Abstract

As we know, the need for electrical energy is increasing along with population growth and technological developments. This increase was also triggered by the growth rate of the energy demand of 6.86% per year. Most of the energy needs come from non-renewable energy, which has limitations and is not environmentally friendly. Despite being affected by Covid, this period is a momentum to start the direction of clean energy policies. The utilization of solar power can be started by utilizing a rooftop solar power system on the roof of a hotel or on the roof of other industrial buildings. As one of the research and development institutions in the housing and settlement infrastructure sector, it tries to provide alternative technology solutions through an innovative technology called PV-roof. The results of the research show that the designed roof off-grid has an average voltage and current on the first day of 13 Volts and a current of 1.8 A, and on the second day, 12.4 Volts and a current of 1.6 A, while on the third day, 12.8 Volts and current of 1.8 A. If the use of 1 battery bears a load of 450 Watts for 2.7 hours, then for users less than 5 hours, the solar charger controller capacity is 12.12 A.

Abstract

The sun shines on the territory of Indonesia for about 10 to 12 hours every day, so that solar power plants can be developed in Indonesia, the government has launched the movement of one million PLTS roofs in 2017, this research uses solar panels with a capacity of 200 Wp, which consists of 2 solar panels connected in parallel, solar charge controllers, batteries, inverters and as an AC load a fan, soldering iron and LED lights, the research aims to determine the output current, voltage and output power of the inverter when given an alternating current load that is inductive, resistive and capacitive, the method used is to measure the intensity of the sun, temperature, voltage, electric current, power factor, when the load is large the voltage drops depending on the given load, the inductive fan load has a voltage drop that is greater than the voltage drop that occurs in the soldering load and the LED lamp, the large current flowing on the output side fan load wants to be bigger than output current flowing in the solder and LED lights, the low efficiency of the inverter used can shorten the life of the electrical equipment used.

Abstract

Permasalahan lingkungan perkotaan khususnya di Kota Medan semakin meresahkan. Peningkatan jumlah penduduk tentunya menjadi alasan yang paling mendasar terhadap permasalahan lingkungan dengan naiknya pos pembuangan sampah liar hasil rumah tangga. Berdasarkan informasi media cetak maupun elektronik saat ini Tempat Pembuangan Akhir Terjun atau yang lebih dikenal TPA di Kota Medan saat ini sudah tidak mampu mengelola limbah rumah tangga dengan cepat akibat meningkatnya volume hingga mencapai 2000 ton sehari. Melihat ancaman terhadap keterbatasan teknologi maupun sarana pengelolaan persampahan tersebut, masyarakat memilih membakar sampah sehingga menghasilkan polusi diudara. Proses pengelolaan sampah yang dilakukan hampir sebagian besar masyarakat dikota medan menimbulkan bahaya yang sangat besar untuk kesehatan. Pengelolaan pembakaran sampah dengan rancang bangun Insinerator merupakan solusi dalam menyelesaikan hal tersebut. Muhammadiyah di Kecamatan Medan Perjuangan terdapat lebih dari 10 ranting. Pimpinan Ranting Muhammadiyah An Nur dan Al Furqon diharapkan dapat menjadi mitra binaan dalam melakukan pengelolaan sampah yang ramah lingkungan sehingga dapat menjadi percontohan ditengah masyarakan padat penduduk khususnya Muhammadiyah akan menjadi lebih berkembang

Abstract

Cara kerja dari sensor HMC 5883L sebagai pendamping kompas analog penunjuk arah mata angin dan penunjuk arah kiblat. Mengetahui kemampuan kerja sensor HMC 5883L untuk hasil pembacaan arah pada layar LCD dan tampilan LED light. Mendapatkan arah kiblat yang akurat dan tampilan arah yang baik agar mudah dipahami pengguna. Dapat sebagai pendamping data kompas RHI yang berada pada Lembaga OIF UMSU. Pada penelitian yang dilakukan pengujian pada sensor kompas HMC 5883L dapat membaca 8 arah mata angin yang telah ditampilkan pada layar LCD dalam bentuk jumlah derajat dalam angka dan batas antara arah sisi Timur, Tenggara, Selatan, Barat Daya, Barat, Barat Laut, Utara dan Timur Laut. Pada setiap arah dan batas mata angin, selain ditampilkan pada layar LCD batas dari kedelapan arah mata angin juga di tunjukkan pada lampu LED yang menyala sesuai dengan jumlah mata angin sebanyak 8 buah. Kemampuan pembacaan sensor HMC 5883L cukup baik dikarenakan selisih pembacaan sudut kemiringan arah kiblat yang masih dalam kategori aman yaitu 7o sementara rentang jarak aman kemiringan arah kiblat di Indonesia yaitu 5o.

