan pretest dan posttest. Hasil dari penelitian dikatakan bahwa pada hasil nilai pretetst dan posttest pada kelas ekperimen maupun kelas kontrol, uji paired sample t-test nilai sig. (2- tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, maka Ho ditolak, Ha diterima. Adanya perbedaan antara hasil nilai pretest dan posttest yang mana nilai posttest jauh lebih meningkat di bandingkan sebelum treatment. Artinya Model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Hasil uji N-Gain memperoleh skor rata –rata pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 56,18 lebih tingi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang hanya sebesar 23,63. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif lebih efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dibandingkan pembelajran Direct Instruction.
