Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a textbook on Embryology and Animal Reproduction based on the research on the development of mouse embryos by adding DEET (Diethyltoluamide) that was appropriate and validated by material, media and language experts. This research is a development study of textbooks on animal embryology and reproduction based on the results of research on the development of mouse embryos by adding DEET. The development of this textbook refers to the 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, et al. (1974) which consisted of 4 stages, namely Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate, which were modified to be adapted to this study. This development research produced a textbook on Embryology and Animal Reproduction based on research on the development of mouse embryos by adding proper DEET and validating it by material, media and language experts.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan buku ajar Animal Development Berbasis model REACT yaitu Relating (mengaitkan), Experiencing (mengalami), Applying (menerapkan), Cooperating (Bekerjasama), Transferring (mentransfer). Metode analisis kebutuhan telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D Thiagarajan hingga tahap pendefinisian (define).. Subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi IKIP Budi Utomo Malang yang telah menempuh matakuliah perkembangan hewan sebanyak 40 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan observasi, angket kepada mahasiswa dan dosen. Hasil belajar berdasarkan angket menunjukkan bahwa sumber belajar yang kurang relevan. 75 persen mahasiswa masih kesulitan mengikuti perkuliahan, sehingga 100 persen mahasiswa setuju setuju dan menyatakan perlu dikembangkan buku ajar perkembangan Hewan Berbasis model REACT. Hasil analisis kebutuhan untuk dosen pengampu matakuliah perkembangan hewan menyatakan bahwa sangat perlu dikembangkan buku ajar berbasis model REACT khususnya materi pembelahan sel karena model ini mampu memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa dan dapat melatih pembelajaran mandiri dalam memahami materi perkembangan hewan. Abstract: This study aims to analyze the requirement Animal Development textbooks based on the REACT model, namely Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring. The method of analyzing needs has been done by Thiagarajan's 4D development model to the defining stage. The research subjects were students of Biology Education IKIP Budi Utomo Malang who had taken animal development courses as many as 40 people. Data collection techniques carried out by observing, conducting questionnaires to students and lecturers the result of the study based on questionaire showed that the lack of relevant learning resources. 75 percent students still had difficulty attending lectures, Moreover 100 percent students agreed to use a textbook based on the development of Animal-Based REACT models. The results of the analysis of the need for lecturers supporting animal development courses states that it is very necessary to develop textbooks based on the REACT model especially cell division material because this model can empower students' thinking abilities and can practice independent learning in understanding animal development material.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengembangan buku ajar bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku ajar matakuliah perkembangan hewan berbasis hasil penelitian regenerasi sirip kaudal ikan Gatul (Poecilia sp.) sebagai kandidat hewan model dibidang biologi perkembangan, yang nantinya dapat digunakan sebagai buku penunjang dalam proses pembelajaran mahasiswa pendidikan biologi, IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. Metode dalam pengembangan buku ajar ini menggunakan model pengembangan Hannafin Peck (1988) yang terdiri dari tiga fase yakni (1) fase analisis kebutuhan (need assessment), (2) fase desain (design), dan  (3) fase pengembangan dan implementasi (develop/implement). Tahapan yang dilakukan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan produk, pembuatan produk berupa buku ajar, dan validasi produk. Model pengembangan ini berorientasi pada produk. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa angket dan wawancara, selanjutnya data dianalisis sesara deskriptif dari hasil validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan uji perorangan (uji keterbacaan) pada mahaiswa dalam skala besar. Hasil validasi ahli materi menunjukkan skor sebesar 96,66%, validasi ahli media memiliki skor sebesar 97,25%, dan validasi perorangan (uji keterbacaan) memperoleh skor sebesar 94,48%. Berdasarkan hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa baik ahli materi, ahli media maupun uji perorangan sangat layak digunakan dengan katagori sangat valid.

Abstract

Abstract: This study analyzes textbooks based on research in biotechnology courses related to the principles of Forensic DNA discussion that need to be developed. The research method used in the development model Hanafin Peck (1988) at the beginning of the needs analysis. Research subjects were 45 biology education students who had taken Biotechnology courses. The instrument used consisted of a questionnaire distributed to students and lecturers supporting biotechnology courses and interview techniques. The results showed that in the learning process do not use textbooks and as much as 94% of students need the development of textbooks that are equipped with interesting pictures and practicum guides in them. Research results, so that the learning process becomes more directed, contextual and enjoyable Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis buku ajar berbasis hasil penelitian pada matakuliah bioteknologi terkait dengan pokok bahasan DNA Forensik yang perlu dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merujuk pada model pengembangan Hanafin Peck (1988) pada tahap awal yaitu analisis kebutuhan. Subjek penelitian adalah 45 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi yang telah mengambil matakuliah Bioteknologi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa dan dosen pengampu matakuliah bioteknologi serta teknik wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses pembelajaran belum menggunakan buku ajar dan sebanyak 94% mahasiswa menginginkan pengembangan buku ajar yang dilengkapi dengan gambar yang menarik dan petujuk praktikum yang didalamnya memuat hasil penelitian, sehingga proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih terarah, kontekstual dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

