Abstract

Mengenalkan bahasa Inggris sejak sekolah dasar perlu didukung oleh sarana dan prasarana yang memadai. Guru sebagai komponen pengelola proses pembelajaran perlu memahami kerangka berpikir anak di Tingkat Sekolah Dasar agar pengelolaan pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dengan baik. Permaslahan yang timbul adalah para guru SD tersebut mengeluh sulit mengajarkan bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang tepat sedangkan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SD sudah masuk dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan metode Finger Stayle dalam mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris di sekolah Dasar. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pengabdian ini adalah workshop dan penerapan dari workshop tersebut, yang mana mitra dari pengabdian ini adalah para wali kelas. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah memudahkan para guru dalam mengajarkan Bahasa inggris pada siswanya karena metode Fingger Stayle adalah metode belajar sambil bermain tentunya ini cocok untuk siswa sekolah dasar terutama kelas rendah agar tidak bosan dalam belajar Bahasa inggris.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Academic Writing dengan menggunakan Project Based Learning (PBL). Penerapan Metode Based Learning berfokus pada permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan penulisan karya ilmiah baik berupa artikel ilmiah maupun artikel akademik dengan menggunakan metode Project Based Learning. Dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan sebagai sampel dipilih mahasiswa kelas B semester 5 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen: observasi, wawancara dan kuesioner untuk menganalisis data dalam bentuk deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PBL dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis akademik mahasiswa. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat dari hasil pre-test siswa yang awalnya sebesar 61,67%, dan setelah dilakukan penelitian ini hasil post-test akademik menulis siswa meningkat menjadi 82%. Berdasarkan hasil penagabdian kepada masyarakat yang di laksanakan oleh satu orang ketua beserta 2 orang anggota pengabdian ini dapat di simpulkan bahwa implikasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu menulis artikel atau tulisan akademik sesuai dengan kaidah yang tertera pada indikator penelitian.

Abstract

English. Students still difficult to pronounce a word or sentences, confused and lack self confident to speak out because they were worried about the mistakes. This is caused by the lack of vocabulary and other factors. To solve this problem the researcher did the research by action learning strategy in teaching speaking. The Objective of this research was to get empirical evidence about The Effect of Action Learning Strategy on Students‟ Speaking Ability. This research used pre- experimental method. This research had been conducted at MTs NW Husnul Abror. The Population of this research was the eighth-grade students which consisted of 32 students. In taking the sample, the present researcher used simple random sampling technique. The class taken was VIII. To collect the data, pre test and post test were given to the 32 students. It aimed at determined the mean score, standard deviation, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Based on the data analysis, the present researcher found that the mean score of pre test was 55.25 and post test was 79.47. It indicated that in hypothesis testing, T test < α = 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It meant that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. It can be concluded that action learning strategy was significantly effective in improving students’ speaking skill at the eighth grader of MTs NW Husnul Abror

Abstract

The integration of technology into education has become increasingly essential, especially in enhancing students' mastery of abstract language concepts such as complex grammar. Despite numerous digital tools available, many high school classrooms still rely on conventional methods, resulting in low student motivation and poor grammar comprehension. This study aims to develop and evaluate a website-based instructional media using Canva to improve students’ understanding of complex English grammar. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design with the ADDIE model, the study involved media validation by experts and a quasi-experimental test with a pretest-posttest control group design. The developed media was assessed for feasibility by media, material, and language experts and scored an average of 82.6%, categorized as highly feasible. Additionally, the experimental group that used the Canva-based media achieved a significant improvement in their grammar scores, with an N-Gain score of 0.64 (moderate–high category), compared to the control group’s 0.26 (low category). The findings indicate that website-based media is effective in improving grammar achievement, enhancing student motivation, and fostering autonomous learning. The study concludes that Canva is a practical and scalable tool for supporting complex grammar instruction in high school settings, and its implementation should be encouraged for broader adoption in digital learning environments.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat adalah suatu Gerakan atau proses pemberdayaan diri yang dilaksanakan oleh dosen tetap maupun mahasiswa untuk kepentingan masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat besifat berkesinambungan dan dalam jangka panjang karena dalam membangun sebuah pengabdian di dalam masyarakat dibutuhkan proses yang panjang. Banyak aspek yang harus di sentuh untuk menjadikan masyarakat itu lebih baik, karakternya, budidayanya, sampai pola pikirnya harus disentuh untuk benar-benar menciptakan suatu masyarakat yang lebih baik dan berkualitas. Pengabdian merupakan salah satu yang wajib kita laksanakan dari tiga tri dharma perguruan tinggi. KKN Tematik yang dilaksanakan oleh kampus Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global tahun 2022 mengedepankan tema Membangun desa melalui pendidikan. Tema itulah yang dari awal kita bangun untuk mencari informasi disekitar tempat kami melakukan kewajiban KKN ini. Membantu masyarakat dalam membangun desa melalui pendidikan ini dimaksudkan untuk membantu masyarakat tidak hanya dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan diberbagai bidang terutama pendidikan, tetapi juga dapat membantu warga dalam pembangunan di bidang ekonomi, lingkungan dan kesehatan. Kelompok KKN tematik ini melakukan kegiatan KKN tematik terintegrasi di salah satu desa yang berada di kecamatan jonggat tepatnya di Desa Bunkate. Penduduk desa bunkate umumnya bergerak di bidang budidaya pertanian, serta berdagang. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui peningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, ekonomi, kesehatan dan lingkungan masyarakat Bunkate.

