Abstract

The average prevalence of stunting toddlers in Indonesia from 2005 to 2017 is 36.4%. Incidence of stunting toddlers (short) is a major nutritional problem faced by Indonesia. Stunting cases in the Riau Islands reached 24 percent of the number of babies born in 2018. One of the causes of stunting is the lack of nutrients fulfilment during pregnancy, including anemia in pregnancy. Currently, there is no media module and application for stunting prevention health promotion. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the "No Anemia No Stunting" (Si NaNing) application and the Si NaNing Module on stunting prevention. The study was conducted in Tanjungpinang City in May-November 2020. The research design was quasi-experimental with pre-posttest with control group design. The instrument used is a structured questionnaire. Data collection is during the pre test and post test. The population is all pregnant women in Tanjungpinang City. The sample is 30 respondents/pregnant women from Independent Practice of Midwives in Tanjungpinang City. Data analysis used Dependent T Test for the intervention group (application) and Wilcoxon for the control group (module). The results showed that there was a significant difference in knowledge (p value 0.001), attitude (p value 0.001), and motivation (p value 0.001) in pregnant women before and after being given health education using the Si NaNing application. Meanwhile, in the module group, only motivation (p value 0.000) had a significant difference.

Abstract

Dental health education is a crucial preventive measure in shaping healthy lifestyle behaviors from an early age. The success of education depends not only on the content of the material, but also on the effectiveness of the media and methods used to convey the message in an interactive and easily understandable way to children. This study aims to determine the changes in the index before and after education on how to brush teeth at Global Mandiri Kindergarten. This was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving a total sample of 57 kindergarten B students. The intervention consisted of education on the purpose of brushing teeth, choosing the right toothbrush, brushing techniques (roll technique), brushing duration, and the use of fluoride toothpaste. The debris index was examined before and after the interactive education with the Playstore GigiKuHartaKu program. Results: Examination before the education showed a moderate to poor debris index category. After the intervention, there was a change in the debris index category to good and moderate. There was a significant decrease in the debris index from 2.11 to 0.711, with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention, in the form of interactive and structured dental education, significantly improved dental hygiene in young children. These findings reinforce the importance of promotional education in the school environment as the foundation for long-term healthy living behaviors.

Abstract

This study addresses the vital role of information as a reproductive health right and emphasizes the responsibility of family planning officers, including health workers, to disseminate accurate information for ensuring public reproductive health. The research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of SITEPIS Contraception, an online information service designed to aid family planning officers in conveying contraceptive information. SITEPIS is a web application offering comprehensive information on contraception, medical eligibility criteria, and a live chat service. This study involves 28 family planning officers at sub-district and village levels in Bogor and West Lombok districts. Employing a descriptive research approach, the study includes socialization events introducing Sitepis Contraception, encouraging usage, and collecting officers' evaluations. Results indicate positive feedback from all officers, citing the website's appealing design, user-friendly accessibility, and essential features for effective information delivery. Despite challenges related to internet network support in certain areas, officers express willingness to use the SITEPIS website for their community information duties. Notably, while face-to-face interaction is preferred by most officers, SITEPIS contraception serves as a valuable tool for information dissemination. The study underscores the underutilization of online information as the primary method among family planning officers in Indonesia. Despite this, it recognizes the potential of online platforms, like SITEPIS, in reaching diverse societal levels. The findings emphasize the need for further examination of SITEPIS Contraception from the community's perspective, the primary target audience, to enhance its effectiveness. In conclusion, the study advocates for the integration of online information tools to empower family planning officers in fulfilling their crucial role as information providers.
