Abstract

The problem which has to be solved when using nyamplung oil (Calophyllum inophyllum) as an alternative fuel is the excessive content of free fatty acid in the oil. One way of reducing the free fatty acid in the oil is by esterification and tranesterification process. Hence, the research is conducted to identify the effect of temperature and methanol addition on the esterification and transesterification processes on the nature of nyampung oil and to assess the composing component of nyamplung oil. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Forest Yield Technology and central laboratorium of INSTIPER. The steps included extraction, deguming, esterification I, esterification II and transesterification with the temperature var iation of 60° C, 80° C, and 100° C and the mol comparison of nyamplung oil of 4:1, 5:1 and 6:1, and the examined parameters were water content, viscosity, acid level, soap level, free fatty acid content and iod level. The result indicated that the temperature treatment and methanol addition significantly affected the nature of nyamplung oil after the tranesterification. The analysis of nyamplung oil nature after the esterification I and esterification II indicated that the water contents were 0.38 and 0.21 %, the densities were 0.9630 and 0.9325 g/ml, the viscosities were 110 and 74.5 cP, the acid levels were 58.6893 and 31, 4359 KOH/g. the contents of free fatty acid were 29.5016 and 15.8017, the soaping levels were 192, 4127 dan 180, 2165 mg KOH/g, the iod levels were 68.7259 and 65. 9123 mg/g with the appearance of esterification I of dark and aqueous and esterification 11 reddish and aqueous. the nature of nyamplung oil after the transesterification process was that the water content was 0.1501%, the density was 0.8832 Wml, the viscosity was 51.1296 eP, the acid level was 9.8935 KOH/g, the free fatty acid content was 5.0168 %, the soaping level was 172.9321 KOH/g, the iold level was iod 77.4985 mg/g, with the appearance of yellow and aqueous. Abstract

Penumpukan sampah menjadi permasalahan walaupun bisa didaur ulang namun pemanfaatannya masih belum optimal. Bisa dilihat pada pemanfaatan limbah kertas yang didaur ulang dimana masih belum optimal. Salah satu upaya alternatif dalam memanfaatkan limbah tersebut yaitu dengan memanfaatkannya sebagai bahan pembuatan papan partikel. Dapat diketahui kandungan lignoselulosa pada kertas hvs sebesar 90% sehingga sangat bagus dalam membantu proses perekatan bahan baku menjadi papan partikel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara semen sebagai perekat dengan serat kertas dalam pembuatan papan partikel serta mengetahui sifat fisika dan mekanika papan partikel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dibuat dengan rancangan acak lengap (RAL). Pembuatan contoh uji dan pengujian dilakukan mengikuti SNI 03-2105-2006. Perbandingan komposisi serat dan semen pada contoh uji papan partikel yang digunakan berupa 1:3, 1:4, 1:5. Dapat diketahui bahwa nilai kerapatan, kadar air, pengembangan tebal dan MoR telah memenuhi standar SNI 03-2105-2006, sedangakan pada nilai MoE tidak memenuhi standar. Dari hasil Penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh interaksi perlakuan perbandingan semen dengan serat kertas dan tekanan kempa tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai sifat fisika dan mekanika papan semen partikel dari limbah kertas HVS.

Abstract

Green open space is an area that has a function as well as a place to grow plants, both those that grow naturally and are planted. One way to improve environmental quality and revitalize urban ecosystems is by managing the Green Open Space. One of the alternatives supporting this effort is to make supportive and applicable policies, laws, and regulations. This research was conducted to examine the implementation of Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2015 regarding Green Open Space Management in Mataram City and to find out planning strategies in optimizing the implementation of applicable policies. The method used in this research is literature study method, interview, and observation. In this study, six criteria are used based on William N. Dunn's theory to analyze policies and SWOT analysis to determine the appropriate management strategy. The policy implementation analysis results show that the implementation of these regional regulations falls into the "medium" category with a score of 2.13. This indicates that several indicators need to be tightened to optimize policies' effectiveness, so it is necessary to revise policies to maximize implementation. Several strategies that can be carried out to maximize the role of stakeholders are disseminating information about the content of local regulations that are applied to all related parties, explaining the programs that will be implemented to create a common understanding for all parties as a whole based on the objectives to be achieved, optimizing local regulations which applies to improve coordination in the implementation of green open space management which aims to maximize the role between agencies to create adequate technical personnel, facilities and infrastructure and synchronize the main tasks and functions of each agency in implementing green open space management to maximize their respective roles.

