Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of information and communication technology on the reading ability of students in tertiary institutions. The method for collecting data sources uses quantitative descriptive methods. This method presents data and describes data based on books, journals, and several other sources. This article examines and presents information and communication technology in the reading ability of students in tertiary institutions, including input competency for higher education is very necessary, as a form of higher education readiness in maintaining graduate quality. Curriculum development in tertiary institutions should continue to be reconstructed against changes that occur, especially the ability to receive information and disseminate it to the public. Interest in reading and ICT will be achieved in national education standards in Indonesia, which will be a solution to the problem of information delays and will continue to be minimized.

Abstract

To be achievement in learning and teaching language aspects were full involvement in the selection of learning resources and materials in higher education. They were applied in everyday life. This article discussed and analysed the implementation of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka in English teaching and linguistics based on contextual teaching and learning model in higher education. The method applied used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data’s sources included primary data: observation and interview. Then, secondary data: guidelines for Implementation of the 2021 Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka and some relevant articles. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews, observation and documentation techniques. Techniques in determining documentation: 1) linkage of studies with reading sources, 2) engagement of studies with the results of previous research, and 3) the theory of significance and the experiences of researchers. Data analysis techniques include: 1) coding/noticing, 2) categorizing, 3) thematic analysis,4) testing and triangulation, 5) reflixivitation, 6) conclusion. The results of the study and analysis was found that there was a significant relationship between the implementation MB-KM in ETL based on CTL model, there was seem from the full involvement of students in determining learning resources in the classroom and outside the classroom, directing meaningful learning, cognitive learning in students, and developing character and creative competencies in leaning language study. These things will help students and lectures in full collaboration to build an independent competency profile in higher education to build up language proficiency.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to assess students' procedural text writing skills. This study was conducted at MAS Teladan Ujung Kubu. One month was allotted for this study's duration. This study used a descriptive, quantitative research design. Random sampling was the technique used to collect the sample. The four classes of grade X pupils that made up the research population were all of them. There were 159 pupils in all, 40 students in each of the three classes and 39 students in the single class. The researcher selected X-4, including 39 pupils, as the research sample because this study used descriptive quantitative methods. A test was one of the research's instruments. It was an essay-based test. Keywords : Kabupaten Asahan, Errors Analysis, Writing, Narrative Text.

Abstract

There are various perspectives on the consistency of the Merdeka Curriculum Towards Pancasila profiles at various eds that still need to impact learner efficacy. This article discusses and examines the consistency of the Merdeka Curriculum towards Pancasila Profiles at Various Education Levels. This article used a theoretical study based on a qualitative and quantitative approach. This approach prioritizes theoretical studies, articles, and other sources that are considered very relevant to the discussion. The discussion method uses five levels: In-depth description, holistic approach, qualitative analysis, use of primary data, and limited data generalization. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach uses a questionnaire distribution with 57 items and involves 45 respondents using purposive random sampling. Based on the study of this article, it was found that curriculum consistency Towards the Profile of Pancasila Students at the education level can be categorized as high, with an average score of 75.5. It could be done by prioritizing various positive perspectives to develop a specific ability to achieve the Golden Indonesia in 2045 goal. This research implies that it can be the solution alternative for making future education decisions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of the Kafe Baca Agrotourism program in Hessa Air Genting Village on improving community reading interest and literacy. Through a qualitative approach, this research analyzes the factors that support and hinder the activities, as well as their contributions to village development. The findings show that the program successfully enhances access to reading materials, enriches community knowledge, and strengthens social cohesion. Collaborative approaches, the relevance of reading materials, and community support are identified as key factors for the program's success. However, the study also identifies several challenges that need to be addressed, such as limited resources and shifting reading interests. This research emphasizes the importance of program diversification, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the utilization of technology to ensure the program's sustainability and expanded impact. The Kafe Baca Agrotourism program can serve as a model for literacy improvement efforts in other rural areas.

Abstract

Sosialisasi pendidikan tinggi merupakan langkah penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan minat siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di empat SMA wilayah Tapanuli Selatan dengan tujuan memberikan pemahaman komprehensif tentang urgensi pendidikan tinggi dan peluang yang tersedia. Metode pelaksanaan mengadopsi pendekatan participatory learning melalui dual-session yang terdiri dari pemaparan materi dan diskusi interaktif. Total 126 siswa berpartisipasi dalam program ini, dengan mayoritas peserta (35.7%) berasal dari kelas XII IPA. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta, dari rata-rata 40.5% menjadi 85.25%. Minat melanjutkan studi juga meningkat dari 35% menjadi 75%. Lima faktor utama yang mempengaruhi minat studi lanjut teridentifikasi: ekonomi (85%), prospek karir (90%), dukungan keluarga (75%), lokasi perguruan tinggi (65%), dan reputasi institusi (70%). Program menghasilkan beberapa luaran konkret termasuk modul panduan, database digital, dan jaringan pendampingan. Rekomendasi tindak lanjut mencakup pembentukan sistem pendampingan berkelanjutan, pengembangan database informasi, koordinasi dengan sekolah, dan program penguatan kapasitas.

Abstract

This study examines the competence of second-semester students at Asahan University in distinguishing and using common nouns and proper nouns effectively. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, interviews were conducted with 20 students from the Civil Engineering Department to assess their grammatical understanding. The findings indicate that 10 students demonstrated moderate proficiency, achieving an average score of 75, while the remaining students encountered difficulties in capitalization rules and contextual application. These results highlight the need for enhanced instructional strategies that integrate practical exercises and real-world applications to improve students' mastery of noun usage. This research contributes to broader discussions on English grammar education and its role in strengthening language proficiency among learners

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dan media edukatif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar menjadi salah satu pendekatan inovatif untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan efektif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk integrasi teknologi dan media edukatif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap minat dan pemahaman siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi di sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi seperti aplikasi pembelajaran interaktif, video animasi, dan permainan edukatif berbasis digital mampu meningkatkan antusiasme siswa, memperkuat pemahaman kosakata, serta mendorong keterlibatan aktif dalam proses belajar. Selain itu, pendekatan ini membantu guru menciptakan suasana kelas yang lebih hidup dan komunikatif. Meskipun demikian, tantangan seperti keterbatasan sarana prasarana dan kompetensi digital guru perlu diatasi untuk mendukung keberhasilan integrasi ini secara optimal. Kesimpulannya, integrasi teknologi dan media edukatif dapat menjadi solusi strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang menyenangkan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research explores the application of PBL integrated into a game-based digital platform namely Wordwall to enhance learners’ interest in learning English. Initial findings from class VIII-6 at SMP Negeri 7 Kisaran showed that learners demonstrated very poor interest, with a pre-cycle score of only 18.75%. Learners expressed the need for more interactive and engaging learning experiences, particularly through games. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data in this study were collected by using questionnaires. Four indicators were used to assess interest: attention, interest, excitement, and involvement. The result of this study revealed a consistent increase in learners’ interest across both cycles. In Cycle 1, scores rose from 44.53% in the first meeting to 52.34% in the second meeting. In Cycle 2, interest further increased to 71.87% and 87.5%, reaching the “very high” category. The highest improvements were seen in attention and involvement, indicating that learners became more focused and active during lessons. This study concludes that integrating PBL into Wordwall significantly boosts learners’ interest and engagement in English. It supports the idea that digital, game-based tools can enhance classroom participation and help address low interest among learners.
