Abstract

This study explores the relationship between reading interest and critical reading skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, a twenty-item Reading Interest questionnaire and a critical reading skills test were administered to a sample of 30 students. The data collected were analyzed using statistical methods to determine the correlation between the two variables. The findings reveal a significant relationship between reading interest and critical reading skills, indicating that students with higher reading interest tend to exhibit better critical reading abilities. This suggests that fostering a strong interest in reading can enhance students' critical reading skills, making them more adept at analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating texts. The study highlights the importance of engaging teaching methods and diverse reading materials to boost students' interest in reading. Recommendations include the implementation of interactive learning strategies and the promotion of varied literary genres to support the development of students' critical reading skills. Future research should consider a larger sample and more comprehensive assessment tools to further explore these findings.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini diadakan di SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Padangsidimpuan. Tujuan PKM ini adalah memberikan solusi kepada mitra, yaitu guru SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Kota Padangsidimpuan, untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berdifferensiasi karena dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi siswa. Dampak positif ini sangat berguna untuk merangsang pemikiran kritis siswa dan memberikan dukungan kepada guru agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan serta meningkatkan minat dan bakat siswa. Metode pelaksanaan PKM melibatkan: (1) penyampaian materi tentang pembelajaran berdifferensiasi, (2) praktik pembelajaran atau simulasi oleh guru sesuai dengan bidang studi masing-masing dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berdifferensiasi. Hasil PKM mencakup (1) penyelenggaraan workshop implementasi pembelajaran berdifferensiasi untuk menyesuaikan kebutuhan belajar siswa, gaya belajar, tingkat pemahaman, dan minat yang berbeda. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Aula SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Kota Padangsidimpuan dengan partisipasi 95 orang guru. Lembar respons peserta menunjukkan hasil yang sangat baik; dan (2) workshop implementasi pembelajaran berdifferensiasi berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam memetakan gaya belajar siswa dan menyesuaikannya dengan minat dan kebutuhan siswa SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Kota Padangsidimpuan. Langkah-langkah seperti ini perlu terus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengaplikasikan metode pembelajaran sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

The aim of this team is for village officials to have skills and knowledge in managing villages through Strata 1 Education. The research location is in Tano Tombangan District. The method used by the PKM team is a method that is generally often used during outreach, namely the lecture method. Because the lecture method is most appropriate to use to socialize the importance of increasing human resources in Malulu village officials at the tertiary level. As a result of the socialization carried out, it was discovered that there were several village officials who were interested in continuing their undergraduate education, there were around 17 village officials who wanted to continue to higher education, both the village head and his staff. And the conclusions obtained are that there are several duties and authorities of the village head related to village administration, development, training and empowerment. If it is related to the graduation rate of village heads who are only junior high school or high school graduates, then this is not in accordance with the village head's duties and authority because in carrying out these duties the village head should receive education through lectures so that the village head has knowledge about how to manage the village.

Abstract

Perangkat pembelajaran lahir dari kurikulum yang telah ditetapkan oleh kementrian pendidikan sebagai kurikulum nasional yang artinya seluruh sekolah menggunakan kurikulum tersebut dan kurikum terbaru adalah kurikulum merdeka. Metode yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan hasil penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ( PTK). Sedangkan pada penelitian ini guru yang menjadi subjek penelitian karena mengikuti Program PPG Dalam Jabatan. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas pada peserta PPG dalam jabatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran. Hal ini terjadi karena peneliti melakukan tindakan untuk menyelesaikan atau menuntaskan masalah peserta didik dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran.
