Abstract

Digital transformation represents a significant evolution in the accounting profession, characterized by the integration of artificial intelligence, automation, and blockchain technologies. This study aims to synthesize and critically evaluate current evidence on how these technologies shape accounting practices, professional roles, and organizational processes. The review employed a structured methodology involving multiple academic databases, targeted keywords, and explicit inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify peer-reviewed studies relevant to digital transformation in accounting. The findings indicate that AI adoption improves audit efficiency and reduces costs by automating repetitive processes and enabling advanced analytics. Automation enhances accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting, with large organizations benefiting most from advanced ERP systems, while SMEs rely increasingly on accessible cloud-based solutions. Blockchain contributes to transparency and data integrity through immutable records, but adoption is uneven across regions due to regulatory and infrastructural disparities. The discussion emphasizes that systemic factors—organizational culture, regulatory frameworks, and technological infrastructure—critically influence outcomes, while government incentives, training initiatives, and partnerships with technology providers are key strategies for overcoming adoption barriers. Limitations in the literature include fragmented focus on individual technologies, geographical bias toward developed economies, and insufficient attention to professional identity and ethics. The review concludes that addressing these gaps and promoting inclusive digital strategies are essential for ensuring sustainable transformation in accounting. These findings have significant implications for policymakers, educators, and practitioners seeking to align accounting practices with the demands of the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid pace of digital transformation has reshaped healthcare, finance, and energy sectors, creating opportunities for innovation while amplifying vulnerabilities to cyber threats. This narrative review synthesizes organizational responses to cybersecurity and innovation risk management across global contexts. Literature was systematically collected from Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar using defined keywords and inclusion criteria, with thematic synthesis guided by review standards. Four central themes emerged: (1) the effectiveness of secure access and identity management in protecting sensitive data, (2) the integration of artificial intelligence and blockchain in predictive modeling and threat detection, (3) measurable improvements in resilience through advanced technological adoption, and (4) the influence of systemic and structural factors, including governance frameworks and international collaboration. Evidence highlights disparities between developed and developing regions, where resource and infrastructure limitations hinder adoption. The discussion links findings with resilience theory while noting limitations such as the neglect of SMEs, dominance of Western perspectives, and reliance on secondary data. Policy implications emphasize capacity-building, harmonized frameworks, and innovation-driven cultures. Comprehensive, collaborative, and context-sensitive approaches are essential for advancing cybersecurity resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

The increasing shift toward servitization in manufacturing necessitates adaptive innovation models that blend customer-centric and process-efficient methodologies. This study investigates how the strategic integration of Design Thinking (DT) and Lean Enablers influences adaptive New Product Development (NPD) capabilities in manufacturing firms undergoing servitization. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining survey data from 100–150 manufacturing firms with qualitative interviews. Key variables DT practices, Lean Enabler adoption, and adaptive NPD performance were operationalized using validated instruments. Data analysis involved regression modeling and structural equation modeling to explore mediation effects. Findings reveal that the combined adoption of DT and Lean practices leads to significant improvements in NPD performance metrics, including reduced time-to-market, lower post-launch defect rates, higher customer satisfaction (NPS), and greater readiness for servitization. Lean Enablers such as Obeya, cadence-based design reviews, and knowledge reuse were found to mediate the relationship between DT and NPD adaptability, enhancing both learning and operational efficiency. Organizational culture, leadership commitment, and cross-functional collaboration were identified as critical enablers of successful DT–Lean integration. This research offers a robust empirical and conceptual framework for integrating DT and Lean in manufacturing contexts. It contributes to the literature by validating measurement instruments and demonstrating their predictive value for adaptive innovation performance. The findings are especially relevant for firms aiming to enhance strategic agility and sustain competitive advantage in rapidly evolving markets.

Abstract

This study investigates how Green Technology Innovation (GTI) enhances Sustainable Business Performance (SBP) through the mediating role of Circular Economy (CE) practices, offering an integrative framework that addresses firm-level sustainability strategy. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey was conducted among 250 manufacturing firms. Using validated instruments, data were collected on GTI activities, CE implementation, and SBP outcomes. Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was employed to test direct and indirect relationships, with bootstrapping applied to assess mediation effects.Findings reveal that GTI positively influences both CE adoption (β = 0.64, p < 0.001) and SBP (β = 0.32, p < 0.01). CE also directly enhances SBP (β = 0.58, p < 0.001) and partially mediates the GTI–SBP relationship (indirect β = 0.37, p < 0.001). Sectoral and geographic variations in adoption were noted, with larger and high-tech firms demonstrating higher engagement. The results validate the Natural Resource–Based View (NRBV), indicating that firms with integrated GTI–CE strategies gain competitive and environmental advantages. CE was found to serve as both a performance enabler and a resilience mechanism. GTI and CE are complementary strategies for achieving SBP. Firms should embed CE into their innovation strategies to maximize outcomes. Policymakers are encouraged to promote supportive regulatory and fiscal environments. Future studies should explore longitudinal effects and sector-specific dynamics.