Abstract

Electrical energy has become a basic need for all people in the world, alternative energy as described above can be applied to households that are supplied by two energy sources namely energy sources from solar panels and PLN need to be accompanied by a system of regulating the supply of electric load power (control systems), so that the change of electrical energy supply to the load can work automatically. Along with the continued increase in the Basic Electricity Tariff (TDL) it is necessary to design a measurement of the use of electrical loads in households using the Pzem-004T Sensor to determine the amount of power from an electrical load and can be monitored from a certain distance. From the results of tests and measurements with various household loadings for 0 days, a very significant comparison from the previous TDL of Rp. 159,000.00, - and after using the Pzem-004T Sensor, the result of the TDL tariff calculation is Rp. 109,308.

Abstract

The use of electricity with large capacity sometimes faces problems. These problems include a decrease in voltage that occurs in the channel. With the improvement of the quality of electric power on computer equipment at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah, North Sumatra, it is expected to be able to improve the quality of electrical power. This improvement is expected to reduce the cost of electricity usage in the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah North Sumatra. To carry out improvements in the quality of electrical power, it is necessary to calculate the active power and apparent power. After doing these calculations, the determination of the capacitor value will be used. By carrying out these stages it is expected that the installation of Energy storage devices can improve the quality of electrical power. And by using energy storage devices will be clearly seen before and after the use of energy storage devices with the value of efficiency before and after namely: 87% (active power) and 91% (apparent power).

Abstract

In general, the water pump is often used automatically, according to the use of the water faucet when it is opened. This automatic water pump system often triggers a surge in electric current when the water pump is on or off. This surge in electric current will increase compared to the nominal electric current. With increased current capacity, sometimes we face problems with the quality of electrical power in the electrical system, and will also increase electricity bills. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of power to save electricity, reduce electric current when the water pump is used, so as to reduce the cost of using electricity bills, especially for water pumps. The use of Varistors in the Inverator Starting Energy Saver circuit is very influential in protecting the load when there is a surge in current even though it is momentary or long, so that it can improve the quality of electrical power at the water pump load. The data is carried out on measuring current, voltage, cos phi and frequency when the water pump is used without using an inverator. After making these measurements the measurement data can be saved as a comparison for the measurement data, which uses the installation of an inverator starting energy saver which is connected in parallel with the power source and also connected to the water pump. By installing the inverter starting energy saver circuit to improve the quality of electric power. The use of a varistor in the inverator starting Energy saver circuit clearly produces a current of 1.274 A and the voltage is 216 V without using an inverator. Furthermore, when using the inverter circuit, it produces a current of 1.098 A and the voltage drops by 207.6 V. The decrease in the working voltage of the water pump is still within the standard 5%.

Abstract

The level of accuracy of a measuring instrument is expected to be good because it is expected to provide information that can be used as a reference and benchmark in research and application in public life. The use of a compass measuring device in determining the direction of the wind and the location of the magned earth may vary from year to year such as the compass analog and digital. Both offer good reading results with the same way of working utilizing magnetic poles north and south as a reference point. HMC 5883L sensor is one measuring tool that is able to detect the direction of the compass with the same way of working from analog and digital compasses. By using Arduino Uno as a microcontroller as a central control that is able to change the information received from the HMC 5883L sensor into an easy-to-understand form of data. Qibla is more accurate by comparing the reading results of both. The results of the HMC 5883L compass sensor reading will be visualized in the form of the pointer, the pointer light and will be changed in numerical form. All data changed in the form of work is the result of an order from Arduino Uno received from the HMC 58883L sensor. A total of eight LED lights are used as a pointer to the compass and are connected with data obtained from the sensor.

