Abstract

Background: The basic capital to form a quality human being starts in the womb accompanied by breastfeeding from an early age, especially exclusive breastfeeding. Efforts that can be made to stimulate the hormones prolactin and oxytocin in the mother after giving birth are to cause a feeling of relaxation in the mother by massaging to stimulate the nerve cells in the breasts. Research objective: to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of oxytocin massage with Woolwich massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at the Meisya Medika Clinic. Research method: The research design uses a non-equivalent control group design, that is, the research subjects are not randomly selected to be involved in the experimental group and the control group and both receive a pre-test and post-test group. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who gave birth at the Meisya Medika Clinic in 2023 with a sample size of 106 people, 53 people in each group. The sampling technique is non probability sampling with purposive sampling type. The instruments for collecting data are observation sheets, and hypothesis testing using the Mann – Whitney Test because it is not normally distributed to find out whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected. Research results and conclusions: There is a comparison of the effectiveness of oxytocin massage with Woolwich massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at the Meisya Medika Clinic in 2023 with a calculated z value of 42,504 and p value = 0.012. Suggestions for postpartum mothers are that they can use oxytocin massage or Woolwich massage to increase breast milk production and future researchers can develop research with other non-pharmacological therapies such as giving papaya fruit, soy milk, katuk leaves to increase breast milk production.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which workplace bullying is related to employees' performance perception at health centers and its impact on biological stress. The research was conducted on all employees at eight health centers in Regency X, randomly selected. Workplace bullying was measured using the Negative Acts Questionnaire Revised (NAQ-R), translated into Indonesian. Performance perception was measured using the Performance Perception Questionnaire. Biological stress was assessed through cortisol levels in saliva. Among the 240 participants, the majority (60%) rarely experienced workplace bullying, with an average score of 41.00 (SD=6.532). Most participants (67.1%) had a high perception of performance, with an average score of 67.12 (SD=9.747). Pearson's test results showed a value of 0.038 with a coefficient of -0.207, indicating a significant correlation between workplace bullying and performance perception. The findings also indicate that biological stress levels, measured through cortisol, correlate with lower performance perceptions. Workplace bullying contributes 4.285% to performance perception. This study provides preliminary evidence that workplace bullying can affect employee performance through biological stress mechanisms, highlighting the importance of interventions to reduce workplace bullying to improve employee well-being and performance

Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is a common complaint among adolescent girls, affecting daily activities. Herbal medicine has been widely used as an alternative treatment. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of herbal medicine and mefenamic acid in reducing primary dysmenorrhea pain among 460 high school students in South Sumatra. Pain levels were measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) at specific time intervals. Results indicate that herbal medicine has comparable effectiveness to mefenamic acid in reducing pain at the 60th minute. While the mefenamic acid group was given 500 mg of mefenamic acid. The degree of pain was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) before treatment, at 14, 30, 45, and 60 minutes after treatment. Results: The significance value of the pain level of both groups at 60 minutes (0.244) > α 0.05 (error level 5%). This shows that there is no significant difference between the differences in the mean pain level given herbal medicine and mefenamic acid at 60 minutes. So it is concluded that herbal medicine is able to reduce the level of pain the same as mefenamic acid at 60 minutes. This also means that herbal medicine can be used as a therapy for primary dysmenorrhea as well as the use of mefenamic acid at 60 minutes. Herbal medicine can be used as a therapy for primary dysmenorrhea in adolescents. This study provides initial evidence that herbs and chemical drugs actually have the same efficacy if given in the appropriate amount.
