Abstract

In reality, the score in science subject of RSBI students? was unsatisfied, so that a research was conducted. The aim of this research was to differentiate the concept comprehension and  the student ability in concept map between the implementation of underlining and 3R strategies. The research sample was 32 students from  two groups  that were underlining and 3R strategies using pretest-posttest control group design. Data were analyzed using t test (? = 0,05). The result of this research proved that the concept comprehension and the concept map increased  in both strategies. There was difference in the concept comprehension between two strategies (p= 0,018)  but there was no difference in the concept map (p= 0,221). They also shown that self assessment for student skill strategy and student respond in good categories, and the implementation of lesson plan was in very good category. The research revealed that there were differences between two strategies for concept comprehension, but the students? ability in concept map were no differKenyataan di lapangan nilai siswa RSBI pada mata pelajaran IPA belum memuaskan, maka dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk membedakan penguasaan konsep dan peta konsep siswa. Sampel penelitian 32 siswa dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok strategi menggarisbawahi dan kelompok strategi 3R dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Data dianalisis melalui uji t (? = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai penguasaan konsep maupun skor peta konsep meningkat pada masing-masing strategi. Ada perbedaan nilai penguasaan konsep antara kedua strategi (p = 0,018) namun tidak ada perbedaan skor peta konsep (p = 0,22). Selain itu didapatkan pula hasil penilaian diri keterampilan strategi siswa dan respon siswa dalam kategori baik serta keterlaksanaan RPP dengan hasil sangat baik. Simpulan penelitian didapatkan, untuk penguasaan konsep berbeda antara kedua strategi, sedangkan kemampuan siswa dalam membuat peta konsep tidak berbeda.

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to increase learning outcome, through the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model Type Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) with peer tutor technique on XI Science Grade of SMAN 1 Tenggarong.This Pre-Experimental study was conducted on two stages are, lesson plan preparation and learning implementation on the class.  This study used One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The data were collected from observation, test and questionnaire.  After the data were analyzed, the results showed that(1) The feasibility of lesson plan could be categorized as very good; (2) The highest of student activity was to fulfill the student worksheets (16.3%); (3) Student responses to learning activity classified as good.  Generally, the most favored of science process skills were explorate, associate and communicate; (4) Learning outcomes were: (a) for cognitive score, the proportion of score test was increased  from 0,27 (pretest) to 0,90 (posttest) with the highest of average gain score was 0,87; (b) the student  skill achievement was very good; (c)  the student attitude was good; (d)  the mastery of individually and classical student learning have increased. It can be conclude that the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model Type Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) with peer tutor technique is effective to increase learning outcome. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI)  dengan teknik tutor sebaya pada siswa kelas XI IPA di SMAN 1 Tenggarong. Penelitian Pre Experiment ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu persiapan perangkat pembelajaran dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi, tes, dan kuisioner. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitpbl atif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1)  keterlaksanaan  RPP sangat baik; (2) aktifitas siswa tertinggi adalah mengisi LKS (16.3%) ; (3) respon siswa pada kegiatan pembelajaran rata-rata baik. Keterampilan proses sains yang disenangi umumnya mengeksplorasi, mengasosiasi dan mengkomunikasikan; (4) hasil belajar : (a) pengetahuan mengalami peningkatan proporsi hasil test dari 0.27 pada pretest menjadi 0.90 pada posttest dengan rata-rata score gain kategori tinggi (0.87); (b) nilai keterampilan sangat baik (3.44); (c) nilai sikap baik (3.13); (d) ketuntasan individu dan klasikal mengalami kenaikan dari 0% menjadi 100%.  Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI)  yang dipadukan dengan teknik tutor sebaya efektif dalam  meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The reality found in school showed that the teaching and learning experiences were dominated by the use of the Direct Instruction model and there were no activities to facilitate students to think criticaly. Thus, it is necessary to develop  guided discovery learning materials to overcome it. The one group pretest-posttest design was used as a the research design involving 30 Junior High School students. The data were analyzed through descriptive qualitative technique. The results showed that students? activities were consistent with each stage of the guided discovery learning, students? responses were good, and N-gain test informed that the students? learning outcome and their  capability  to use  critical  thinking  skills  increased.  Based  on  those  findings,  it  can  be  concluded  that  the  guided  discovery instructional materials were effective to facilitate Junior High School students by think critically.Kenyataan di sekolah metode pembelajaran yang digunakan lebih berorientasi pada Direct Instruction dan belum  tersedia    perangkat  pembelajaran yang  dapat  melatih  keterampilan  berpikir  kritis  siswa  sehingga  perlu dikembangkan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada penemuan terbimbing untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis kepada siswa SMP. Rancangan penelitian one group pretest-posttest design dengan subyek 30 orang siswa SMP. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahapan penemuan terbimbing, respon siswa baik, uji N Gain menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, pokok bahasan peran manusia dalam pengelolaan lingkungan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP.