Abstract

Jalur pendakian Kawinda To’i Taman Nasional Tambora menyimpan potensi sebagai habitat monyet ekor panjang. Menurut IUCN (2022) spesies monyet ekor panjang (Macaca Fascicularis) dinilai masuk kedalam daftar merah yang terancam punah. Tujuan penelitian yaitu, pertama untuk mengetahui preferensi pakan monyet ekor panjang di Jalur Pendakian Kawinda To’i Taman Nasional Tambora, kedua menganalisis struktur vegetasi pohon pakan monyet ekor panjang di Jalur Pendakian Kawinda To’i Taman Nasional Tambora. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui preferensi pakan yaitu metode line transect, untuk mengetahui potensi pohon pakannya digunakan metode garis berpetak dengan jumlah petak menggunakan kaidah minimum spesies area. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dan kuantitatif, data vegetasi dianalisis untuk mengetahui kerapatan, frekuensi, dominansi dan INP. Terdapat 2 jalur pengamatan dengan 9 jenis pohon pakan dengan jenis preferensi pakan yaitu jenis karau, dengan nilai kerapatan relatif vegetasi dari 0 hingga 65,79%, frekuensi relatif mulai dari 0 hingga 65,79%, dominansi relatif 0 hingga 70,93% dan INP mulai dari 0 hingga 202,51%.

Abstract

Burung gosong kaki merah (Megapodius reinwardt) adalah spesies burung incubator yang memanfaatkan panas alami dari lingkungan untuk menetaskan telurnya. Burung ini tersebar di beberapa pulau di Indonesia, termasuk Pulau Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat, dan tergolong dalam kategori Least Concern menurut IUCN meskipun berpotensi mengalami ancaman kepunahan. Upaya konservasi burung gosong kaki merah membutuhkan informasi terkait aspek ekotipologi habitatnya guna mengidentifikasi faktor lingkungan yang mendukung pemilihan lokasi sarang yang optimal. Penelitian ini mengamati aspek ekotipologi habitat, seperti kerapatan vegetasi, kemiringan lahan, ketinggian, jarak dari sumber air, dan jenis hutan, yang diperkirakan berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan pemilihan lokasi sarang. Hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode reconnaissance atau recce walk ditemukan sejumlah 17 sarang burung gosong kaki merah di lokasi dengan preferensi habitat tertentu, yakni ketinggian rendah sekitar 0-25 mdpl, kemiringan lahan datar (0-8%), kerapatan vegetasi sedang, jarak dari sumber air antara 0-200 meter, serta tipe hutan primer. Tingkat kesesuaian habitat ini dipengaruhi oleh kebutuhan bertahan hidup seperti ketersediaan pakan, suhu di lokasi sarang, dan jangkauan dari predator. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan dalam upaya pelestarian burung gosong kaki merah, terutama dalam program rilis atau pelepasliaran kembali ke habitat alaminya.

Abstract

Monyet ekor panjang adalah salah satu jenis satwa liar yang dapat ditemukan di kawasan hutan sekunder, hutan mangrove, pesisir pantai dan hutan di pinggiran sungai dengan ketinggian kurang lebih 2.000 meter di atas permukaan laut. Salah Satu kawasan hutan di Indonesia yang menjadi habitat bagi monyet ekor panjang yaitu Taman Nasional Tambora. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku harian, sosial dan hierarki monyet ekor panjang di kawasan wisata Oi Marai Taman Nasional Tambora. Penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitaif dan mengguunakan metode focal animal sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, perilaku alpha monyet ekor panjang di sepanjang jalur wisata Oi Marai terdiri dari perilaku harian yaitu perilaku foreging 22%, perilaku istirahat 34%, perilaku bergerak 24%, perilaku investigatif 2%, perilaku autogrooming 3%, perilaku sosial alpha monyet ekor panjang terdiri dari allogrooming sebesar 1% dan interaksi 0% dan perilaku hierarki alpha monyet ekor panjang terdiri dari agonistik 5%, perilaku seksual 5% dan perilaku calling 4%. Hasil kajian diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pertimbangan upaya pelestarian dan konservasi monyet ekor panjang di wilayah Taman Nasional Tambora dan menambah literasi data terkait monyet ekor panjang.

