Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of using Chemdroid media on students’ self-efficacy in a thermochemistry topic. Chemdroid is Chemistry on Android. Self-efficacy is related to students’ beliefs in activities in the classroom. This type of research is quasi-experimental using post-test only control group design. In this study, two different classes were used which were declared to be normalyy distributed and homogeneous. The first class is the control class (CC-Class) which conducts conventional learning media as usual. The second class is the experimental class (EC-Class) which uses Chemdroid media for thermochemistry topic as a learning media in the classroom. Both classes have the same learning time, teacher and learning model. The instrument used in this study is a self-efficacy questionnaire that has been developed in previous studies but has been adapted to current research. The statement items used in this measuring instrument are 22 statements with 6 aspects. The test used is the Mann Whitney with the help os the SPSS program. The result of the analysis state that the significance is smaller than level of conficence. This proves that there is a significant difference with the use of Chemdroid media for a thermochemistry topic on the self-efficacy of the control class and experimental class students.

Abstract

Characterization of liquid smoke from the pyrolysis of PET and OTHER plastic packaging waste as an alternative fuel has been carried out. The pyrolysis method produces liquid smoke from PET and OTHER plastic waste at high temperatures. Pyrolysis of PET-type cooking oil packaging plastic waste produces 77.70% liquid smoke, while OTHER type of plastic packaging plastic waste pyrolysis produces approximately 71.65% liquid smoke. The physical properties of liquid smoke resulting from pyrolysis from PET and OTHER plastic cooking oil packaging waste cannot be used directly as fuel oil because some of these physical properties need to meet the SNI fuel quality standards. Identification with GC-MS that liquid smoke from PET-type plastic waste consists of 50 chemical compounds and liquid smoke from OTHER type plastic waste consists of 49 chemical compounds, composed of chemical derivatives of alkanes, alkenes, cycloalkanes, cycloalkenes, and alcohols.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to construct a valid and reliable HOTS-based cognitive assessment tool. The HOTS-based assessment instrument was used to measure students' higher order thinking skills on the buffer solution material. The stages of this research were the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases of the ADDIE model. The research subjects were students of class XI MIPA 4 at Senior High School 5 Bengkulu City during the 2021–2022 academic year. The research data came from expert validation sheets, needs analysis questionnaires, empirical test analysis, and examination of students' HOTS skills. The 20 multiple-choice questions and 10 essay questions made up the instrumen's features. The following are the outcomes: (1) The expert's assessment of the practicality of the material led to the creation of 26 valid questions, including 18 multiple-choice questions and 8 essays. (2) The empirical validity study produced 23 valid items, including 6 essay questions and 17 multiple-choice questions. (3) The reliability analysis results for both essays and multiple choice questions fell into the very good category, with scores of 0.94 and 0.98. (4) The findings of the examination of students' higher-order thinking skills revealed that 1 student was in the very good category, 5 students were in the good category, 5 students were in the fairly good category, 22 students were in the poor category, and 1 student was in the very poor category.

Abstract

Jiwa kewirausahaan seharusnya dapat dikembangkan sejak dini. Pengembangan jiwa kewirausahaan ini dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, salah satunya adalah praktik pembuatan produk dengan bahan-bahan sekitar. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan dengan mengembangkan produk sabun dengan menggunakan kulit buah naga. Kulit buah naga yang selama ini tidak berguna dan hanya dibuang, dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembuatan sabun. Sabun yang dibuat dapat berupa sabun cair, maupun sabun padat. Namun, fokus dalam pengabdian ini adalah pembuatan sabun padat. Pengadaan bimbingan teknis ini karena masih minimnya praktik dalam mata pelajaran kewirausahaan di sekolah. Selain itu, program ini sebagai wadah untuk mensosialisasikan kegunaan dari kulit buah naga tersebut. Strategi yang digunakan adalah dengan menyampaikan sedikit teori dilanjutkan dengan praktik secara demonstrasi. Hasil yang didapatkan dari program ini adalah kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 40 orang peserta didik dan dihasilkan produk sabun padat kulit buah naga. Produk ini dapat dikemas dengan baik agar dapat dipasarkan secara luas.

Abstract

Desa Tapak Gedung, Tebat Karai, Kepahiang merupakan daerah dataran tinggi di Kabupaten Bengkulu yang kaya akan potensi sumber daya alamnya yakni kopi dan gula aren yang dijadikan komoditas utama dari perekonomian masyarakat Kabupaten Kepahiang. Adapun permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat di Desa Tapak Gedung yaitu rendahnya tingkat pemahaman dan pendapatan masyarakat untuk mengoptimalkan perekonomian masyarakat melalui hasil komoditi kopi dan gula aren karena masyarakat masih minim melakukan inovasi dan hanya menjual langsung hasil panen kopi dan gula aren. Disisi lain kurangnya perkembangan digitalisasi di Desa Tapak Gedung juga menjadi salah satu faktor dalam perkembangan perekonomian dimana desa tersebut masih menggunakan metode transaksi manual sehingga sulit untuk menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas dan untuk bersaing secara global di era digital seperti sekarang ini. Langkah pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan adalah perlunya mengedukasi masyarakat untuk mengolah kopi dan gula aren menjadi minuman yang dapat dinikmati oleh semua kalangan. Kagiatan pengabdian masyarakat di desa Tapak Gedung ini adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan minuman kopi dan gula aren yang telah diuji di lab mempunyai kadar gula atau kemanisan yang rendah kalori sehingga aman untuk dikonsumsi oleh semua kalangan khususnya penderita diabetes. Selain itu masyarakat diedukasi dari awal untuk dapat memilih kopi biji merah berkualitas baik yang digunakan sebagai komoditas ekonomi yang dapat diekspor. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat memaksimalkan potensi desa melalui kelompok-kelompok usaha ekonomi seperti UMKM sehingga dapat menaikkan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Tapak Gedung.