Abstract

After doing research by using 5E Learning Cycle Model through Guided Discovery learning with the topic of Human Reproduction System, it aimed to increase the student learning outcomes.  The subjects were 35 students of SMA Negeri 4 Samarinda, which used One group pretest-posttest design. The data were analyzed by using quantitative-qualitative description, the results are : (1) The feasibility of lesson plan categorized as good; (2) Student activity with a good instrument reliability; (3) Student learning outcomes had increased with the average score was 85 (N-gain score was 0,76).  According to analyzed data, it can be concluded that 5E Learning Cycle Model through Guided Discovery can be used to increase student learning outcomes. Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbasis Guided Discovery pada pokok bahasan Sistem reproduksi  manusia, dengan tujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Subyek penelitian 35 siswa SMA Negeri 4 Samarinda menggunakan rancangan One Group Pretest and Postest Design. Data adalah hasil kompetensi pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap. Data tersebut dianalisis dengan hasil sebagai berikut: (1) Keterlaksanaan RPP dengan kategori baik; (2) aktivitas siswa dengan realibilitas instrumen berkategori baik; (3) THB untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa terhadap materi sistem reproduksi manusia dengan rata-rata skor 85 yang secara keseluruhan mengalami peningkatan Gain 0.76. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa Model Learning Cycle 5E berbasis Guided Discovery dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa

Abstract

A develop research was done about science learning materials (lesson plans, student’s worksheets, student’s book, and learning achivement test) Scientific approach to the 4D models to teach life skills and the aim of improving student learning outcomes. This research was trial to 35 of junior high school’s students of class VII academic year 2014/2015 with One-group pretest-posttest design. Analysis data is descriptive quantitative-qualitative and the results are Validity of learning material valid (3.50);  Practicalitybased on:  Readability of worksheets and teaching materials 86% students interesting and easy to understand; Feasibility of instruction good category (3.5); Students response of positive (97%);  Effectiveness based on: Student activities are student center; student learning achivement increased (N-Gain: 0.75); Ability Life skills (Thinking skills, academic skills, social skills) have been trained and the result is increased. The conclusions of this research that science learning material with base Scientific approach to teach Life skills and and improve the student learning achivement in junior high school. Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran (RPP, LKS, Materi Ajar, Tes Hasil Belajar) dengan pendekatan Scientific model 4D yang bertujuan untuk melatihkan Life skills dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMP. Perangkat pembelajaran diujicoba pada 35 siswa kelas VII semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/ 2015 dengan rancangan uji coba One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif- kualitatif dengan hasil Validitas perangkat kategori valid(3,50), Kepraktisan perangkat yang meliputi: Keterbacaan LKS dan materi ajar siswa 86% menarik dan mudah dipahami; Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sangat baik (3,5) ; Respon siswa positif (97%);  Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang meliputi:  Aktivitas siswa bersifat student centered; Hasil belajar siswa meningkat (N-Gain: 0,75); Kemampuan Life skills (Thinking skills, academic skills, social skills) telah dilatihkan dan hasilnya meningkat. Simpulan penelitian ini, bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan Scientific layak untuk melatihkan life skills dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMP.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve the Junior High School students science process skills. A set of instructional programs consisting of lesson implementation plan, student workbook, student worksheet, and assessment sheet, were developed based on the guided discovery method. Before the implementation, all of the instructional programs were validated and met the defined criteria. Thirty Blega Junior High School students involved in this investigation using One Group Pretest-Postest Design.Instructional package is valid, management of guided discovery learning between 3.5 until 4,0 (good)with reliability between 99% until 100% (reliabel). The most dominant student activity is practice science process skills (20,07%). Mastery tests of student learning outcomes and processes to better cognitive test increase 93%, science process skills 100% with gain score both of them 71% (high). Based on the results of this investigation can be concluded the developed guided discovery instructional programs is effective to improve the Junior High School students science process skills. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil belajar siswa mata pelajararan IPA yang rendah, kemungkinan di sebabkan keterampilan proses yang rendah, untuk itu perlu kiranya membuat perangkat pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran yang dimaksud adalah silabus, RPP, LKS, buku siswa, instrumen penilaian hasil belajar. Pengembanga nperangkat berorientasi Dick dan Carey dengan metode penemuan terbimbing dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Sampel penelitian 30 orang siswa SMP Negeri 1 Blega dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Postest. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan hasil: Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah tervalidasi baik sampai sangat baik. Pengelolaan pembelajaran dengan penemuan terbimbing pada setiap tahapan /sintak penemuan terbimbing antara 3,5 sampai dengan 4,0 (baik ) dengan reliabilitas instrumen antara 99% dan 100% (reliabel). Aktivitas siswa yang paling dominan adalah berlatih keterampilan proses sains (20,07%), respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran positif. Ketuntasan  tes  hasil belajar kognitif siswa  93% sedangkan tes keterampilan proses sains 100% dengan skor peningkatan keduanya 71% (tinggi). Simpulan penelitian didapatkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi metode penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada konsep sistem pernafasan manusia.