Abstract

Tanaman lontar (Borassus flabellifer Linn.) merupakan salah satu jenis palma yang memiliki banyak manfaat, dimana hampir semua bagian dari tanaman ini dapat dimanfaatkan, termasuk daun, batang, buah, dan bunga yang dapat disadap. Bentuk pelepah lontar mirip dengan pelepah kelapa, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai sumber bahan bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi karakteristik briket arang dari pelepah lontar dengan faktor ukuran partikel dan tekanan kempa, serta interaksi kedua faktor tersebut terhadap sifat-sifat briket arang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan variasi ukuran partikel terbagi menjadi tiga level (-20 +40 mesh, -40 +60 mesh, -60 +80 mesh), dan tekanan kempa terdiri dari dua level (100 N/cm2 dan 150 N/cm2). Proses konversi biomassa pelepah lontar menjadi arang dilakukan menggunakan drum kiln. Pengujian dilakukan sesuai dengan standar SNI 01-6235-2000, termasuk pengukuran kadar air, kadar abu, zat mudah menguap, dan nilai kalor. Hasil rata-rata pengujian menunjukkan nilai masing-masing parameter adalah 9,22% untuk kadar air, 10,57% untuk kadar abu, 38,33% untuk zat mudah menguap, dan 6278,72 kal/gr untuk nilai kalor. Analisis keragaman menunjukkan bahwa ukuran partikel berpengaruh terhadap kadar abu dan zat mudah menguap, sedangkan tekanan kempa dan interaksi antara kedua faktor tersebut mempengaruhi kadar zat mudah menguap.

Abstract

Bio-charcoal briquettes are a promising alternative to fossil fuels, particularly when produced from biomass waste such as sawdust. This study investigates the effects of varying molasses adhesive concentrations (5%, 10%, and 15%) on the physical and chemical properties of bio-charcoal briquettes produced from sawdust. The briquettes were analyzed for density, moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and calorific value. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were also employed to examine surface morphology and functional groups. The results showed that increasing molasses concentration led to higher density, moisture content, and fixed carbon content, while reducing ash and volatile matter content. The 10% molasses concentration provided the highest calorific value (5,420 cal/g). The results of testing using SEM with a magnification of 2000x, featuring a particle size of 60 mesh, revealed the morphology of the briquette surface with a regular arrangement of cavities. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of O-H, C-H, and C=O groups, which contribute to molecular bonding. All samples met the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard for wood charcoal briquettes. The addition of 1% potassium chlorate further improved ignition and combustion. The findings demonstrate that molasses, as a low-cost and eco-friendly binder, effectively enhances the quality and energy performance of bio-charcoal briquettes. This study supports the development of renewable energy technologies from underutilized wood waste, promoting sustainable energy solutions and environmental conservation. Abstract

Madapangga Nature Tourism Park (Taman Wisata Alam/TWA) is a conservation area with significant natural tourism potential, including diverse flora, fauna, springs, rivers, and scenic landscapes developed under ecotourism. However, its high tourism potential is not reflected in the number of visitors, indicating that the park's beauty and uniqueness have yet to attract substantial tourist interest. This study aimed to (1) assess visitors' perceptions in terms of four dimensions: Attraction, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary Services, and (2) identify factors influencing visitors' perceptions regarding the management and appeal of the park.A qualitative descriptive approach was applied. Purposive sampling was used to select the site and respondents, and accidental sampling was used to collect data from 100 participants. Data analysis was conducted using a Likert scale.The findings revealed that 100% of respondents rated the attraction dimension as excellent. Regarding Accessibility, 80% considered access to the park good, while 20% rated it as less satisfactory. In the Amenities dimension, 99% of respondents rated the facilities as poor, and 1% as very poor. For Ancillary Services, 58% rated them as good, while 42% found them less satisfactory.Factors influencing visitor perceptions were classified into internal factors (age and education) and external factors (information and experience). Regression analysis showed that experience significantly influenced visitors' perceptions, while age, education, and information had no significant impact.This study highlights the importance of improving amenities and services to enhance visitor satisfaction and increase the attractiveness of TWA Madapangga as a tourist destination.
