Abstract

The problem of waste or garbage in large cities is also the focus of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This article aims to describe ecobrick activities as a solution to dealing with plastic and fabric waste in East Jakarta. The method used is empowerment by using several stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage. Partners in this activity are women from RW 04 Perumnas Klender, East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta. Community service activities were carried out in March-April 2020. This service encourages partners to be actively involved, in the form of collecting various types of waste that have been determined, discussing materials, ecobrick techniques, and product manufacturing. To evaluate the activity, documentation is carried out in the form of attendance, photos, videos, and the resulting products. The service activities run according to plan, in the form of two stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage (Socialization and explanation of plastic bottle and cloth waste, the impact on the environment and training in managing plastic bottle waste and leftover cloth into useful products). Partners are enthusiastic about participating in this “Ecobrick” activity and producing useful seat products. Partners can take their time to make this product. In addition to protecting the environment, this program also has added value for the community. The recommendation for the next program activity is training on marketing its products both conventionally and online, to deal with this pandemic condition.

Abstract

Plastic as food packaging has been the subject of extensive research, but plastic as packaging for herbs does not yet exist. As an additive, plastic made from the monomer and urea-formaldehyde is utilized. At elevated temperatures, formaldehyde can decompose due to the degradation of the monomer, followed by oxidation and the severing of the carbon chain. Formaldehyde can migrate to the bundled material, which is hazardous to human health. This study aimed to ascertain the impact of temperature on the migration of formaldehyde from plastic used to wrap herbs. The sample is a plastic bag used to wrap herbs, and NIR (Near Infrared) is used to determine the variety of plastic. Formaldehyde migration was determined by heating the sample between 40 and 80 degrees Celsius, and formaldehyde was analyzed using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer method with Nash reagent. The absorbance of formaldehyde was measured with a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 412 nm. The type of plastic obtained was PP (Poly Propylene). The equation for the formaldehyde calibration curve is y = 0.0197x + 0.1218 with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.999. The migration of formaldehyde was measured after heating plastic to temperatures between 40 and 80 degrees Celsius. The released formaldehyde concentrations ranged from 7.35 to 13.47 µg/mL. Validation of the analytical method revealed the formaldehyde detection limit (LOD) to be 0.8024 µg/mL and the quantity limit (LOQ) to be 2.6745 µg/mL, with a precision of 1 and an accuracy of 97,462-113,851%, thereby satisfying the meticulous, exhaustive, and precise criteria.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that forms in the cervix. The primary cause of cervical cancer is an infection with oncogenic types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), particularly types 16 and 18, which lead to abnormal growth in the cervical epithelial tissue. Other risk factors that increase the incidence of cervical cancer include sexual activity with multiple partners, sexually transmitted infections, immune disorders, having many children, low socioeconomic status, and lack of knowledge about reproductive health. The aim of this activity is to enhance participants' knowledge about reproductive organ health as well as the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer. Increasing knowledge can be achieved by providing education on the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer, as well as educating about reproductive health. The results of the educational program showed an increase in knowledge, as reflected in the improved post-test scores.

Abstract

In the verse of Yaseen 36 it is written that there is something unknwon to people at the time. Today we know there is supermicroorganism - that is virus. Virus is the cause of some infection like what happened since early 2020 when the pandemy occurred. The virus is beta-coronavirus novel. This is the new type of corona. It is the cause of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). Some efforts to overcome the disease includes health protocol such as 5 M in Bahasa Indonesia (wearing mask, washing hands, physical distancing, avoiding crowd, and limiting mobility). Implementation of the health protocol is limited when the public does not support. Public compliance to the policy is influenced by several factors like age and education. The objective of the research is to find out the corelation betweeen knowledge about Covid-19 with compliance to health protocol (5M). I use methodes of survey by filling out questionnaire to students of SMP Islam Al Aszar 10, Kembangan, Jakarta. The result is calculated by using linier equation between knowledge and compliance. Intercept (a)= 60,34641; slope (b)= 0,358306 and corelation (r)= 0,949393. X is knowledge and Y is complaince. From the research we come to a conlusion that some knowledge is still lacking like the life of virus, prevention of cantagion, the size of virus and covid-19. But they comply woth the health protocol of 5 M, seen from slope 0,358306. Although knwledge (X) is low , Y (compliance) high almost the same . It is because the government, the school and the researcher have given some informations about the importance of health protocol of 3 M and now 5 M.
