Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and skills of the Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) of Pangkep Regency in using SimaPro software for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) within the context of environmental sustainability. Currently, DLH Pangkep faces challenges in conducting environmental impact assessments manually, which require significant human resources, time, and costs. Through the socialization and training of SimaPro usage, this activity aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of DLH in assessing the environmental impact of production systems. The implementation methods include needs assessment, activity planning, an opening session, practical training in using SimaPro, discussions and Q&A sessions, as well as evaluation and feedback. The expected outcomes include increased understanding and skills of participants in using SimaPro for LCA, along with scientific publications. This activity is expected to enhance the capacity of DLH Pangkep in conducting more comprehensive and efficient environmental impact assessments, thereby supporting DLH in making more sustainable decisions related to environmental policies in Pangkep Regency. Quantitative analysis of pre-test and post-test results shows a significant improvement in participants' understanding and skills, especially in using SimaPro, with a 191.7% increase. This indicates the success of the training in enhancing DLH Pangkep's competency in environmental impact assessment.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This article presents a study on the development of a bi-objective cost problem optimization model in planning tourist routes in the island zone. This problem is a new variant of the tour route plan problem. Bi-objective view of two cost components, namely maritime transportation costs and ground transportation costs. Two models were formulated using a mixed integer linear programming approach. The first model was designed to minimize one of the two cost components separately. The second model was bi-objective cost minimization based on the priority weights of the two costs. It was designed to determine minimum transportation costs based on priority weights. Model testing was carried out through numerical experiments on several cases that often occur in industries in Maluku, Indonesia, especially tourism and goods shipping. Each case has variations in the number of islands and nodes. As a result, the model can demonstrate its adaptability to changes in objectives and parameters. For cases that do not have a single solution, an increase in the network structure on the number of islands and nodes will increase the variety of efficient alternative solutions. The set of efficient solutions also shows an inverse relationship between MTC and GTC. The results also show that MTC minimization cannot be used as a reference for TC minimization in cases with many nodes and islands. Efforts to minimize MTC in the island zone impact reducing total costs but do not mean minimizing total costs. In addition, based on the exponential trend line of computing time, the number of nodes has a more significant influence on computing time compared to the number of islands.

Abstract

The Banda Sea waters contribute significantly to tuna production in Maluku. The fishing community of the Banda Neira Islands uses this zone as their main source of income. This significant contribution needs to be supported by development efforts through research and innovation. Until now, research on the tuna supply chain from the Banda Neira archipelago is particularly rare. This research seeks to provide comprehensive, micro-level information on the mapping of tuna supply chain risks in Indonesia, particularly in Maluku, that has been reviewed by several researchers. Several supply chain risk management (SCRM) methods, including 5-why analysis, supply chain risk identification (SCRI), and house of risk (HOR), were used in this study. The results indicate that the actors involved in the Banda Neira tuna supply chain include fishermen, cold storage, ship plan, and miniplan. Fishermen play a role in fishing operations, while cold storage, ship plan, and miniplan serve as buyers, processors, and ship plans/distributors to other regions. In the tuna supply chain, 11 risk events were identified, caused by 23 risk agents/factors. The two highest-ranking factors, in order of highest risk, were the lack of ice availability and high operational costs. Both factors had a cumulative percentage ratio of aggregate risk potential reaching 55.33%. This indicates that the tuna supply chain in the Banda Neira is still influenced by the performance of fishing operations (fishermen). To mitigate the 11 risk events, 22 preventive measures/actions are required.
