Abstract

The number of community health nurses is not balanced with the workload given. This causes nurses at risk of experiencing physical and psychological problems that have an impact on the quality of life of the professional community health nurses. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between workload and professional quality of life in percescent nurses at the Jember district health center. This study uses a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 74 respondents. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling and proportionate random sampling. Data collection was conducted in January-March 2019. The questionnaire used was NASA-TLX (? = 0.781) and ProQoL-5 (? = 0.903). The statistical test used is spearman rank. The results showed that there was no relationship between workload and professional quality of life (p value = 0.372; CI = 95%). Community health nurses have workload (78.4%), compassion satisfaction (9.5%), burnout (59.5%) and stress traumatic secunder (13.5%) in the moderate category. High motivation and hard work of nurses in carrying out their responsibilities make the performance of nurses good, even though they have a moderate workload. Evaluation from the head of the room and also the demands of the workplace agency make the nurse work optimally. No one has measured the quality of life professionally directly but through their performance. The results of this study are expected to be an additional reference in the development of research in the field of workload and quality of life professional.

Abstract

Background Cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, often induces anxiety due to the uncertain prognosis and side effects. Integrating theories such as Roy's adaptation model, Comfort Kolcaba's theory, and The Andrews/Boyle Method The type of research used is research and development with a nursing care approach consisting of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The research subjects were outpatient breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.  The sample in this study consisted of one patient selected by accidental sampling and the data collection methods used were observation, questionnaires, interviews and patient medical records. Results The primary diagnosis—anxiety—was made based on the integration of the three theoretical models and research results, and the intervention—music therapy and manipulative therapy—was applied using theory and evidence-based practice. Health education about nutrition and diet is the intervention used to identify diarrhea. Patients with chronic wounds who have been diagnosed with skin and tissue integrity disorders are offered culturally-based education and nutrition, and those who struggle with inadequate health management are taught the value of family support. Conclusion The integration of Roy's adaptation model theory, Kolcaba Comfort, and The Andrews/Boyle Transcultural Interprofessional Practice (TIP) model is effective in helping patients to adapt culturally to the symptoms that arise due to chemotherapy so that cancer patients feel comfortable.

Abstract

Cancer causes complaints of pain. Pain is caused by cancer cell metastases, treatment, or both. Pain management can be done using a non-pharmacological approach including music therapy and murottal therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of music therapy and murottal therapy on the pain level of breast cancer patients at dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep. This type of research is quantitative with a quasy experimental design and a pre-test post-test control group design approach. A total of 54 respondents were divided into treatment and control groups using purposive sampling technique. The measurement tool used is the McGill Pain Questionnaire (MPQ). Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an effect of a combination of music therapy and murottal therapy on the pain level of breast cancer patients (p-value = 0.000). The combination of music therapy and murottal therapy has more points, namely beautiful tones and rhythms that are psychologically motivating and uplifting to deal with the problems at hand. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in using complementary therapies to reduce pain in breast cancer patients.
