Abstract

Many institutions in Indonesia swiftly shifted their educational programs to online learning with minimal preparation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has resulted in a situation termed as Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT), defined as a temporary and abrupt shift from offline (face-to-face) to online (virtual) instructional delivery as a consequence of a disaster. It is crucial for educators to grasp key aspects of utilizing online learning media. This research aims to identify recommended criteria and alternatives for the use of online learning media from the educators’ perspective, employing the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which is suitable for ranking issues. This method involves a group decision-making process that employs comprehensive and multidimensional ranking in various domains. The research instrument comprises a questionnaire filled out by educators, including lecturers and teachers, totaling 13 respondents. The study reveals that the top-ranked criteria and alternative for the use of online learning media are the ease of operation criterion (K1) and the fastness alternative (A1). Future research is encouraged to further explore the application of the AHP method in other aspects of online learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the closed-house cage density near the outlet that affected the production of carcass, non-carcass, and abdominal fat of finisher phase broilers and to ascertain the number of closed-house cage density that could produce the ideal amount of carcass, non-carcass, and low abdominal fat. The experiment employed a completely randomized design with four treatments: T0 (10 birds per square meter), T1 (12 birds per square meter), T2 (14 birds per square meter), and T3 (16 birds per square meter). It was replicated five times using different numbers of broilers in each replication depending on the cage density. The observed variables were live weight, carcass weight, percentage of carcass, percentage of non-carcass, and percentage of abdominal fat. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and further tested with Duncan's multiple-range test. The study was carried out for 35 days at Farm H. Noto Miharjo in Adiwarno Village, Buayan District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The research results showed that the live weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage were significantly impacted by closed-house cage density at the area near the outlet, although non-carcass percentage and abdominal fat were not significantly impacted. A closed house cage density of 12 birds per square meter at the area near the outlet can provide an optimal production of carcass, non-carcass, and abdominal fat.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of human resource strategies on volunteer retention in international humanitarian organizations, with a focus on job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Quantitative methods were used, with data analysis using the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale (1-5) and in-depth interviews, involving 200 volunteer respondents from organizations such as UNHCR, ICRC, and MSF. Research findings show that human resource strategies that include training, career development, and providing incentives have a significant impact on volunteer retention. In addition, job satisfaction acts as a significant mediator in this relationship. Aspects such as recognition, interpersonal relationships, and working conditions play an important role in strengthening loyalty and extending the duration of volunteers' contributions. The results of this research highlight the importance of implementing a comprehensive human resource strategy to maintain the involvement of volunteers, especially from the younger generation
