Abstract

In the modern era, environmental issues have become a global concern, with waste management emerging as one of the primary focuses. This research aims to analyze the role of communication campaigns in public education to enhance students' participation in recycling activities. The study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with a case study method to explore how communication campaigns can shape awareness, attitudes, and behaviors toward recycling. The findings indicate that effective communication campaigns, incorporating the use of social media, direct outreach, and collaboration with local communities, significantly improve students' understanding of the importance of recycling and motivate them to participate actively. Furthermore, the study reveals that recycling participation increases when communication campaigns are tailored to the local context and involve active student engagement. Consequently, the research concludes that public education through communication campaigns is a crucial strategy for enhancing recycling participation and contributing to environmental preservation, particularly at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. The implications of these findings highlight the need for more focused and sustainable communication campaigns to maximize the impact of public education on recycling participation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of using educational games on improving students' vocabulary mastery in learning English and Japanese. Using a quantitative and experimental approach, this study involved students who were learning both foreign languages, both at secondary school and college levels. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling method, and the instruments used included pre-test, post-test, observation, and questionnaire. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in students' vocabulary mastery after interacting with educational games, with a p value <0.05. In addition, observations showed that students were more active and motivated in learning using educational games compared to conventional methods. The questionnaire revealed that the majority of students felt more confident in using new vocabulary and were more motivated to learn. These findings are in line with previous studies showing that gamification elements in educational games increase student engagement and motivation. However, the effectiveness of educational games can vary depending on the type of game used and the individual learning preferences of students. This study concludes that educational games can be an effective learning tool in improving vocabulary mastery, provided that they are adjusted to students' preferences and learning styles. Further studies are recommended to explore the most influential gamification elements and combine educational games with traditional methods for more optimal results.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of empathetic AI feedback on English language learners at MAN Labuhanbatu Utara, specifically focusing on enhancing student engagement and reducing anxiety. In the context of language learning, anxiety is a significant barrier that can affect students' motivation and performance. The study investigates how AI-driven feedback, which incorporates emotional intelligence, can foster a more supportive and engaging learning environment. A mixed-method approach was used, combining surveys, classroom observations, and interviews. The results indicated a marked reduction in student anxiety, particularly in areas such as fear of making mistakes and peer judgment. Furthermore, students who received empathetic AI feedback exhibited higher levels of engagement, participating more actively in class activities and demonstrating increased motivation. These findings suggest that integrating emotionally supportive AI feedback into language learning can create a more positive and effective educational experience, potentially improving both emotional well-being and academic performance.