A healthy lifestyle is a long-term lifestyle choice with a good lifestyle with a commitment to doing several things to support the body's functions, thereby providing health effects for the body, while drug abuse is drug use that is done not for medicinal purposes, but because they want to enjoy it. influence, in excessive amounts. The purpose of conducting counseling activities on healthy lifestyles and the dangers of drugs at SMP Global Islamic School Al-Amin Gondanglegi using seminar and discussion methods is to increase students knowledge and insight so that they understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and avoiding negative things such as drugs. Based on the target students as the target of counseling activities, it is concluded that counseling on healthy lifestyles and the dangers of drugs with lectures and discussions increases the active role of students in thinking critically about lifestyle and drug problems, besides that the counseling activities carried out add to the insight of students so that the results of counseling can be applied daily and students avoid the dangers of drugs that damage the future of the nation.

Abstract

One form of local culture that contains scientific wisdom is the wiwitan tradition related to ecology, astronomy, and natural management that is still relevant to modern scientific concepts. However, not all elements of society know about the wiwitan tradition, especially the younger generation. The wiwitan tradition, which is local wisdom, is an ancestral heritage that must be preserved, one of which is through an ethnoscience approach. The wiwitan tradition has undergone transformation along with globalization. The study of the transformation of wiwitan culture in the context of modern science has never been studied. This study aims to study the transformation of wiwitan culture in the context of modern science, using an ethnoscience approach. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using interview techniques with farmers who have knowledge of the wiwitan tradition. Data analysis uses techniques of grouping, describing, classifying, and interpreting data. The results of the study indicate that ethnoscience studies on the wiwitan tradition are found in the types of offering plants related to biodiversity, implementation before harvest time related to the natural cycle and astronomy, values ??contained in the tradition related to sustainable agriculture. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating local knowledge in the context of modern science to maintain local wisdom and enrich science. This research is expected to continue in other ethnoscience studies of local wisdom.

Abstract

This research comprehensively investigates the pedagogical effectiveness of integrating Augmented Reality (AR)-based digital visualization, facilitated by Assemblr EDU platform using Anchored Instruction (AI) learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method employed was a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design, involving 60 seventh grade students (average age of 13-15 years old) from Global Islamic School Al Amin Junior High School Gondanglegi. The primary instrument for data collection was a valid and reliable critical thinking skills test (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.82), which was specifically designed to measure six crucial aspects of critical thinking. The experimental group adopted learning process that integrated an environmental pollution case study as an anchor by utilizing interactive AR model and visualization creation task using Assemblr EDU. In contrast, the control group was given a lesson using the same AI model but without the AR digital visualization component. The research findings portrayed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) in the improvement of critical thinking skills scores between the experimental group (mean gain score 19.7, SD = 3.1) and the control group (mean gain score 9.7, SD = 2.8). The Cohen's d effect size of 2.56 indicated a powerful impact of the intervention. This research provides important implications for science education practice, highlighting the transformative potential of visualization technology, particularly AR through easily accessible platforms such as Assemblr EDU, in enhancing student engagement, facilitating the understanding of complex concepts and empowering the development of their critical thinking skills in facing the increasingly complex environmental challenges

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a handout based on the results of a DNA Fingerprinting Profile in Javanese-Arabic Ethnics in Malang, East Java, Indonesia for the course of Evolution. Development (Handout) was carried out based on the 4D development model of Thiagarajan. The 4D model has 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate, while the research to be carried out is only limited to the develop stage. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education Study Program IKIP Budi Utomo Malang who had taken as many as 40 evolutionary subjects. Data analysis techniques used to analyze quantitative data in the form of validation scores from two material experts, two media experts and readability tests. The instruments used to collect data in the study included validation sheets and questionnaires. The results of the material expert validation analysis included aspects of the completeness of the material, material, questions about evaluation and aspects of material development. The results of expert media validation analysis include aspects of Handout size, Cover Design Handout, Cover Handout Typography, Cover Handout Illustration aspects, Handout Content Design, Typography of Handout Content, Handout Illustration, Language Feasibility, and Presentation Completeness. The results of the readability test analysis include aspects of the material ease, the victory of the handout of understanding material, and renewal of material. Based on the results of the analysis data in this development research, it can be concluded that the average results of the assessment from the material expert validator was obtained with a percentage of 89.85% with the category Very Valid. The average assessment results from media expert validators with a percentage of 98.22% with the category Very Valid. The average assessment results from the readability test with a percentage of 92.73% with the category Very Valid.
