Abstract

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) continues to increase globally and is projected to triple by 2030. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that requires effective self-management, according to Perkani. The inability of families to understand and recognize their crucial role in caring for DM patients can have serious consequences on the patients' well-being. This study aims to determine the effect of family role education on family support in the ability to care for diabetes mellitus patients. The research design is a quantitative study adopting a Quasi-Experimental method with a Non-Randomized Without Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design approach. The population comprises diabetes patients using the outpatient services at Hermina Hospital Depok in May, with a purposive sampling technique involving 25 respondents. The results indicate that the distribution of family support before the education showed 76% in the unsupportive category, and after the education, it increased to 84%. The Paired Sample T-Test significance was 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Thus, this study shows that family role education has a significant effect on family support in the ability to care for diabetes mellitus patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Sleep is an unconscious state that constitutes one of the basic human needs. Adequate sleep is determined by the amount of sleep (sleep quantity) and the depth of sleep (sleep quality). A lack of sleep can impact various aspects of a person's functioning, particularly memory and concentration. In this context, concentration refers to the ability to focus attention during learning activities. Objective: To determine the effect of passion flower tea on the sleep quality of adolescents at SMA/MA An-Najah, Bogor Regency, in 2022. The research design used was pre-experimental, involving only one group as the experimental class along with a control group. The specific design was the one-group pretest-posttest with control group. Data were collected offline using a questionnaire. The test was conducted twice: before and after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test was used for data analysis. Results: The Wilcoxon test showed that sleep quality before and after the administration of passion flower tea had a significance value of 0.001, indicating a p-value < 0.05. According to the Wilcoxon test interpretation, if the p-value is less than 0.05, the hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion: Passion flower tea has a significant effect on improving sleep quality among adolescents at SMA/MA An-Najah, Bogor Regency, in 2022.

Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of deep breathing relaxation therapy and lemon aroma therapy in relieving pain during menstruation. This study is a Quasi-experimental research using the Two Group Pretest Posttest design with a total of 88 female students from grade VII and VIII at SMP Balrunal Walti Jakarta. Data collection technique uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity. Data analysis in this study uses univariate and bivariate analysis to obtain the correlation or influence of deep breathing relaxation therapy and lemon aroma therapy on the intensity of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent females. The results of the study, through the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, obtained a p-value of 0.000 which is less than the value of α = 0.05. It can be concluded that the use of lemon aroma therapy has an effect on the intensity of primary dysmenorrhea pain in female students of grade VII and VIII at SMP 1 Barunal Wati.

Abstract

Introduction: The risk of violent behavior is a vulnerability to behavior that shows the potential for physical and emotional harm to oneself, others, and the environment. Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) is a therapy that uses simple finger tapping on specific meridian points of the body to help solve physical and psychological problems. This therapy combines psychological energy with spiritual strength, so that SEFT, in addition to being a healing technique, also automatically leads a person into a spiritual realm that connects them to their God. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of SEFT on the signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior in the Women's PHCU Unit. Method: This study used a pre-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test non-equivalent control group design. The study used 17 samples in the intervention group and 17 samples in the control group. This study used Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale - Excited Component (PANSS – EC) to assess signs and symptoms of risk of violent behavior. Result: The results showed a p-value of 0.000 (0.05), indicating that SEFT had an effect on the signs and symptoms of patients at risk of violent behavior. Conclusion: SEFT is very beneficial for reducing the signs and symptoms of patients at risk of violent behavior.
