Abstract

Abstract

Chicken, and beef each have a distinctive aroma. Identification of Chicken and beef based on the aroma of the meat using an electronic nose. This electronic nose uses a series of sensors consisting of 6 (six) pieces and uses a Conducting Polymer. This polymer has a high resistance so it is widely used as an insulator. However, this resistance has a certain limit where the polymer surface will turn into carbon and conduct electric current if exposed to excessive electric charge. This research was conducted by taking samples of chicken and beef as test samples where these meats were placed in a closed container at room temperature. Data is taken alternately every day to find out the odor of each meat where on the first day data is taken from the odor of chicken, and on the second day data is taken from the odor of beef. This condition is done to ensure the freshness of each meat. This study uses a Neural Network (NN) as pattern recognition and ATMega16 microcontroller as data acquisition. Neural Network is trained using Kohonen. The sensor used is a Conducting Polymer sensor because of the nature of the Conducting Polymer where the output is a voltage generated due to changes in the polymer resistance resistance. A two-layer neural network consisting of six input nodes and three output neurons is trained using the Kohonen algorithm with the training process completed in 31 iterations. The test was carried out 30 times for each exposure to steam from the odor of chicken and beef which was carried out alternately. The percentage of success of the system is 100%.

Abstract

Fresh or rotten meat is a different matter. Damage to the meat will produce a distorted odor, mucus, discoloration in certain areas and an undesirable taste due to the formation of metabolism. The odor is described as fishy, rotten, containing sulfur and like ammonia. In this research, the author discusses a system for identifying the condition of meat based on the odor that arises from meat in three states, namely odorless odor, fresh odor and rotten odor. Fresh odor is taken from meat odor that is within 1 (one) day after being cut and rotten odor is taken from meat odor that is on the 2nd day. In this study, the test sample meat was placed in a closed container at room temperature for 2 days. Data was taken for 2 days from meat odors of known type. The sensor array consists of eight sensors made of conducting polymer material. The polymer materials used are silicon DC-200, PEG-20M, 0V-101, 0V-17, DEGA, PEG-200, PEG-1540, and PEG-6000 mixed with Carbon black. A two-layer artificial neural net consisting of eight input nodes and three output neurons, was trained using the Kohonen algorithm with a training process that was completed in 4 iterations. From 20 tests, 10 times exposure to steam from fresh odor and 10 times exposure to steam from rotten odor, carried out alternately, it was found that the system failed twice. Thus, the system success percentage reached 95 percent.

Abstract

Local breed chicken farming is one of the businesses that is still quite promising to be run today, including by service partners who live in Bandar Khalipah Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, who currently raise 300 chickens. The price of its DOC is still relatively high for local breed chicken with prices ranging from Rp. 9,000,- per head, and partners always buy DOC every time they enlarge. There is potential for business development from selling DOC chickens, but it is hampered because partners do not yet have egg incubator machines. The gross profit obtained from the sale local breed chickens is still around 20 percent. Partners who do not have their own egg incubator machines are a problem currently being faced by partners, so the proposing team offers a solution in the form of designing an automatic egg incubator machine and training in its operation to overcome this problem. The donated machine is capable of incubating 300 eggs for each process.

Abstract

Betta fish is a type of ornamental fish that is very popular during the pandemic, so its selling price has experienced a spike. The reason why this fish is so popular is because of its tiny appearance with unique shape, as well as its extraordinary durability. Betta fish can survive in an aquarium for a long time even if they are not equipped with an aerator or air circulator. Maintenance is relatively easy, cultivation does not require a large space or large capital and can also be done as a home business. Mr. Suwandi, as the prospective service partner, has been running the ornamental fish cultivation business for this type of Betta fish for 5 years, where the fish are kept in tarpaulin fish ponds. There are around 29 fish ponds owned by partners with the number of fish per pond being around 200 to 300. The pool water source is dug well/ring well water where the pool water is replaced every 1.5 months. The quality of pond water greatly influences the sex of the fish produced. Male Betta fish can be sold for IDR 2,000 apiece, while females are only priced at IDR. 300 to 500. Because water quality has a big influence on the selling price, the implementation team added water filter installations after the well and before it flows into the pond. The water quality obtained after carrying out this activity was much better than the water samples obtained previously.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of global energy demand and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have accelerated the transition toward renewable energy technologies, with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems playing a central role. In Indonesia, high solar irradiation provides significant potential for PV adoption, yet challenges remain in human resource capacity and technical readiness, particularly in rural areas where off-grid systems are critical. This study presents the design, development, and testing of a 200 Wp off-grid PV training module aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in renewable energy education. The module integrates two 100 Wp PV panels, a 100 Ah lithium-ion battery, an MPPT charge controller, and a 500 W pure sine wave inverter, all mounted on a modular acrylic platform to enable repeated assembly and disassembly for training purposes. Experimental testing under tropical conditions demonstrated stable PV output (Voc 19.8–21.5 V, Isc 4.8–5.4 A), efficient battery charging within 8 hours to full capacity, and reliable discharging performance sustaining DC loads for 18 hours and AC loads for 12–14 hours. Inverter efficiency averaged 92%, with minimal waveform distortion under typical loads. These results confirm the module’s reliability and educational value, offering a robust platform for vocational training and community-based capacity building. The study contributes to Indonesia’s renewable energy transition and supports Sustainable Development Goal 7 by enhancing technical education and workforce readiness for solar PV deployment.

Abstract

The increasing number of motorized vehicles has led to an increase in crimes against motorcycle users. There are various reasons why motorcycle crimes are committed. One of the main reasons is economic factors. The sale of stolen motorcycles is used to cover daily living expenses because many perpetrators are unemployed. The emergence of new motorcycle products each year is also suspected to be a trigger for criminal acts in the form of motorcycle theft due to the desire to own a vehicle without having to spend money. The lack of motorcycle security during theft conditions makes criminals free to take the victim's motorcycle. In this study, the author created a security system for motorcycles that, in the event of a motorcycle theft, can turn off the engine and sound the horn at a certain distance from the remote and the motorcycle's location using Bluetooth between the remote and the motorcycle.
