Abstract

The school principal is the spearhead of an educational institution, Forward and withdrawal of an educational institution on the quality of education depends on the principal in managing it. The challenges of the digital era education era 4.0 can be implemented if educational institutions are supported by the government in the implementation process. The worldwide corona virus and its impact on our education process is a lesson for all of us so that we can change the education process to be even better and be able to compete with other countries.

Abstract

Waste is a by-product of all activities carried out while on campus, both in the form of organic and non-organic waste. High volume waste can be a problem for the environment so it needs to be managed properly. The purpose of this mentoring activity is to equip the cleaning staff so that waste in the University of Muhammadiyah Mataram (UMMAT) can be managed into organic fertilizer and ecobricks. There are three methods of mentoring, namely socialization, training, and evaluation. The socialization was carried out to provide an overview to participants regarding waste processing technology. Meanwhile, the training is to prove that the theoretical ability of partners from socialization can be applied to training and evaluation is carried out to see the level of success of mentoring activities. After the mentoring activities were carried out, it was proven that the knowledge of partners had increased and the waste within the Muhammadiyah University of Mataram was able to be managed slowly in the manufacture of organic fertilizers and echobrick.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan kepada anggota KWT Bunda Mandiri sebagai pelaku UMKM di Kecamatan Selebar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan manajerial dan teknis, pengembangan produk yang lebih inovatif, serta memperluas jaringan pemasaran. Metode Kegiatan Pengabdian ini dengan cara dilakukan pendampingan dan pelatihan produksi, pengemasan dan pelabelan hingga pemasaran Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah terciptanya varian baru kare-kare dengan quality control yang ditingkatkan sehingga menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas terjaga. Pengembangan pangsa pasar melalui pemasaran digital sehingga mampu meningkatkan omzet penjualan mencapai 20 persen.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pelatihan pembuatan minuman kalamansi telang adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada kelompok masyarakat yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Wanita Tani, UP3HP dan IKM di wilayah kerja Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian Selebar supaya mampu melakukan diversifikasi produk olahan jeruk kalamansi. Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini kelompok masyarakat tersebut dapat meraih ceruk pasar baru dari olahan jeruk kalamansi.Metode pelatihan dilakukan melalui pemaparan materi dan teknik pengolahan jeruk kalamansi, dilanjutkan dengan praktik pembuatan minuman kalamansi telang  beserta pengemasannya serta tanya jawab seputar produk kalamansi telang.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan Kelompok Wanita Tani, UP3HP dan IKM yang mengikuti pelatihan memahami dan mampu memproduksi minuman kalamansi telang secara baik.Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Jeruk Kalamansi, Bunga Telang

Abstract

Abstract: The formation of motorcycle gangs among students has become an alarming phenomenon in various regions, including Medan. This phenomenon can lead to criminal acts, violence, and other deviant behaviors that disrupt public order and jeopardize the students' future. Schools, as educational institutions, play a significant role in preventing the formation of motorcycle gangs among students. This research aims to identify and analyze the role schools play in preventing the formation of motorcycle gangs among students, with a case study at SMK Bina Taruna 1 Medan. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with teachers, school principals, and students, as well as observations of the policies and programs implemented by the school concerning the prevention of motorcycle gangs. Additionally, secondary data such as school documents and police reports were analyzed to support the research findings. The research results show that SMK Bina Taruna 1 Medan has undertaken various preventive efforts to prevent the formation of motorcycle gangs among students. These include character development programs, positive extracurricular activities, strict supervision of student behavior, and collaboration with the police and parents. The conclusion of this study is that schools have an important role in preventing the formation of motorcycle gangs through educational approaches, supervision, and partnerships with relevant stakeholders. However, more integrated and sustainable efforts are still needed to ensure more effective and long-term results.

Abstract

The scarcity of ulama is a major concern in Islamic education because the higher education system is no longer considered adequate to produce graduates with a deep understanding of religion according to the demands of the times. This research aims to analyze the ulama regeneration program in Medan, focusing on the existence, materials, learning strategies, and obstacles faced. This research was conducted at the Higher Education for the Cadre of Ulama of the Indonesian Ulama Council of North Sumatra and Al-Washliyah University. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman techniques supported by Atlas Ti software. The results revealed that in Islamic higher institutions in Medan City there are two ulama regeneration institutions, namely under the auspices of the Indonesian Ulama Council of North Sumatra which has been established since 2006 and under the auspices of Al-Washliyah University which was established in 2022. The dominant regeneration material is Islamic science based on classical Islamic books (turast). The dominant learning strategy is completing the book, supported by research and community service activities. In the implementation, there are internal constraints in the form of student input, budget limitations and external constraints are the misalignment of internal and government curricula. This research has implications for practical recommendations for Islamic higher education institutions to strengthen their capacity to produce competent scholars

Abstract

This study aims to determine student learning outcomes using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning strategies at vocational school of Bina Taruna Medan city and what are the challenges in implementing contextual teaching and learning strategies in improving student learning outcomes at vocational school of Bina Taruna Kota Medan. This research method is a qualitative research with a case study approach, the results of observations show that the application of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning strategies improves student learning outcomes. The improvement of student learning outcomes reflects the enthusiasm of students in taking lessons in class and is carried over to the test results of Islamic religious education subjects. The learning outcomes of Islamic religious education subjects are said to be classically complete.

Abstract

Abstrak: Supervisi akademik merupakan salah satu strategi yang efektif untuk memastikan kualitas pembelajaran di madrasah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peran kepala madrasah dalam mengelola dan melaksanakan supervisi akademik guna meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala madrasah di MTs Negeri 1 Medan telah menjalankan perannya dengan baik sesuai dengan program yang telah disusun untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran. Peran kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan supervisi akademik meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi supervisi. Pada tahap perencanaan, kepala madrasah menentukan tujuan supervisi, menyusun program, serta menetapkan instrumen supervisi. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, kepala madrasah melakukan observasi terhadap proses belajar mengajar di kelas untuk melihat bagaimana guru mengajar dan siswa belajar, serta mengadakan pertemuan dengan guru guna membahas hasil observasi dan memberikan umpan balik secara konstruktif dan objektif. Sementara itu, pada tahap evaluasi supervisi, kepala madrasah menilai hasil supervisi untuk melihat sejauh mana tujuan supervisi telah tercapai, kemudian menyusun laporan yang berisi hasil observasi, masukan yang diberikan, serta tindak lanjut yang dilakukan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of transformational leadership by the principal and to analyze teachers’ and staff perceptions regarding its impact on educational administration effectiveness at SMK Bina Taruna 1 Medan. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design using in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving eleven informants consisting of the principal, vice principals, teachers, and administrative staff. Data analysis was carried out using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s model, including data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the principal has applied transformational leadership through moral exemplification, visionary motivation, encouragement of innovation, and individualized consideration. Teachers and staff expressed generally positive perceptions, shown through increased engagement, open communication, and the development of a more collaborative work culture. However, obstacles still exist in terms of policy consistency, digital-based administrative human resource readiness, and optimization of standard operational procedures. This study presents novelty by integrating transformational leadership and administrative effectiveness within a vocational school context in Medan through an in-depth qualitative approach. The results are expected to serve as a reference for developing transformative leadership models and enhancing sustainable school administrative governance.
