Abstract

Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds with a fifteen carbon basic skeleton (C6-C3-C6) composed of two benzene rings, A and B, connected by a pyran-C heterocyclic ring. The high interest in flavonoid research appears due to the numerous benefits of this compound based on its antioxidant activity. Various authors reported multiple studies in this regard. The research on methods of extraction, identification, quantification, and testing of antioxidant activity is compiled in this review. The most important part of this study is a review of the antioxidant activity assay method, which is equipped with the reaction mechanism.

Abstract

bstract: Kasumba turate had been used extensively in the treatment of varicella, but studies of safety, efficacy, and quality are incomplete. The objectives of these studies were to determine brine shrimp lethality, antioxidant activities and phytochemical contents of safflower ethanolic extract. The studies began with extraction, which soaked simplicia in 70% ethanol. Dried extract was determined for toxicity used brine shrimp lethality method. Although, antioxidant activities were measured by three methods, i.e., free radical scavenging (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil), cupric reducing antioxidant capacity, and ferric reducing antioxidant power. The phytochemicals total contents that measured were phenols, flavonoids and carotenoids. Based on studies result, rendemen extraction was 14.7%. The lethality level for brine shrimp was 109.64 ± 5.29 mg/L. The free radical scavenging, cupric reducing, and ferric reducing antioxidant activities were 35.40 ± 1.62 mg/L, 12.42 ± 0.95 mg/L and 36.47 ± 2.79 mg/L. Although, the phenol, flavonoid and carotenoid contents per gram were 135.40 ± 0.12 g gallic acid equivalent, 124.54 ± 3.38 mg quercetin equivalent and 27.25 ± 0.83 mg β-carotene equivalent. Based on these data, the ethanol extract of kasumba turate has high phytochemical and antioxidant potential and low toxicity.

Abstract

The use of black cumin as medicine or medicinal properties is in the seeds. The benefits of black cumin seeds are to treat various diseases such as strengthening the immune system, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, increasing breast milk production, antihistamines or hypoallergenic, maintaining skin elasticity, antioxidants, antitumor, cancer, improving the digestive tract, antibacterial, lowering cholesterol and improve heart performance. In order to realize the degree of public health, it is necessary to carry out integrated and comprehensive health efforts in the form of individual health efforts and public health efforts. This community service aims to see how the level of knowledge of students at MAN 2 Makassar City about the use of Black Seed. Therefore, the results of this PKM show that it was synthesized by looking at the t count and t table for the two hypotheses. If (tcount) > ttable, then reject H0. Based on the analysis of the paired t test, if (tcount) is 4.86 and the ttable value for the two-way test is 2.11. Then, (t count) > ttable, then calculate H0 or in other words, that the means/average quiz results are significantly different from the means/average after being given counseling.