Abstract

Sasak tribe is a tribe in Lombok Island that used Sasak language as their mother language. In their social life, the society of Sasak will not pass from social interaction among the people by using the language. Same as the other languages, this language has many role and grammatical which unknown yet by the other people. In this paper, the researcher will explain more about the role in Sasak language it is about degrees of comparison. In this part there are three types of degrees of comparison those are equality, comparative, and superlative. To get real grammatical in Sasak language, the researchers collected the data from the society then continued to analyze it after that the researcher got conclusions about the data. From the conclusions the researcher got the result: The first, in equality comparison, the society of Sasak use prefix ke before adjective then followed by preposition Kance. The second finding was in applying the role of comparative the adjective was added by suffix an then followed by preposition isik. And the last finding is about superlative role. In this degree the society of Sasak used word Santer or Tulen before put the adjective.

Abstract

This research study investigates students’ perception of using the Scavenger Hunt game to understand the social context of second language acquisition. The participant of this research was 12 undergraduate students in the 5th semester. The data were collected from questionnaires, documentation, and interview. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. This study revealed that Scavenger Hunt is an exciting way to understand the social context of Second Language Acquisition because the students experienced directly and what they did were examples of some issues in learning the social context of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). Teachers and lecturers should consider the integration of Scavenger Hunt and specific topics with some adaptation to make the activity effective in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This research is intended to investigate the effect of Estafet Writing Technique on writing Recount Text at XI Grade Students of SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. The problems in writing Recount Text were: 1) The students have lack in vocabulary, 2) The students are difficult to start writing 3) The students are difficult to comprehend the tenses 4) the teacher does not have various techniques in teaching writing. The research formulations of the problem were: is there the effect of Estafet writing technique in improving students’ writing skill in recount text and to what extent is the effect of Estafet writing technique to students’ writing skill at SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of Estafet writing technique in improving students’ writing skill and to know extent the effect of Estafet writing technique to students’ writing skill at SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. This research uses an experimental quantitative method with pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test in essay test form and analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the research showed that the mean score of post-tests was 78.50 and mean score of pre-tests was 54.00. So, there was significant effect of using estafet writing technique toward students’ writing recount text at the 11th grade of SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan cerita rakyat Sasak sebagai bahan ajar dalam meningkatkan keterampilan speaking siswa English as a Foreign Language (EFL) di Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada masih rendahnya kemampuan berbicara siswa EFL, yang salah satunya disebabkan oleh keterbatasan bahan ajar yang kontekstual dan dekat dengan budaya lokal. Cerita rakyat Sasak dipandang sebagai media autentik yang dapat merangsang perkembangan linguistik, meningkatkan motivasi belajar, serta memperkuat kesadaran budaya siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-experimental dengan melibatkan dua kelas EFL tingkat SMP sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen penelitian meliputi pre-test dan post-test speaking, lembar observasi, serta wawancara semi-terstruktur. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik statistik komparatif dan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi cerita rakyat Sasak secara signifikan meningkatkan aspek fluency, pronunciation, dan vocabulary siswa kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Temuan kualitatif juga mengungkap bahwa siswa merasa lebih percaya diri, antusias, dan terhubung dengan pembelajaran karena materi yang digunakan berasal dari budaya mereka sendiri. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan cerita rakyat Sasak efektif sebagai sumber pembelajaran berbicara dalam konteks EFL dan dapat menjadi alternatif kurikulum berbasis kearifan lokal. Implikasi praktisnya adalah perlunya pengembangan modul ajar berbasis cerita rakyat lokal dan pelatihan guru untuk mengintegrasikan literatur budaya ke dalam praktik pembelajaran bahasa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of digital storytelling media based on the oral traditions of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in improving students’ speaking fluency and confidence in English learning. The research is grounded in the need for instructional models that not only enhance speaking skills but also integrate culturally relevant content to create more meaningful learning experiences. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group was employed. The sample consisted of two classes of junior high school students selected through cluster random sampling. The experimental group was taught using digital storytelling media developed from NTB folktales (such as Legenda Putri Mandalika and Gumi Paer Lombok), while the control group received conventional instruction without digital elements or local cultural content. Data were collected using a speaking fluency rubric (covering fluency, pauses, accuracy, and speech rate) and a Likert-scale questionnaire assessing speaking confidence. Data analysis employed paired sample t-tests and independent sample t-tests. The results indicate a significant difference in students’ speaking fluency and confidence between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The implementation of NTB-based digital storytelling was found to provide a more engaging learning experience, increase student participation, and strengthen cultural identity within English language learning. In conclusion, digital storytelling media based on NTB oral traditions is effective in enhancing students’ speaking fluency and confidence, making it a recommended innovative and contextually relevant learning medium for Indonesian schools
