Abstract

This experimental study investigates the effect of non-uniform pipe diameters on natural circulation flow within a rectangular loop related to non-dimensional numbers, such as the Reynolds number and the Grashof number. The study aims to understand how variations in pipe diameters influence natural circulation, which is critical for thermal engineering applications, including passive cooling systems for nuclear reactors and thermal management in electronic devices. Previous research by Vijayan et al., Garibaldi et al., and Elton et al. explored the impact of loop geometry on flow stability and heat transfer efficiency. In this study, a loop system with varying pipe diameters operates without a pump at atmospheric pressure. Data on fluid flow and temperature distribution were recorded at different temperature settings. The results show that fluid flow increases with temperature, decreasing fluid density and enhancing buoyancy forces. This increases the Reynolds number, reaching turbulent flow at 70°C throughout the loop. However, the 2-inch diameter hot leg remains in the transition region up to 90°C. The experimental correlation shows higher Grashof numbers than previous models, highlighting the significant impact of pipe diameter variations on buoyancy forces and flow transitions. These findings emphasize the importance of non-uniform pipe geometries in influencing natural circulation flow and its transition from laminar to turbulent flow, providing valuable insights for designing systems with non-uniform pipe configurations.

Abstract

PT MKM is responsible for installing the customer's internet network up to repairing the internet network. The existence of an internet network repair service is used to ensure that the internet network at the customer's home can be used stably and smoothly. To ensure customers get good service and do not switch to other providers, PT MKM must pay attention to the services provided to its customers. The purpose of this study was to measure the value of customer satisfaction on the quality of network repair services and to determine the priority for repair service improvements at PT MKM. This study used servqual and IPA methods with 50 respondents participating in answering the questionnaire. The results show that the GAP value in each statement is negative with the largest GAP value being on the assurance dimension of -1.18 and the lowest GAP being on the responsiveness dimension of -0.76. Of the 10 indicators distributed into 4 quadrants, the main priority for improvement that must be improved using the IPA method is attribute P5 which is in quadrant I.

Abstract

Workload is one of the factors affecting employee performance. Sometimes employees have an overload, while other employees have an underload. This kind of problem also occurs with Gradatie Vendor Convection. The method used is full time equivalent (FTE) to find out the workload of each operator by changing the hours of the workload to the number of people needed to complete a particular job. From the results of the study, it was found that 8 operators have an underload workload. Optimization of labor performance can be carried out by changing the composition of the elements of the activities of each labor force or reducing the number of workers based on the calculation of Full Time Equivalent.

Abstract

Kehalalan sebuah produk menjadi salah satu hal yang sangat penting bagi umat muslim dalam mengkonsumsi sebuah produk, karena kewajiban setiap muslim harus sesuai dengan ajaran yang telah ditetapkan yaitu harus mengkonsumsi makanan yang halal dan baik (Toyib). Setiap pelaku usaha harus menjamin kehalalan dari produk yang ditawarkannya sehingga perlu adanya sertifikasi halal. Namun masih banyak pelaku usaha yang belum memiliki sertifikasi halal atas produknya. Saat ini ada banyak Lembaga Pemeriksa Halal (LPH) di Indonesia yang sebelumnya hanya tunggal dilakukan oleh LPPOM MUI. Persaingan ini mengharuskan LPPOM MUI untuk memiliki strategi pemasaran yang kuat agar tetap menjadi lembaga yang dipilih oleh banyak pelaku industri dan pemilik merek mendaftarkan Sertifikasi halalnya melalui LPPOM MUI untuk diteruskan kepada BPJPH. Bauran pemasaran adalah seperangkat alat pemasaran yang digunakan perusahaan untuk terus-menerus mencapai tujuan pemasarannya dalam pasar sasarannya. Bauran 7P terdiri dari beberapa atribut yaitu product, price, promotion, place, process, people, dan physical evidence. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai bauran pemasaran 7P dapat dilihat bahwa pelanggan memiliki presepsi yang baik terhadap proses registrasi pendaftaran sertifikasi halal di LPPOM MUI DKI Jakarta. Atribut dengan tingkat kepentingan tertinggi menurut hasil analisis yaitu atribut people, process, dan product, sehingga ketiga atribut ini menjadi fokus utama dalam perbaikan strategi pemasaran di LPPOM MUI agar dapat menjadi lembaga yang dipilih oleh para pelaku usaha.

Abstract

Temperature stability is a crucial factor in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food processing, where fluctuations can damage product quality and increase energy consumption. This study aims to optimize heater power control using an adaptive proportional integral derivative (PID) control system to maintain temperature stability under steady-state conditions. The method involves applying adaptive PID control to a stirred heating tank using LabVIEW software with a national instruments controller module and a single-phase SCR to regulate heater power and adjust control parameters in real time. The results indicate that the system operates more effectively under stable conditions, with faster response times and a lower overshoot of less than 0.12%. However, under disturbed conditions, such as water drainage and replacement, the system requires more time to adjust the temperature and experiences increased energy consumption and heat loss. Despite this, the system still achieves an energy efficiency improvement, with efficiency values ranging from 77.66% to 80.03%. The implementation of adaptive PID control demonstrates significant potential in enhancing system accuracy and response to temperature changes, contributing to the development of more efficient industrial control technologies.

Abstract

Fenomena sirkulasi alami menjadi salah satu manajemen termal yang penting untuk meningkatkan keamanan dan keselamatan operasi reaktor nuklir. Kecelakaan PLTN Fukushima Daiichi, Jepang menjadi salah satu peristiwa yang melatarbelakangi riset seputar sirkulasi alami. BRIN melalui ORTN membangun salah satu fasilitas ekperimen yakni untai rektangular bertekanan FASSIP-05 untuk mempelajari fenomena aliran sirkulasi alami yang bekerja pada tekanan tinggi. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah sebagai studi pendahuluan untuk mengetahui estimasi laju aliran sirkulasi alami yang akan terjadi pada tekanan 5 bar, 10 bar, 15 bar, dan 20 bar. Variasi temperatur yang ditentukan yaitu masing-masing 3 nilai temperatur dibawah titik saturasi pada setiap tekanan yaitu 100°C, 110°C, 120°C, 130°C, 140°C, 150°C, 160°C, 170°C, 180°C, 190°C, 200°C, dan 210°C serta temperatur air keluar dari pendingin yaitu 30°C. Adanya tekanan sangat mempengaruhi properti air seperti densitas dan viskositas. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi temperatur air keluar dari heater, maka semakin cepat pula laju aliran yang terjadi dalam pipa. Laju aliran paling cepat bernilai 2,02324 m/s, dengan nilai Reynold sebesar 83638.90 ketika temperatur di bagian heater mencapai 210°C. Laju aliran paling lambat yaitu 0,87453 m/s, dengan nilai Reynold 32703.97 ketika temperatur di bagian heater mencapai 100°C. Kata kunci : estimasi; FASSIP-05; Reynolds; sirkulasi alami: tekanan.
