his study aims to find out the rapport management strategies to mitigate rapport threatening behaviors in social media interactions and to find out the effectiveness of the strategies. The social media platform from which the data was obtained is Facebook. There are a number of rapport threatening behaviors on the social media platform which are insult, criticism, cynicism, mockery, profanity, accusation, challenge, and blasphemy. These acts and expressions are considered to be threats to rapport since they can cause verbal conflicts and dispute in the interactions. This study found that these threats can be mitigated by rapport management strategies which comprise of five types of domains. This study, however, only found three domains of strategies and one newly found strategy in social media context. Most of the strategies are evidently effective to mitigate the rapport threats and consequently maintain the harmonious situation of the social media interactions

This deconstruction sought to determine students' views on the implementation of English Area on their English language skills and early 21st century skills. English Area was executed because seeing the situation in Majene Regency, there were still many students who lack English skills. In addition, students did not yet have a place to study after school hours end. This program was applied to improve their abilities, namely early 21st-century skills that are associated with English learning. This study wss descriptive quantitative where the instruments employed in this study were questionnaires and observation guides. The questionnaire used contains six indicators of early 21st-century skills, namely collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, character and collecting information. This study involved 28 students of grade VIII SMA 3 Majene. The results showed that the English Area program was able to improve collecting information skills with a value of 4.33, followed by collaboration and character skills with a value of 4.28. Therefore, further research needs to be done to enhance other early 21st-century skills associated with only one English skill so that the results are more significant. Guru adalah seorang profesional yang akuntabel untuk mentransfer wawasan baru, keahlian, dan mengajatkan etika, serta membantu mengembangkan potensi dan kapasitas siswa. Salah satu cara untuk mewujudkan peran tersebut adalah dengan cara meningkatkan kompetensi profesional yakni bagaimana cara guru menggunakan keterampilan yang dimilikinya untuk menkreasikan media pembelajaran agar siswa bisa termotivasi dalam proses belajar yang akan memberikan dampak positif terhadap prestasi mereka. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru yang dimulai dengan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mendesain media pembelajaran yang interaktif. Tema pengabdian ini bermula dari hasil observasi awal di SMPN 6 Majene, dimana ditemukan bahwa sudah ada pelatihan pengembangan media pembelajaran sebelumnya, namun belum membahas lebih dalam tentang cara membuat media pembelajaran menggunakan canva yang interaktif. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru yang berjumlah 15 orang. Ada tiga tahapan dalam proses pengabdian ini yakni tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap akhir dan monitoring. Adapun hasil evaluasi yang ditemukan dilapangan setelah proses penyebaran angket ditemukan bahwa 53,3% peserta merasa puas dengan proses pengabdian, 60% peserta merasa bahwa materi yang disampaikan relevan dengan kebutuhan mereka sebagai guru, 60% peserta merasa bahwa motivasi mereka untuk menggunakan Canva meningkat, dan 53,3% peserta merasa bahwa wawasan mereka tentang Canva meningkat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini telah berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan, motivasi, dan wawasan peserta tentang Canva for Education. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dianggap sebagai suatu keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menggunakan teknologi pembelajaran.

This quasi-experimental study examined the effect of the ReadToMe application on reading fluency and motivation among eighth-grade Indonesian EFL learners. Twenty-six students from SMP Negeri 1 Tutallu were randomly assigned to experimental (n=13) and control (n=13) groups. The experimental group received instruction using the ReadToMe application with narrative texts, while the control group followed conventional textbook-based methods over six weeks. Reading fluency was assessed through pre-test and post-test measurements using validated rubrics evaluating accuracy, pronunciation, and intonation. Student motivation was measured post-intervention through a 15-item Likert-scale questionnaire examining five dimensions: curiosity, challenge, grades, involvement, and competition. Results revealed significant improvements in the experimental group, with mean scores increasing from 45.85 to 76.00 (N-Gain=0.5484), compared to the control group's increase from 46.31 to 56.77 (N-Gain=0.2015). Independent samples t-test confirmed statistical significance (p<.001) with a very large effect size (Cohen's d=2.67). Questionnaire analysis indicated high motivation levels (80.00%) among experimental group students. These findings suggest that the ReadToMe application effectively enhances both reading fluency and motivation in narrative text instruction, offering practical implications for EFL teachers seeking technology-integrated approaches to address reading challenges in Indonesian educational contexts.

In the momentum of the 2035 Demographic Bonus and the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, there are both challenges and great opportunities for Indonesia's education system, where students are required to have soft skills, character, and critical thinking abilities. To realize this, Practitioner Lectures serve as a tangible form of practice in building teaching competence by connecting theory with direct experience from the professional or working world. This article describes the implementation of a national webinar titled “Practical Lecture: Building Teaching Competence Through Real Practice,” organized by the English Education Study Program, West Sulawesi University. This Practitioner Lecture aims to train students to become class leaders and to carry out best teaching practices using the STAR Method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). The activity was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform on August 13, 2025, featuring experienced speakers in the field of education. A total of 69 participants attended and stayed until the end of the event. The event evaluation was conducted through an online form, covering satisfaction with the material, presenters’ delivery, and relevance to participants’ academic needs. Evaluation results proved that the implementation of the practitioner lecture in building teaching competence was very successful, with the majority of participants stating a combination of engaging and easy-to-understand material, good and interactive delivery, as well as opportunities to gain valuable insights and real experience for the development of teaching skills and the professional growth of future teachers. Through this training, participants will gain a deep understanding of teaching techniques that not only emphasize material delivery but also classroom management and increasing student engagement. The expected outcome is the creation of class leaders capable of managing learning more effectively and inspiringly, supporting the achievement of optimal educational goals.