Abstract

Abstrak —Prototipe dari troli otomatis yang mengikuti pergerakan manusia adalah robot yang berfungsi sebagai troli untuk membawa barang belanjaan yang mengikuti manusia secara otomatis, tanpa perlu didorong atau ditarik, sehingga gerakan ini dapat memudahkan manusia untuk berbelanja. Prototipe troli memiliki kemampuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan pengguna dan mengikuti arah gerakan pengguna. Kontrol prototipe troli menggunakan sistem minimum mikrokontroler Arduino Uno, dengan mendeteksi posisi pengguna menggunakan sensor Ultrasonik. Prototip troli ini ditenagai oleh 4 motor DC dan sumber daya baterai yang memiliki daya 9V DC. Muatan maksimum dari daya dukung prototipe ini adalah 1 Kg. Kemampuan prototipe troli mendeteksi arah gerakan pengguna terbatas pada jarak 200 cm. Kontrol prototipe ini dapat menyesuaikan gerakan dan dapat berhenti, berputar mengikuti arah pengguna, mundur dan maju yang tergantung pada jarak antara prototipe troli dan pengguna.Kata kunci:  troli prototipe, sensor ultrasonikAbstract — The Prototype of an automatic trolley that follows the movement of human is a robot that serves as a trolley to bring shopping goods that follow humans automatically, without the need to be pushed or pulled, so this movement can ease humans for shopping. The trolley prototype has the ability to detect the presence of users and follow the direction of user movement. The trolley prototype control uses the Arduino Uno microcontroller minimum system, by detecting the user's position using the Ultrasonic sensor. The trolley prototype is powered by 4 DC motors and the power source of a battery that has 9V DC power. The maximum load of this prototype carrying capacity is 1 Kg. The trolley prototype capability detects the user's motion direction is limited to a distance of 200 cm. This prototype control is able to adjust the movement and can stop, turn following the direction of the user, backward and forward which depends on the distance between the prototype of the trolley and the user.Keywords: prototype trolley, ultrasonic sensor

Abstract

Abstrak — Graphene adalah material baru yang ditemukan tahun 2004 secara sederhana oleh Andre Geim dan Konstantin Novoselov dengan menggunakan selotip yang direkatkan dengan karbon sehingga didapat lapisan dengan orde nanometer dari karbon tersebut. Graphene memiliki keunggulan mobilitas muatan yang tinggi dan memiliki konduktivitas listrik dan panas lebih baik dari material yang lain. Terutama dalam pembuatan super kapasitor yang dapat menyimpan muatan listrik. Penelitian ini Bertujuan untuk merancang superkapasitor dengan bahan dari graphene, activated carbon, polyurethane dan phosporic acid (H3PO4) dan menganalisi muatan listrik dan tegangan yang tersimpan selama pengecasan berlangsung, pada percobaan pertama pengecasan selama 1 menit dengan tegangan yang tersimpan 1,8volt dan tegangan akan habis selama 50:20,2 menit, maka voltase yang turun setiap detiknya  pada percobaan ke dua pengecasan selama 2 menit dengan tegangan yang tersimpan 1,8volt dan tegangan akan habis selama 58:28,8 menit, maka voltase yang turun setiap detiknya , pada percobaan ketiga pengecasan selama 60:24 menit dengan tegangan yang tersimpan 2volt dan tegangan akan habis selama 180:18,4 menit, maka voltase yang turun setiap detiknya . penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa superkapasitor memiliki muatan tegangan yang kecil tetapi memiliki daya simpan yang lama.Kata kunci :  Graphene, activated carbon, polyurethane, phosporic acid (H3PO4), super kapasitor, lama tegangan habis.Abstract — Graphene is a new material that was discovered in 2004 simply by Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov using tape that is glued to carbon to obtain a layer of nanometer order from the carbon. Graphene has the advantage of high charge mobility and has better electrical and thermal conductivity than other materials. Especially in the manufacture of super capacitors that can store electrical charges. This study aims to design a supercapacitor with materials of graphene, activated carbon, polyurethane and phosporic acid (H3PO4) and analyzing the electrical charge and the voltage stored during the fitting, in the first experiment of 1 minute retention with 1.8volt stored voltage and voltage discharged for 50: 20.2 minutes, then the voltage drops every second 0.0006 v/s in the experiment to two chargers for 2 minutes with 1.8 volts voltage and the voltage will be exhausted for 58: 28.8 minutes, then the voltage drops every second 0.0005 v/s, in the third experiment the 60:24 minute charger with 2volt stored voltage and the voltage will run out for 180: 18.4 minutes, then the voltage drops every second 0.000185 v/s. the research can be concluded that the supercapacitor has a small voltage charge but has a long shelf lifeKeywords :     Graphene, activated carbon, polyurethane, phosporic acid (H3PO4), supercapasitor, long voltage runs out
