Abstract

This research aims to know how the acquisition of Indonesian deixis for 2.5 years child (a case study on the results of mixed marriages). The deixis that would be uncovered are (1) temporal deixis, (2) locative deixis, (3), persona deixis, and (4) demonstrative deixis. The result of study shows that in general, it can be concluded that Diana has not been able to master deixis overall. Some deixis have been understood but she cannot exactly mention them correctly, for example, temporal, personal, and demonstrative locative deixis. Diana has master deixis demonstrative 'that' in understanding and producing it compared with others. Diana was able to answer questions asked by his father in German, although she cannot speak German, as he speaks Indonesian.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the process of learning German by using Contextual Approach at SMA Negeri 8 Makassar. It applies qualitative and quantitative research methods. The results shows that there is an increase of the ability in learning German by using contextual approach. The average test results obtained by the student was 77.50. Whereas in the pre-test given to students average score was 54.85. The factors that influenced the learning process were seen from the efforts of German teachers in improving students' mastery of German by asking the students to practice German both in the classroom and outside the classroom. The other factors were the way of teaching and students in learning German were very enthustic, and the way of teachers motivate the students, and the way of students answering questions given by the teacher, they compete each other. The inhibiting factors were the absence of a language laboratory, the lack of German language books, and the absence of learning media.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the results of the learning of writing skills in German essay semester II semester students of the German Language Study Program FBS UNM through Flashcard media. This research is a classroom action research using the John Elliot model which consists of two cycles. Flashcard learning media is media that consists of several images that are arranged and form a story. Flashcard media can train and sharpen the imagination of students who then poured in written form, while the material in this learning is Essen und Trinken. The subject of this research is the second semester students of the German Language Education Study Program FBS UNM. Data collection is done through several procedures, namely observation and tests. The results showed that learning by applying Flashcard media can create a more effective and efficient teaching and learning process, helping understanding and increasing students' imagination and motivation in writing a German essay, besides that students are also more active and enthusiastic.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain data about the influence on the ability listen to audio media students of German Language Study Program, Foreign Language Education Department  Faculty of Languages and Literature, Makassar State University. The type of this research is a quantitative research using quasi-experimental. The research design used in this study is a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study is a student of German language Study Program, Foreign Language Education Department  Faculty of Languages and Literature, Makassar State University 2016/2017, with the number of 46 people. The sample in this study is the total sample. Analysis of the data is an inferential statistical analysis using t-test. The calculation result is t test (8.61) > t table (2.015)  with   alpha level (0.05). That means, there is an effect using audio media on listening skills  of students.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan, memberikan gambaran informasi terkait kemampuan menulis kalimat tanya dengan menggunakan W-Frage berbasis teks bacaan bergambar mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Bahasa Jerman FBS UNM.  Teks cerita bergambar adalah kombinasi dari gambar serta cerita yang banyak menarik minat mahasiswa karena ilustrasi gambar yang menarik. Cerita bergambar ini dinilai tidak membosankan karena tidak hanya berisi tulisan saja seperti buku pada umumnya. Gambar merupakan visualisasi dari kalimat dan digunakan untuk memperjelas dan membuat alur cerita semakin jelas. Teks bacaan bergambar ini menjadi alrernatif pembelajaran yang interaktif bagi mahasiswa, terasa menyenangkan dan dapat memudahkan siswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Jerman. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut diadakan penelitian kemampuan menulis kalimat tanya bahasa Jerman. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester II program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian berupa data bagaimana kemampuan menulis kalimat tanya dengan menggunakan W-Frage bahasa Jerman berbasis teks bacaan bergambar mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Bahasa Jerman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh temuan bahwa tingkat kemampuan menulis kalimat tanya dengan menggunakan W-Frage berbasis teks bacaan bergambar mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman FBS UNM termasuk dalam kategori cukup.  Kata Kunci: Menulis, Kalimat Tanya, W-Frage, Teks Bacaan

