Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Zapin Pecah Dua Belas Dance on student character education in Riau Malay Dance III (Zapin) lectures seen from the learning process, practice, and elements in traditional dance. Zapin Pecah Dua Belas Dance is a traditional dance originating from Pelalawan, Riau Province. In addition, this research was also conducted to find and describe the process of learning traditional dance in higher education in the formation of student character. The research method uses an interpretative qualitative method with a single case study. The data source of this research consists of several sources, namely through observation, interviews, and literature study. The triangulation method is used as a technique to test the validity of data from these various data sources. The research findings show that learning Zapin Pecah Dua Belas traditional dance can enrich the learner's experience and on the other hand train intelligence and sensitivity through understanding the character of local wisdom contained in traditional dance. Learning Zapin Pecah Dua Belas dance as a traditional dance and dance that is danced in groups fosters the characters: cooperation, discipline, creativity, confidence, mutual cooperation, friendship, effective communication, and responsibility. This research explains the importance of incorporating traditional dance practices, in this case Zapin Pecah Dua Belas Dance, as a local culture into higher education, because this affects the development of students' character as learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interest and motivation of students in learning arts and culture at State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method. The data collection techniques used in the study are documentation, interviews, and the instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The population in this study were students of State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru, and the research sample was class X students with the material Tanjak Warisan. The method used in learning arts and culture is project-based learning, which involves students designing, planning, and carrying out projects to produce products, publish, or present them. Results show interest and motivation in students at the School State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru in the sufficient height category. This is based on the results of filling out the interest questionnaire with an average percentage of 81% and an average percentage for the results of the motivation questionnaire of 72%. In addition, in the summative assessment, the average student scored 90. From the interview results, it was found that the students follow a learning art culture. Because, like art lessons, they are enthusiastic about making or producing works of art, are interested in the uniqueness of local and regional arts (local wisdom), and feel comfortable with the way teachers teach in class and the provision of supporting facilities for learning art culture by the school. From the results of this study, there is information explaining that the learning method and teaching variations of teachers are one of the supporters of interest and motivation to learn in students. In addition, this study is expected to provide information on learning methods that educators can use in the classroom and an increase in teachers' awareness of the latest learning methods and teaching variations.

Abstract

Tari Sirih Layang merupakan salah satu tarian tradisional yang berasal dari masyarakat Suku Talang Mamak di Kecamatan Batang Gansal, Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu. Awalnya, tari ini adalah bagian dari ritual adat yang memiliki makna dan fungsi sakral dalam kehidupan masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis proses perubahan fungsi Tari Sirih Layang, yang semula merupakan bagian dari ritual adat, menjadi bentuk seni pertunjukan yang lebih modern dan komersial. Penelitian ini juga berfokus pada pemahaman faktor-faktor yang mendorong perubahan tersebut, serta dampaknya terhadap nilai-nilai budaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung, wawancara dengan penari dan tokoh masyarakat setempat, serta studi pustaka untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait sejarah dan latar belakang tari ini. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan perubahan fungsi Tari Sirih Layang. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi sebagai sumber informasi dan referensi bagi peneliti budaya, penari, komunitas seni, serta pemerintah daerah dalam upaya pelestarian dan pengembangan seni tari tradisional ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi seni tari di kalangan siswa SMP Negeri 4 Kecamatan Siak Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar melalui pelatihan eksplorasi gerak tari dengan penerapan metode komposisi tari. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam melakukan eksplorasi gerak sebagai bagian dari proses penciptaan tarian menggunakan metode komposisi. Dalam pelatihan ini, metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah untuk memberikan teori, arahan, dan contoh eksplorasi tari. Selanjutnya, metode demonstrasi dan praktik diterapkan, di mana pemateri bersama mahasiswa pendamping mendemonstrasikan teknik eksplorasi, improvisasi, dan pembentukan, kemudian siswa mempraktikkannya. Metode terakhir adalah tanya jawab, di mana peserta mengajukan pertanyaan yang dijawab langsung oleh pemateri. Metode pelatihan yang diterapkan mencakup: 1) Motion Capture (MoCap), 2) Virtual Reality (VR) dan Augmented Reality (AR), 3) Software Animasi dan Simulasi, 4) Aplikasi Pelatihan Ogline, 5) Wearable Technology, 6) Data Analytics, 7) Interaktif Multimedia, dan 8) Gamifikasi. Diharapkan, pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan siswa dalam eksplorasi gerak tari, merangsang kreativitas mereka dalam menciptakan tarian, serta meningkatkan apresiasi terhadap seni budaya. Selain itu, pelatihan ini diharapkan menjadi fondasi untuk mengembangkan bakat tari di kalangan siswa SMP Negeri 4 Kecamatan Siak Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar, dan memperkaya budaya seni di daerah tersebut.
