Abstract

Eye injury is an infection or inflammation caused by the entry of objects, substances or other particles into the eye, and can also be caused by continuous exposure to radiation to the eye. One of the jobs that have a potential risk of eye injury is working in welding workshops in the informal sector. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. Using purposive sampling technique with a population of 44 workers and a sample of 30 workers. Collecting data using questionnaires and interviews. The statistical test in this study used the chi-square which aims to determine the factors associated with the risk of eye injury. The results showed that there was a relationship between the variables of working period and the risk of blindness (0.009) (0.005), there was a relationship between the variable length of exposure and the risk of eye injury (0.001) (0.05), there was no relationship between the variable level of knowledge and the risk eye injury (1,000) (0.05), and there is a relationship between the use of PPE and the risk of eye injury (0.001) (0.05). And it can be concluded that of the 4 (four) variables there are 3 variables that have a potential risk of eye injury to welding workers, and it is hoped that the welding workshop manager will pay more attention to his workers in terms of the use of PPE at work, especially when doing the welding process to minimize the risk. unwanted injury.

Abstract

Using computers for long periods of time can cause various health problems, especially the eyes. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), the symptoms mentioned, such as eye strain and difficulty focusing, are common in people who frequently use computers for more than 2 hours at work. Therefore, it is important for workers who use computers as a primary aid to take steps to protect their eye health. This type of research is a type of quantitative research, namely quasi-experimental pre-test post-test one group design. This design uses only one group, namely the Experiment group without the Control group. Pre-test and post-test techniques will be carried out on employees using computers at BPJS Claims. The flow of this research is that the researcher conducts a pretest on the sample then is given treatment, after being given treatment then a post test is carried out. Based on the results of the Nonparametric Test using the Wilcoxon Test, the p value (0.001) ? (0.05) can be concluded that the hypothesis in the study is accepted, meaning that there are differences in the level of eye fatigue before and after Eye Exercises and Warm Compresses for Computer User Employees at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital . Based on the measurement results using the observation sheet, most of the employees experienced moderate eye fatigue as many as 12 people, therefore it is expected that computer users can apply the interventions provided and become input and increase workers' knowledge about occupational diseases that arise due to work and are also expected to reduce the level of eye fatigue that occurs in workers.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in developing countries, primarily due to delays in early detection. According to data from the World Health Organization, there are more than 342,000 cervical cancer-related deaths each year, with 90% of these cases occurring in low- and middle-income countries. In Indonesia, cervical cancer ranks as the second most common cancer after breast cancer, with over 36,000 new cases annually and a death toll reaching 18,000. Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) is a simple and affordable screening method that can be performed at primary healthcare facilities. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge, attitudes, and readiness of couples of reproductive age (CoRA) in conducting early detection of cervical cancer through family-based education. The activity was carried out using lectures supported by media such as leaflets and videos. A total of 30 CoRA participants from the Sukorame health center area took part in the program. The education was delivered through lectures, interactive discussions, and educational video screenings. The education on VIA screening for couples of reproductive age proved effective in improving their understanding, attitudes, and readiness to carry out early detection of cervical cancer. Prior to the education, most participants lacked awareness about the importance of VIA screening. However, after the session, there was a significant increase in knowledge (86.67%), willingness to undergo screening (66.67%), and shared awareness between partners (60%) about the importance of early detection. This interactive and contextual educational approach was effective in building awareness and encouraging preventive action at both family and community levels.

Abstract

The results of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2013 showed that the percentage of children with gross motor development disorders in Indonesia was 12.4%. The child's ability to move (motor) is closely related to one aspect of motion, namely dynamic balance. Dynamic balance is the ability to maintain balance when the body is moving. Any disturbance in balance will affect the child's ability to carry out activities. Balance is the integration of the visual, somatosensory and musculoskeletal systems that will adapt to the environment. This system develops during childhood. Until 10 years, control of dynamic balance in children is not as excellent as in adults. This study was to determine the effect of giving bridging and tightrope walker exercises for dynamic balance in preschoolers. This study is a quasi-experimental with a pre-test & post-test one group design. The sample in this study was 11 children of preschool age at Posyandu Regensi Pratama Depok. The treatments were bridging and tightrope walker exercises. The bridging exercise should be done with holding for 5 seconds, gradually increasing to 10 seconds for 3 sets of 10 repetitions with a rest time between sets of 10 seconds. Meanwhile the tightrope walker exercise is done for 10 repetitions. Training sessions were conducted 2 times a week for 6 weeks. The measuring instrument used is PBS (Pediatric Balance Scale). The research data obtained p value = 0.003 which means that bridging and tightrope walker exercises can increase the level of dynamic balance in preschooler children (p <0.05). The results of this study can be used as a reference to make exercise programs for dynamic balance in preschooler children.