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a Quasi-Experiment which aims to obtain data and information about the effectiveness of the use of Textpuzzle game in German text reading ability of XI grade students of SMA Negeri 14 Makassar. The population of this study were all students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 14 Makassar which amounted to 60 students from two classes. The samples in this study were selected using random sampling technique with a total of 30 samples for the experimental class, namely class XI IPS 3, and 30 samples for the control class, namely XI IPS 4. The data in this study were obtained from the reading ability test results and analyzed using paired t-test (2-tailed). The results of data analysis showed that the average value of students' reading ability in the experimental class before being taught using the Textpuzzle game was 30.83. The value also shows that students' reading ability has not reached the minimum passing score of 75. After being taught using the Textpuzzle game, the average value of students experienced a significant change to 81.23. The result of the t-test analysis showed that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05. Based on this comparison, it can be concluded that the use of Textpuzzle game is effective in German reading abilityKeywords: Game, Textpuzzle, German, Reading Abilitys

Abstract

This research examines the mechanisms of semantic change in English and German, focusing on comparing and contrasting these processes across the two languages and investigating the influence of major historical events and societal shifts. By utilizing digital text corpora, libraries, archives, and modern digital media, the study conducts qualitative analyses, including case studies and discourse analysis, to explore semantic evolution. Thematic analysis was employed to thoroughly examine and interpret the data, allowing for the identification of recurring patterns, themes, and significant insights. The results showed that both English and German undergo significant semantic shifts driven by a metaphorical extension (i.e., narrowing or broadening of meanings, pejoration and amelioration, frequency and pathway of change, cultural and historical influences) and historical events and societal shifts that influence semantic change (i.e., wars and conflicts, industrialization, technological advancement, globalization, and cultural exchange, societal movements, and ideological shifts). The role of metaphorical extension is seen in adapting language to technological advancements while highlighting linguistic evolution through narrowing and broadening meanings influenced by cultural, historical, and linguistic factors. Additionally, pejoration and amelioration reflect societal changes and attitudes. Historical events and societal shifts, such as wars, industrialization, technological advancements, globalization, and social movements, significantly impact semantic changes in both English and German. These external influences catalyze language use and meaning shifts, illustrating the interaction between language and human experience.

Abstract

Penilitian  ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Eksperimental Design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media flash card dalam penguasaan kosakata siswa kelas XI MA Awaluddin Kuo Kab. Mamuju Tengah, Sulawesi Barat. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan media flash card sedangkan variabel terikat pada penelitian ini adalah penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MA Awaluddin Kuo Kabupaten Mamuju Tengah, yakni kelas XI.A dan XI.B yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI.B sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan siswa sebanyak 15 orang, dan kelas XI.A sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 15 siswa yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data  hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan memberikan pre-test dan post-test tertulis pada materi “Berbelanja”. Hasil perhitungan uji-t pada taraf signifikan 0,05 di peroleh nilai thitung 4,63 > ttabel 2,048. Sehingga hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media flash card efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Arab siswa kelas XI B MA Awaluddin Kuo Kabupaten Mamuju Tengah.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship and skills training for rural communities in Anggeraja District has successfully improved the skills, knowledge, and economic independence of participants. This program focuses on developing technical skills relevant to local potential, such as handicrafts and modern agriculture, as well as providing an understanding of basic entrepreneurship and marketing through digital technology. The results of this training show improvements in product quality, competitiveness, and the application of technology in small businesses. Additionally, the formation of strong social networks among participants has further strengthened community solidarity and provided support for business development. However, challenges related to access to finance and technological infrastructure still remain as barriers that need to be addressed to expand the program’s impact. Therefore, for sustainability and broader impact, increased access to technology, ongoing mentorship, and easier access to finance, as well as collaboration with relevant stakeholders, are needed to support entrepreneurship development in rural areas.

Abstract

Learning guidance is an effective effort in improving academic achievement, especially for children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This tutoring program is designed to provide more intensive attention to students' academic, social, and emotional development. The results of its implementation show a significant improvement in understanding of subject matter, increased self-confidence, and higher motivation to learn among the participants. Additionally, the tutoring program has contributed to strengthening the relationship between parents and children and has had a positive impact on the development of students' social skills. Through an empathetic approach and interactive methods, the tutoring program has helped students overcome learning barriers and build a positive attitude towards education. The long-term impact of this program includes increased opportunities for higher education and overall improvement in quality of life. Therefore, tutoring for underprivileged children not only improves their academic performance but also makes a significant contribution to character development and prepares them for the future.