Abstract

In evaluating the effectiveness of the 5Es model with analogy to providing access of deep understanding and attitudes to learn science, a case study research was brought involving 27 undergraduates who took The Human Anatomy and Physiology course. The data gathered were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The results informed that most students were successful to have deep understanding towards abstract concepts showing by grade of at least C or acceptable level and good attitudes  to  learn  science  within  which  all  students  possessed  the  same  perception  corresponding  to  interest  and  enjoyment regardless any different level of achievement. Overall, it could be concluded that the 5Es model with analogy was quietly effective to make deep understanding and attitudes to learn science appear in students’ learning.Dalam mengevaluasi keefektifan model 5Es dengan analogi terhadap pemahaman mendalam dan sikap belajar sains, sebuah studi kasus dilakukan dengan melibatkan 27 mahasiswa yang memprogram Mata Kuliah Anatomi dan Fisiologi Manusia. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian tersebut menginformasikan bahwa umumnya siswa berhasil untuk memahami konsep yang abstrak secara mendalam yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai minimal C dan memiliki sikap belajar sains yang baik terkait dengan kesenangan dan minat belajar tanpa menghiraukan pencapaian hasil belajar mereka. Oleh karena itu, dapat simpulkan bahwa model pengajaran 5E dan analogi terbukti efektif untuk memunculkan pemahaman konsep secara mendalam dan sikap belajar sains.

Abstract

To promote connection between biology content and social context, students need to be involved in Socio-scientific Issues (SSI) learning model. In doing so, involving 29 students majoring Biology Education enrolled in Environmental Knowledge course, to observe student’s perception and student’s achievement. Data were collected through questionnaires, test and observation, and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The findings reported that student’s perception was increased toward SSI learning model (N-Gain=0,4), all of students were successful in student’s achievement based on increasing of student’s achievement (N-Gain=0,4) and there was positive and fair correlation between student’s perception and student’s achievement (rxy=0,4). However, further investigation need to be conducted for examining student’s attitudes towards SSI learning model.

Abstract

A research that has purpose to develop science learning material on pollution matter based on Quantum Teaching model to try student creative thinking skills had been done, it was done in two phase, namely learning material development phase with 4D model from Thiagarajan and try out on 30 junior high school students in class with pretest-posttest design. Data analysis with qualitative and quantitative descriptive. Validation analysis result of learning materials were valid with average of reliability 90,57%  and 80,95% in average of implementation reliability. Test of student achievement on knowledge competency was analyzed by N-Gain. It showed increasing (0,88), average of student skill competency was 3,86 (A-) and student attitude competency was excellent. Student creative thinking skills in the beginning of learning were  42,67% with fair category and in the closing of learning were 70,12% with creative category. Based on research result , it can be concluded that science learning materials on pollution matter based on Quantum Teaching model that had been developed were proper and can be used to try student creative thinking skill of junior high school. Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA  materi pencemaran lingkungan yang berorientasi model Quantum Teaching untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa, yang dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dengan model 4-D dari Thiagarajan dan diuji coba pada 30 siswa SMP kelas VII dengan pretest-posttest design. Analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis validasi perangkat pembelajaran valid dengan rata-rata reliabilitas 90,57% dan reliabilitas keterlaksanaan pembelajaran 80,95%. Tes hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi pengetahuan dianalisis menggunakan N-Gain mengalami peningkatan (0,88), rata-rata kompetensi keterampilan siswa 3,86 (A-), dan kompetensi sikap siswa sangat baik. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada awal pembelajaran sebesar 42,67% dengan kategori cukup kreatif dan di akhir pembelajaran sebesar 70,12% dengan kategori kreatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA pada materi pencemaran lingkungan berorientasi model Quantum Teaching yang dikembangkan layak dan dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP.
