Abstract

This study is directed to explore the teachers’ and students’ thoughts on instructional components involved in CBI tasks for productive skills learning in Indonesian secondary school context. There are ten teachers with more than five years of experience teaching English and eighty-six students taken as respondents. The findings reported the teacher voices focus on appropriate instructional components to support design of task-based learning through CBI approach, namely learning objective, learning material, learning activity, class organization, delivery mode, skill focus, use of media, learning resource, students’ worksheet and evaluation. In designing CBI tasks, learning objectives firstly formulated based on basic competence, the selection of learning material theme is surrounding-based materials and cultural-based materials, learning activities are organized in pairs and group in order to active interaction process in a learning atmosphere. They recommended to utilize web-based materials as learning resources and arrange students’ worksheet to empower the autonomous practical activity. Additionally, the students’ voices on contents of productive skills tasks clarified the tasks cover vocabulary, specific information, caption of picture, reading text, short dialogue and short paragraph as well as including the integration of language sub skills and skills. It is supportive contents for English learning tasks based on CBI approach.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas peranan kimia lingkungan dalam pengembangan kebijakan geografi berkelanjutan dengan cara yang komprehensif dan mendalam. Fokus utama kajian ini adalah memahami bagaimana aktivitas manusia, terutama di sektor industri dan pertanian, berinteraksi dengan lingkungan dan menciptakan dampak yang signifikan. Melalui analisis literatur dan studi kasus, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan prinsip-prinsip kimia lingkungan dalam mendukung kebijakan yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan. Artikel ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya integrasi ilmu kimia dalam proses pengambilan keputusan kebijakan lingkungan, dengan menekankan pada pengembangan teknologi ramah lingkungan, pemantauan kualitas lingkungan, dan penerapan solusi berbasis ilmu pengetahuan untuk mitigasi pencemaran. Studi kasus dari berbagai negara, seperti penerapan Sistem 3R di Jepang dan pendekatan holistik di negara-negara Nordik, memberikan contoh konkret bagaimana kebijakan yang efektif dapat diimplementasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan lingkungan yang berbasis ilmu pengetahuan tidak hanya dapat mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem tetapi juga meningkatkan efisiensi ekonomi dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan bagi pengembangan kebijakan lingkungan yang lebih efektif, berbasis data, dan berkelanjutan, serta menginspirasi kolaborasi multisektor untuk menciptakan masa depan yang lebih sehat dan harmonis bagi planet kita.

Abstract

Enrekang Regency is one of the areas in South Sulawesi with a topography of producing vegetable commodities, but apart from that this area also produces superior commodities that are only produced in Salukanan Village, Baraka District, namely local rice flavored rice known as "Pulu Mandoti". This study aims to analyze external factors (strengths and weaknesses) and internal factors (opportunities and threats) to formulate a development strategy for agribusiness development of "Pulu Mandoti" flavored rice. This research was carried out in Enrekang Regency, by determining several respondents who involved the head of the agriculture department, epala Bappeda, the head of Gapoktan. The analysis used is process hierarchical analysis, which shows that the strategy to develop flavored rice known as "Pulu Mandoti" starts from technical aspects, policy aspects and economic aspects.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah perawatan dan pemeliharaan peninggalan Sejarah yaitu Bungker Jepang serta pengembang Potensi Pariwisata peninggalan sejarah Buncker Jepang. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan ini Adapun proses pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diawali dengan observasi lapangan dimana dilakukan selama beberapa hari, dan dilanjutkan pertemuan dengan masyarakat diaula desa bola perawatan dan pemeliharaan peninggalan Sejarah yaitu Bungker Jepang serta pengembang Potensi Pariwisata peninggalan sejarah Buncker Jepang. Hasil 1) Hal yang pertama dilakukan adalah membersihkan diarea sekitar peninggalan sejarah yaitu bungker jepang, 2) melakukan pengukuran selanjutnya membuat gambar design Pembuatan Gapura Bungker Jepang, 3) Perencanaan/desain Gazebo Buncker Jepang Desa Bola, 4) Rencana adanya pemasangan patok rambu rambu jalan menuju ke bungker jepang di situ rencana dibuatkan guardrail sebagai penahan dan apabila terjadinya kecelakaan, 5) banyaknya bangunan atau objek wisata yang tidak terawat dan dibiarkan begitu saja, 6) tidak adanya listrik di dalam terowongan bungker jepang, 7) tidak adanya perawatan dan hilangnya bagian tempat terpenting peninggalan itu dan tidak adanya himbauan atau larangan di area situs sejarah bangker jepang, dan 8) menumbuhkan kesadaran pemerintah daerah, masyrakat, tokoh masyarakat, tokoh pemuda serta seluruh lapisan masyarakat untuk serta menjaga dan merawat situr sejarah yaitu bungker jepang. Kesimpulan Adapun proses pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diawali dengan observasi lapangan dimana dilakukan selama beberapa hari, dan dilanjutkan pertemuan dengan masyarakat diaula desa bola sehingga melihat tidak adanya Gapura Buncker Jepang, tidak adanya Gazebo di Bungker, patok rambu rambu jalan menuju ke bungker jepang, banyaknya bangunan atau objek wisata yang tidak terawat dan dibiarkan begitu saja, tidak adanya listrik di dalam terowongan bungker jepang dan tidak adanya perawatan dan hilangnya bagian tempat terpenting peninggalan. serta menumbuhkan kesadaran pemerintah daerah, masyrakat, tokoh masyarakat, tokoh pemuda serta seluruh lapisan masyarakat untuk serta menjaga dan merawat situr sejarah yaitu bungker jepang.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development, feasibility, and effectiveness of Learning With Music Media for Poetry Text Material in Class X High School. Following the ADDIE developer model, the study progresses through research, data collection, design, product development, implementation, and evaluation. The population consists of 318 students, with a sample of 33 students. The developed product received a "Decent" rating, with media experts I and II providing "Very Eligible" criteria of 90% and 89%, respectively. Material experts I and II rated it as "Decent" at 80% and 82%. Teacher assessment yielded a "Very Eligible" rating of 96%. Field implementation with 33 students from class X IPA 3 at MAN 3 Langkat achieved a "Very Eligible" rating of 90%. The effectiveness test, conducted through evaluation sheets, revealed a "Very Effective" criterion of 90.15%.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the use of the YouCut application in writing debate texts for Class X at SMK Musda Perbaungan. The study involved 481 students, with a sample of 32 students from class X RPL 1. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This research used the Borg and Gall research and development (R&D) model, comprising seven stages: needs analysis, media planning, initial product development, small group trials, initial stage revisions, large group trials, and final revision and product finalization. The results indicated that the YouCut-assisted learning media significantly improved students' skills in writing debate texts. Validation by material experts yielded scores of 80% and 81%, while media experts rated it at 80% and 92%. Feasibility tests with teachers and students showed positive results, with Indonesian language teachers scoring it at 92% and students giving an average score of 97%.