Abstract

This research is a  research and development of ICARE-based chemical learning e-worksheet which aims to determine the feasibility of learning e-worksheet, student responses, students' scientific process skills based on observation and improvement of science process skills after using ICARE-based chemical learning e-worksheet. The development model used was ADDIE. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu City with the research subjects being 12 students of class XI MIPA 5 for the small group trial, and 36 students of class XI MIPA 4 for the large group trial. The instruments in this study were interview sheets, student need questionnaires, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, observation sheets, and tests. From the results of the study, it was found that (1) ICARE-based chemical learning e-worksheet was categorized very feasible by media and materials experts with a percentage of media and material aspects of 93.89% and material of 89.76%, (2) student responses to chemical- based learning e-worksheet. ICARE is in the very good category with an average percentage of 89.90%, (3) students' science process skills based on observation get an average percentage of 82.84% in a good category, and (4) after using ICARE-based chemical learning e-worksheet on salt hydrolysis materials showed an increase in six indicators of science process skills as measured by an average N-gain score of 0.65 on the moderate criteria. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan e-modul kimia terintegrasi Socio Scientific Issue (SSI) pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan e-modul, respons peserta didik terhadap e-modul, menganalisis hasil penerapan terhadap proses pembelajaran dengan pendekatan SSI dan respons guru. Pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate) Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Maret 2024 di SMAN 4 Kota Bengkulu dengan subjek yaitu 15 orang peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 untuk uji coba skala kecil dan 34 peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 5 untuk uji coba skala besar. Instrumen pada penelitian ini yaitu lembar wawancara, lembar validasi ahli materi dan media, angket respon peserta didik dan angket respons guru. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh (1) tingkat kelayakan e-modul memiliki kategori sangat layak dengan skor pada aspek materi yaitu 4,7 dan 4,6 untuk aspek media, (2) hasil uji respons peserta didik terhadap e-modul berbasis terintegrasi SSI pada memiliki skor 4,6 dengan kategori sangat baik (3) hasil penerapan pada  proses pemebelajaran dengan pendekatan Socio Scientific Issue (SSI) yang mengaitkan isu-isu sosial didapatkan sebanyak 82,35% yang mendapatkan nilai  80 (4) respons guru terhadap e-modul mendapatkan skor 4,7 dengan kategori sangat layak. Hal ini berarti e-modul yang terintegrasi SSI yang dikaji menggunakan sintaks discovery learning mengandung isu sosial di dalamnya yang dapat meningkatkan literasi peserta didik dalam keterampilan critical thinking skills dan charater.

Abstract

This research is research and development (R&D) to produced valid and reliable scientific literacy based cognitive assessment instrument. An assessment instrument was developed to measure students' scientific literacy abilities on equilibrium material. This research aims to described the feasibility of the instrument in terms of expert validation, described the validity and reliability of the instrument in terms of empirical validation and described the scientific literacy abilities of class XI MIPA 5 students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE model. The data in this research collected used a instruments needs questionnaire, validation sheet and product trial sheet. The subjects of this research were 184 from 3 different schools as validation subjects and 29 grade 11 MIPA 5 students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City for the 2023/2024 academic year as implementation subjects. The number of questions developed on this instrument is 23 multiple choice questions and 10 essays. The results of this research were: (1.) The expert feasibility assessment produced 21 multiple choice questions and 10 essay items worthy of being tested. (2.) The results of the empirical validity analysis using Rasch modeling with the help of the Winsteps program obtained 15 multiple choice questions and 9 valid essay questions. (3.) The results of the instrument reliability test obtained a Cronbach alpha of 0.92 or in the excellent category for multiple choice and 0.80 or in the good category for essays. (4.) The scientific literacy abilities of class XI MIPA 5 students were obtained by 6 students in the quite satisfactory category and 1 student in the satisfactory category.

Abstract

The virtual laboratory for electrochemistry materials has been developed. The characteristic of this virtual chemistry laboratory associated with the effect on students’ achievement was analyzed. Thus this type of research was research and development by using ADDIE development model. In the implementation, the phase of the product was the quasi experimental method with a post-test only design. Classes used for this study were 3 classes, first-class using traditional laboratory, a second class using only virtual laboratory, and the third class using traditional laboratory and virtual laboratory as a supplement. All three classes were performed by the same teacher and the learning time. The instrument used to see the effect of the virtual laboratory was a test instrument. While the instrument used to assess the quality of the media was a questionnaire assessment. The results of this study were a developed virtual laboratory that can be operated via the web on smartphones and computers. In addition, the results of the assessment by the chemistry teachers stated that the virtual laboratory was in good quality and in classroom studies, the third and first classes showed significant differences. In the future research virtual laboratory as a supplement in other subject, matters can be developed.
