Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a TGT-based LKPD (Student Worksheet) integrated with Wordwall media for teaching observation report texts to enhance higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in 10th-grade students. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model—Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate—the study systematically assessed the instructional material. The findings indicate that the developed LKPD was deemed highly feasible, receiving ratings of 82% and 87% from material experts and 84% and 86.89% from design experts. Field trials demonstrated a significant improvement in students' HOTS, achieving an effectiveness score of 83.60%. These results confirm that the integration of TGT-based learning with Wordwall media enhances student engagement and comprehension, making it an effective instructional tool for fostering critical thinking skills in language learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop e-books and assess their feasibility in teaching anecdote texts to tenth-grade students at SMK Madani Marindal I. The research population consisted of 65 students from the X TKJ class, with a sample of 35 students selected for the study. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall model, which comprises seven stages: research and data collection, planning, product draft development, initial trials, field trials, refinement of the initial product, further field trials, and final product refinement. Data were collected through a questionnaire, employing observation, interviews, and survey techniques. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of learning materials through digital platforms, enhancing students’ engagement and comprehension of anecdote texts. The findings will also provide insights into the effectiveness of e-books as an alternative instructional medium in vocational high schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and test the feasibility of interactive multimedia learning media using "Articulate Storyline 3" for analyzing linguistic elements in negotiating texts among Class X students at SMK Awal Karya Pembangunan Galang. The sample consisted of 36 students from Class X RPL-1 out of a total population of 76 students. Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed, following the ADDIE model, which included Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The results indicated that the interactive multimedia learning media using "Articulate Storyline 3" was deemed suitable and valid for analyzing linguistic elements in negotiating texts by media experts (92%) and material experts (84.5%). The evaluation by teachers yielded a feasibility level of 94%, and students showed positive responses with an average of 92.5%. In conclusion, the developed learning media is valid and appropriate for instructional purposes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and assess the validity and feasibility of audio-visual-based learning media for Listening Biography Texts in Class X SMA/MA during the Covid-19 period. The development process followed the model proposed by Stephen M. Alessi and Trollip, encompassing planning, design, and development stages. The results revealed that the audio-visual-based learning materials obtained high feasibility ratings from material experts (82% "very feasible" and 78% "adequate") and learning media experts (90% "very eligible" and 77% "eligible"). The developed audio-visual-based learning media proves to be suitable for instructional use, addressing the issues of limited media and low student engagement during the pandemic. This study contributes to the enhancement of effective learning strategies amidst challenging circumstances.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of a learning module for short story writing using picture series media to enhance higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in Class XI of SMK Yaspi Labuhan Deli. The research and development approach was employed, following the 4-D development model by Thiagarajan (1974): definition, design, development, and deployment. The population consisted of 193 students, with a sample size of 30 students. The results demonstrated that the developed learning module met the criteria effectively. The assessment of validity by material experts yielded a percentage value of 78% (good category), and by design experts, it was 95% (very good category). Teachers' assessment of feasibility resulted in 80% (good category), and students' limited trial received 88% (very good category). In conclusion, the learning module for short story writing with picture series media is valid and suitable for implementation as a teaching resource to enhance HOTS in Class XI of SMK Yaspi Labuhan Deli.

Abstract

This study examines Indonesian language learning in class X SMA Budi Agung Medan, focusing on the development of audiovisual-based learning media using Macromedia Flash software. The 2013 curriculum necessitates adaptable learning media to facilitate students' independent learning with teachers as facilitators. However, the current text-based learning approach is limited. The research used the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. Data were collected from media and material experts, as well as lecturers and teachers in Indonesian language studies and learning media. The results showed that the audiovisual-based learning media received a feasibility value of 84.0% (appropriate) for media and 81.0% (adequate) for material. The teacher's response to the media was 80.76%, while the student's response was 80.2%. This study highlights the importance of implementing effective learning media in line with the 2013 curriculum to enhance the learning experience.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize students' ability to read news texts by developing teaching materials based on the Lumio application. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D development model proposed by Thiagarajan (1974) as cited in Sugiyono (2020). The research population comprised 425 students at SMA Negeri 13 Medan, with a purposive sample of 36 students from class XI-11. Data were collected through questionnaires and expert validations, incorporating both qualitative feedback and quantitative scores. Validation results from material experts indicated feasibility with scores of 85% and 95%, while media experts yielded 98% and 92%. These results demonstrate that the developed teaching materials are highly suitable for classroom implementation. The product trial at SMA Negeri 13 Medan showed a teacher response rate of 94%. Student response data from the product trial reached 88.83%, categorized as "Very Effective." These findings suggest that the news text teaching materials assisted by the Lumio application are both highly feasible and effective for use in high school learning environments.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of picture and picture learning models in writing essays of class IX students of Medan Ulumul Qur'an Public Private Class IX. The method used in this study is an experimental method that is the post-test only design group method. The instrument used to capture the assignment data is writing an argumentation essay. From the data processing results obtained the average experimental class was 78.09, while the average control class was 71.66. Thus the value of the experimental class is higher than the control class. After testing the hypothesis obtained = 23.81 at a significant level a = 5% from the distribution list t dk 40, then obtained = 2.021. If the price is compared with the apparent price> (23.81> 2.021), it can be stated that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis(Ha) is accepted. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of picture and picture learning models in writing argumentation essays is more effective than expository learning methods. Keywords: picture and picture learning model, writing, argument essay
