Abstract

Abstract

Frequent problems faced in fish farming are possible parasites that cause a declining level of fish production. The study's objective is to know the damage to the skin and gills of Asian redtail catfish in a manner that infects histopathology ectoparasites. The sample used three fish in each pool: Freshwater Fish Hatchery and Cultivation (PBIAT) Ngrajek and Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Freshwater Fish Hatchery Sawangan in July 2022. Results data analysis inspection histopathology skin found necrosis and infiltration cell inflammation, for gill found exists infection parasite Dactylogyrus sp and Ichthyophthirius multifiliis as well as secondary lamellae adhesions, congestion, and cartilage hyperplasia hyaline.

Abstract

Marine culture in the North Semarang area is still not optimally utilized by the surrounding community. The selection of the location of aquaculture activities is needed to determine the feasibility of suitable land for aquaculture in the sea. However, due to the large number of fishing activities, ports, and dense settlements have an impact on water quality which affects marine aquaculture activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of the waters, determine the level of land suitability using GIS, and the area of land that can be used as a location for marine culture in the waters of North Semarang. The method used is by scoring and GIS. Parameters observed included protection, brightness, temperature, depth, current velocity, substrate, wave height, salinity, DO, BOD, COD, and pH. Furthermore, a scoring calculation is carried out to determine the suitability value which is then processed using GIS to produce a suitability map. The results showed that North Semarang waters were classified as S2 class (quite suitable) for marine aquaculture activities and with an area of 250,000 ha.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of anesthesia of basil leaf extract with different doses on the survival of striped catfish. This research was conducted in Kedungsari Village, North Magelang District, Magelang City, Jawa Tengah in January 2022. The study was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were anesthesia with doses of 10%, 15%, and 20%, the catfish that had fainted was put in Styrofoam for 7.5 hours. The variables observed included the duration of anesthesia, the duration of fainting, the length of recovery time, and survival. The results showed that the dose of basil leaf extract had the best concentration of basil leaf extract, which was 20% with 2.5 minutes of stunning time, 25.74 minutes of fainting time, and 6.13 minutes of recovery time. The highest survival rate of catfish using basil leaf extract was found at a concentration of 20%, 15% while the lowest survival rate was at a concentration of 10% treatment.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study's main focus is how the adaptation level affects the treatment of shelter composition in controlled containers. Parameters observed included growth rate, stress level, fish survival rate, and water quality during rearing. The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) and was analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the shelter composition was good for the C. limbata survival in experimental group 3 (P3) by placing the addition of sand, stones, gutters and aquatic plants in the aquarium. The effect of the composition of the shelter in a controlled container on the adaptation level of C. limbata was shown in experimental group 3 (P3), which experienced an increase in length of up to 5 mm, and an increase in weight of 25 g and a survival rate of 60%. This value is the best among 1st, 2nd, and control. This shows that the C. limbata can adapt its life to an artificial habitat that is as suitable as its natural habitat.