Abstract

Writing is one of communicative act that it is a process of expressing ideas, opinions, and ideas. It will be produced in some sequences of sentence by using graphic symbols. Writing process is more complex than this of course, and the various stages of drafting, reviewing, redrafting and writing. The method that the researcher employed in this research was quasi-experimental design. The data were analyzed by using quantitative approach. Apply two groups pre-test, post-test, namely experimental and control groups. The objective of the research is to find out whether or not the use of local culture contextual -based approach can improve the writing ability to the Second Semester Students of English Education Department of Muhammadiyah University of Parepare. It was proved by the difference between pretest and posttest result in experimental and control class. While, the result of the t-test in posttest was 3.380 and the t-table was 2.024. It showed that t-test value was greater than t-table value. Learning through a local culture-based approach is able to improve students' writing skills because based on the data found, students seem interested in the learning being carried out. several influencing factors are: (1) students feel this learning is very close to them because it raises the culture around them. (2) The involvement of students is increased considering that the presentation of text learning presented in learning is very closely related to local events, environment, norms and culture. (3) Students understand important themes and issues that are connected to their own knowledge and experiences.

Abstract

Inequality of income distribution and its determinants still leaves mixed debate and empirical findings. The source of inequality in population income distribution is in Eastern Indonesia (KTI) in line with the economic development performance that is still low compared to Western Indonesia (KBI). This study aims to examine the socio-economic factors that influence the income distribution gap in KTI, with a focus on economic growth, employment opportunities, farmer exchange rates, regional minimum wages, and education. Quantitative analysis tools used are panel data regression models with fixed effect model estimation techniques. The data used is panel data of 12 provinces in Eastern Indonesia, for the period 2010-2017. The results showed that both partially and simultaneously economic growth, employment opportunities, farmer exchange rates, and education levels contributed significantly to reducing the income distribution gap. The recommendation for regional governments is to accelerate economic growth accompanied by the expansion of employment opportunities and education development equally, and also the optimization of agricultural sector development.

Abstract

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is an approach to English language teaching that focuses on the specific needs of learners in professional and academic contexts. The implementation of ESP in the secondary education curriculum can provide significant advantages in preparing students for specific communication demands in the future. This article aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of ESP in secondary education curriculum through a comprehensive literature review. The reviewed literature was selected based on the criteria of publication date, relevance, research type, and reliable source. Data were collected from various academic databases such as Scientific research, Science Direct, Wiley Online library, Google Scholar, Internet TESL Journal, Open edition journals and etc. The data analysis process involved thematic coding and synthesizing information from the selected articles. The findings show that ESP implementation faces major challenges such as a shortage of trained teachers, limited educational resources, and resistance to curriculum change. However, there are great opportunities that can be exploited, including the utilization of digital technology, international collaboration, and the integration of ESP with the national curriculum. Overcoming these challenges requires continuous teacher training programs, development of technology-based learning materials, and inclusive approaches in curriculum planning. International collaboration can also provide valuable practical experience for students and teachers. The implementation of ESP in secondary education has great potential to improve students' English competence in specific contexts. Further research is needed to develop effective teacher training programs, innovative learning materials, and adaptive curriculum implementation strategies. Abstract

Tinjauan literatur ini mengeksplorasi peran sastra dalam Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris (ELT), dengan mengkaji teks-teks klasik dan kontemporer. Kajian ini menyoroti manfaat pedagogis dari pengintegrasian sastra ke dalam pengajaran bahasa, termasuk pengembangan kemampuan bahasa, kesadaran budaya, pemikiran kritis, dan kecerdasan emosional. Pendekatan metodologis yang dibahas berkisar dari penggunaan Shakespeare dan literatur klasik lainnya hingga novel kontemporer dan teknik berbasis drama. Kajian ini juga membahas tantangan seperti pemilihan teks, kesiapan guru, dan penggabungan teknologi digital. Praktik-praktik inovatif seperti pembelajaran campuran, unit tematik, dan pedagogi yang responsif terhadap budaya diidentifikasi sebagai strategi yang efektif untuk mengatasi tantangan-tantangan ini. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pemilihan teks yang bijaksana dan pengembangan profesional bagi para pendidik, serta perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai dampak jangka panjang dari ELT berbasis literatur dan peran sumber daya digital. Dengan memanfaatkan potensi sastra yang kaya, para pendidik dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar bahasa yang menarik dan efektif yang mempersiapkan peserta didik untuk menghadapi kompleksitas abad ke-21.
