Abstract

Abstract:Today's development of history learning is very complex, primarily when the independent curriculum is implemented. Students must possess various skills based on learning outcomes in the independent curriculum. One of those skills is historical thinking skills. Based on observations, it was found that teachers still need to learn about historical sources, even though this is very important in learning history. This void raises the problem that students need help to think historically. Based on this, the author wants to develop a learning model with a new perspective by applying historical sources in the learning process. The method used in this study is qualitative, with data collection techniques in the form of distributing questionnaires to history teachers. The data obtained is analyzed through three stages: the data reduction stage, data presentation, and conclusions. The result of this article is that there is a recommendation for the new learning model, Oricon. This Oricon model has five aspects: orientation, identification, collecting, construction, and evaluation. This model can be used by using historical learning resources following the material the teacher wants to explain to foster historical thinking skills. Then students will interact directly and reconstruct historical narratives from sources that have been found.

This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving giving a pretest before socialization (treatment) and then conducting a posttest afterwards. In our treatment We involved lecturers from the Department of History, Universitas Negeri Malang, as well as the East Java history teachers. In this study, we measured cultural awareness using a questionnaire. Furthermore, we used t-test on SPSS 26 application to calculate validity, reliability, and analysis test. The results of this service showed that the cultural awareness of East Java history teachers increased after attending the training. Abstract

Purpose of the study: The development of a culturally responsive teaching model, commonly called the Aligned Learning Model, is based on the idea that students' cultural backgrounds are significant in their learning process. Multicultural awareness in history education is an important aspect of education that aims to foster understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. Integrating multicultural values into history education is essential for raising students' awareness of cultural pluralism and fostering tolerance and social cohesion attitudes. Methodology: In this study, we used a qualitative approach, distributing questionnaires to history teachers to collect data. We analysed the data in three stages: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The result of this study is a new learning model called Harmonis. The syntax of this model consists of five stages: learning instruction, concrete experience, reflection, communication, and evaluation. Based on the study's results, previous studies and findings in the field indicate that no specific model elaborates on local history and multicultural education in schools. This prompted the researchers to present an innovation, namely the Harmonis learning model. The Harmonis model can be applied in local history-based learning processes by exploring the surrounding environment and identifying multicultural values that can be taught to students. Novelty/Originality of this study: The Harmonis model bridges the needs of prospective professional teachers who want to teach multiculturalism contextually. The existence of this model is an innovation because several previous learning models have not been able to integrate local history and multiculturalism in a meaningful way.
