Abstract

Educational philosophy is the theoretical basis that underlies approaches, methods, and values in the learning process in elementary school. This research discusses the application of educational philosophy by teachers in elementary schools (SD) with a focus on various philosophical schools that influence educational practice. This research method uses a literature review with descriptive analysis methods. Data was collected through library and documentation techniques by accessing various sources, such as books, journals, and related documents. Data analysis was carried out using a content analysis model. The results and discussion identify the role of teachers as educators, instructors, mentors, leaders, learning managers, and models/exemplars. Several philosophical schools such as Idealism, Naturalism, Pragmatism, Existentialism, and Perennialism, influence educational approaches, methods, and goals. Challenges in implementing educational philosophy for teachers involve limitations in the school curriculum, limited resources, and educators' lack of understanding of the concepts and principles of educational philosophy. This research contributes to understanding how educational philosophy can be integrated into educational practice at the elementary school level. The identified challenges can also become a basis for policymakers and educational decision-makers to increase the application of educational philosophy in the elementary school context, by paying attention to the balance between academic aspects and philosophical values.

Abstract

Basically, education is an experiment that will never be finished, as long as there is human life in this world, because education is part of human culture and civilization which continues to develop. There are several principles in education, including the process of acculturating and learning students which lasts throughout life on the basis of love. This love is the main capital for teachers who have a dual role and function in the educational process, namely as educators and at the same time as second parents at school. As educators, teachers must use their professionalism in educating, teaching, guiding and directing their students. As parents, teachers must show affection for students as well as for their own children. This requires a process and maximum effort by the teacher as an agent of change. The curriculum is one of the main components of the educational process. The 2013 SD/MI curriculum uses an integrated thematic learning approach. Integrated thematic learning is a learning approach that integrates various competencies from various subjects into various themes. The themes chosen relate to nature and human life and are close to children's lives. Therefore, thematic learning raises themes that are close to students' lives and their environment so that it provides meaning for students because it attracts students' interests and talents so that it helps in completing work or for the students' own future.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of media in learning, which often leads to passive and disengaged students. One effort to address this issue is the development of interactive learning media using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Google Sites. The aim of this study is to produce valid and practical interactive learning media and to determine its effectiveness in fifth-grade elementary school students. This research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) approach, using the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection involved observations and interviews with teachers and students across three schools. The designed teaching materials were validated for content, implemented with students, and assessed for practicality and effectiveness through questionnaires and test instruments. Results show that the teacher practicality score averaged 94.69, and the student practicality score averaged 86.15, both in the "very practical" category. The student activity score was 84.40 ("very active"), learning outcomes averaged 89.39 ("effective"), and the N-Gain Score averaged 0.8 with a gain percentage of 75.67% ("effective"). These findings indicate that Google Sites-assisted learning media using the PBL model is valid, practical, and effective, and can serve as an alternative instructional tool in elementary education.

Abstract

This research is aimed at examining the best forecasting model for peanut price and analyzing the spatial market integration of peanuts in Bengkulu province. Monthly data of peanut from 2004:1 – 2013:12 are used for this research and three trend model, i.e., linear, quadratic and exponential trend are applied in which the selection of the best model is based on the lowest value of MAPE, MAD, and MSD. The VAR model of market integration is applied and combined with cointegration and Granger Causality test. This research finds that the best forecasting model is quadratic trend model. This research also concludes that spatial market of peanuts in Bengkulu has already well integrated and each district interplays a peanut price.
