Abstract

Using computers for long periods of time can cause various health problems, especially the eyes. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), the symptoms mentioned, such as eye strain and difficulty focusing, are common in people who frequently use computers for more than 2 hours at work. Therefore, it is important for workers who use computers as a primary aid to take steps to protect their eye health. This type of research is a type of quantitative research, namely quasi-experimental pre-test post-test one group design. This design uses only one group, namely the Experiment group without the Control group. Pre-test and post-test techniques will be carried out on employees using computers at BPJS Claims. The flow of this research is that the researcher conducts a pretest on the sample then is given treatment, after being given treatment then a post test is carried out. Based on the results of the Nonparametric Test using the Wilcoxon Test, the p value (0.001) ? (0.05) can be concluded that the hypothesis in the study is accepted, meaning that there are differences in the level of eye fatigue before and after Eye Exercises and Warm Compresses for Computer User Employees at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital . Based on the measurement results using the observation sheet, most of the employees experienced moderate eye fatigue as many as 12 people, therefore it is expected that computer users can apply the interventions provided and become input and increase workers' knowledge about occupational diseases that arise due to work and are also expected to reduce the level of eye fatigue that occurs in workers.

Abstract

Background: Cervical cancer is an uncontrolled growth that occurs in the cervix that begins in the cells that line it to the bottom of the uterus. Most cervical cancers begin in cells in the transformation zone. Objectives: to determine the relationship between the application of the health belief model (perceived susceptibility; perceived severity; perceived threat; perceived benefits; perceived barriers and cues to action) on the behavior of the IVA (Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid) test in women of reproductive age as an effort to detect cervical cancer early.. Research method: quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional method. The study was conducted at UPT Puskesmas Kilometer 11 from December 2023 to February 2024. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age aged 30-50 years totaling 2488 people. By using purposive sampling technique, a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. Results: There is a relationship between Health Belief Model based on Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived Threat, Perceived Benefits, Perceived Barriers and Action Cues towards IVA test behavior in Reproductive Age Women as an Effort for Early Detection of Cervical Cancer. Perceived susceptibility is the most dominant variable influencing IVA test behavior in reproductive age women as an effort for early detection of cervical cancer. Conclusion: Dairi District Health Office to increase public understanding of the risk of cervical cancer by providing counseling related to IVA, increasing access to health service facilities by increasing the number of health workers trained in IVA and intensifying mass IVA for sub-districts/wards.

Abstract

Adolescents are in a critical stage of growth and development, making reproductive health education essential. This study aimed to analyze the role of leaflet media as an educational tool in improving adolescents' knowledge about reproductive health at SMP Swasta Trisakti Lubuk Pakam. The research used a quantitative design with a pre-test and post-test approach involving 41 respondents selected purposively. Data were collected using questionnaires before and after the health promotion intervention. Analysis was conducted with paired sample t-test. The results show a significant increase in knowledge after leaflet distribution, with respondents in the good knowledge category increasing from 56.1% to 78.0%. The statistical test yielded a p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect. It can be concluded that leaflet media is effective as an educational tool to increase adolescent reproductive health knowledge, and it can be recommended as a school-based health promotion strategy.
