Abstract

Education in Indonesia has experienced a long journey, from the Dutch colonial period to the education development carried out by Muhammadiyah. This article aims to analyse the evolution of education in Indonesia by highlighting the influence of each period on the current education system. During the Dutch colonial period, education was used to strengthen colonial power, where access to education was very limited for indigenous peoples and prioritised colonial interests. However, this period also gave birth to awareness of the importance of education, which became the foundation for the Islamic education movement in Indonesia. The research method used in this article is the library research method, where data is collected from various literature sources, including books, journal articles, and other related documents. This approach allows researchers to analyse and interpret existing information comprehensively and provide a deeper context regarding the evolution of education in Indonesia over time. Muhammadiyah, which was founded in 1912, plays an important role in educational reform in Indonesia by integrating Islamic values in the curriculum and developing inclusive educational institutions. Through an approach that focuses on character and quality education, Muhammadiyah has established thousands of schools and universities that provide formal education and shape students' character according to Islamic values. Thus, Muhammadiyah's contribution to education reflects efforts to create a generation that is intelligent, noble, and ready to face global challenges. This article is expected to provide insight into the journey of education in Indonesia and the important role played by various historical periods in shaping the current education system.

Abstract

Aur Sati Village is one of the newly formed communities in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Some administrative tasks, such as archive management, can improve village government services to the community. Village archives are currently stored manually and need to use digital archiving methods. Digital archive management can be used as a storage place for documents and can help overcome the lack of computer equipment owned by village officials. This program aims to increase the knowledge of village administrators regarding digital archive management (e-filing). The implementation of the e-filing program for Aur Sati Village officials is very useful in carrying out their administrative duties. There are three steps to the program: planning, implementation and success assessment. A survey with local leaders was part of the preparation step. An initial presentation, pre-test, and training on digital records management (e-filing) were conducted during the implementation phase using an app scanner, Google Drive, and Google Sheets. Village governments were given a post-test questionnaire to measure their skills during the evaluation phase. As a result, village governments showed a good understanding of e-filing and its management. Based on the post-test evaluation, most village officials and administrative staff in Aur Sati Village are able to digitally archive official letters (e-filing) and reduce the possibility of losing archives in the future.

Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is one of the leading causes of cardiovascular mortality worldwide and in Indonesia. Various risk factors have been investigated, yet two important comorbidities that frequently worsen the prognosis are diabetes mellitus and kidney disorders. Diabetes mellitus accelerates atherosclerosis and promotes plaque instability, whereas kidney disorders exacerbate cardiovascular metabolism and restrict therapeutic options due to impaired drug elimination. This study aimed to analyze the influence of diabetes mellitus and kidney disorders on the mortality of ACS patients at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek General Hospital. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 71 patients diagnosed with ACS during the 2020–2021 period. The main independent variables were diabetes mellitus and kidney disorders, while mortality served as the dependent variable. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test, Fisher’s Exact Test, and Odds Ratio (OR) calculations, with a significance level of p < 0.05. The study found an overall mortality rate of 25.3% among ACS patients. A significant relationship was observed between diabetes mellitus and mortality (p = 0.012; OR = 3.1) as well as between kidney disorders and mortality (p = 0.019; OR = 4.0). This indicates that ACS patients with diabetes mellitus have approximately three times higher risk of death, and those with kidney disorders have about four times higher risk compared to those without these comorbidities. In conclusion, diabetes mellitus and kidney disorders are significant predictors of mortality among ACS patients, highlighting the importance of comprehensive management for patients with these conditions in clinical cardiovascular care.
