Abstract

This study isaimed at analyzing the optimization ofrice provision at distributor level in Bau-BauMunicipality using the 2010 data as a basis for planning the provision in the following years. This is an explanatory study in which the data are gathered through a survey method. The population ofthe study is 8 rice distributors. The data are analyzed using a descriptive method to identify some endeavors done by the distributors. The EOQ model is used to determine the number and time of fixed orders to minimize costs. The model ofprovision rolling is usedto analyze the time length for the capital put in stock and the simple nonlinear regression is used to predict the selling based on the data ofmonthly selling in 2010. This study shows the following findings. First, the efforts made by rice distributors are able to optimize the rice provision although some improvement is still needed. These include orders that should be placed before stock off, payment that ismade right after delivery and honesty and trustworthy that is encouraged to build among suppliers and distributors. Second, the total maximum order for each distributor ranges from 153.63 to 532.68, averaging of304.18tons ofrice. This maximum order ismade when stocks reach about 4.45 up to 21.78 tons, averaging of9.34tons. The total minimum costvaries about Rp 4,893,690, up to Rp 17,894,090, averaging ofRp 9,869,222. Third, the rolling ofrice provision is atminimum of6 times per year. Fourth, the distributor estimate is in the average of56.38tons for the monthly selling between January and June 2010. The selling estimate by each distributoris in the average of56.38tons. The total order for each two months ranges from 111.01 up to 114.31 averaging of 112.69 tons,

Abstract

The most important thing for farmers is the life feasibility guarantee of farming holding. Because this is the most fundamental measure of farming activity. Therefore, the efforts of farmers so that farming activities that have been able to fulfill their life's needs in a decent way continue to be important issues and become attentive to the future. At the Balinese Hindu community, the Subak system is maintained for long because it is able to lift the welfare level of farmers. This system regulates life among farmers, as irrigation is done fairly and evenly, discussing planting time, and the type of rice to be planted. If there is a breach, the ceremony is determined by the ceremonies of the citizen or ritual held in the temple. This research aims to measure the life feasibility of farmers based on the income level of rice farmers who implement the Subak system at Subak Pura Sari in Baubau Town. The results showed that the life feasibility of farmers was achieved because the average farmer's income was above the regional minimum wage (UMR) in southeast Sulawesi, which amounted to IDR 2,002,625 per month in 2017. With total admission IDR 21,930,000 minus total cost IDR Rp 9,162,648, then big farmer income is IDR 12,767,352 per planting season in the form of rice or IDR 3,191,838 per month.  Keywords: life feasibility, the Subak system, farming income

Abstract

To human beings, wood is a significant forest material. Without wood, people will have difficulties in meeting the living needs of wood and its production to have economic and sustainable quality. The goal of the analysis was to determine, partially and simultaneously, the effect of resources, the number of workers, the length of business and fuel on the profitability of wood-makers in the City of Baubau. The data obtained were analyzed with several linear regression equations T testing and F testing to measure the effect. The results showed that capital has a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurs ' income rates so that capital availability is very important. While the number of workers, the duration and the fuel volumes do not affect the profitability of wood entrepreneurs, the three variables were not taken into account as the main factors in increasing levels of profits. At the same time, the profitability of timber contractors did not affect resources, the number of employees, the duration of business and the amount of fuel. Adjusted R2 by 0.375 means that only 37.5% of the wood contractor's income is influenced by the factors measured in the report.   Keywords: Processed wood, forest products, profits

Abstract

Cassava is a food plant that has many advantages. For example, when there is a shortage of food reserves (grain), cassava can still be relied on as a source of substitute material because cassava is a food material that is resistant to water scarcity so that it can still be produced in critical land and easy to cultivate .The strategy of developing cassava itself is to increase the durability of cassava so that it is suitable for consumption for a long time and is not easily damaged in order to obtain a high selling value in the market by using modern technology such as a shredding machine to make it easier to smooth the cassava and jack technology in the process of pressing the caopy more quickly. With the existence of cassava processing business activities that change the shape of the primary product into a new product with a higher economic value after going through the production process, it will be able to provide added value due to the costs incurred so that a new higher price is formed and a bigger profit if compared without going through the production process. The problem faced in the strategy for the Development of Added Value of Cassava into Kaopi is that the processing of cassava still uses traditional technology so that the processing of cassava into caopy is very slow in the processing process, it takes a very long time starting from grating the cassava using hand grater, if using a grater machine. It will be faster and the pressing of the kaopi is done on by one compared to pressing using a jack which can be done by more than one kaopi and the packaging of the kaopi is undesirable so that it does not have an appeal to consumers until it is marketed outside the region.

Abstract

The supply of moringa leaf vegetables in rural coastal areas has its own characteristics compared to the supply of commercial commodities in general. This happens because of the strong social relations in rural areas, and the form of products offered is raw products. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence the number of raw moringa vegetable supply at the trader level and analyze the effect of each on the number of raw moringa vegetable supply. The research data were collected from the raw moringa vegetable traders in the Ambuau Indah Traditional Market in Lasalimu Selatan Sub-district as many as 21 respondents obtained for 3 months, from February to April 2020, then analyzed descriptively and using multiple regression with variables dummy. The results of the study are the factors identified as a consideration of traders determining the offer of moringa leaf vegetables are the purchase price (71%), sales costs (60%), profits (75%), vegetable origin (50%), but there are social reasons which help meet the needs of other people's vegetables (90%) and in order to make money (92). Meanwhile, the variable purchase price, cost of sales, profits, and vegetable origin simultaneously able to contribute effectively to predict the amount of appropriate vegetable deals determinant coefficient (R2) of 0.762, or Adjusted R Square of 0.682. However, the relationship between the purchase price and selling cost variables with the number of supply variables is negative, while the profit and vegetable origin variable is positive, each with a small value.
