Abstract

Pesantren education in Indonesia plays a fundamental role in the development of Islamic education, yet it still faces the challenges of modernity, including the stigma that its educational system is outdated. This study aims to identify and analyze the forms of reform undertaken in pesantren and their impact on educational quality. A qualitative approach with a literature study method was employed, drawing on relevant journal articles and books on pesantren educational reform. The findings indicate that reform in pesantren education is crucial to addressing contemporary challenges, particularly through curriculum integration that is more aligned with current societal needs and the modernization of educational processes to enhance quality and graduate competitiveness. The results also show that government support and community participation are key factors in driving educational innovation in pesantren, while the involvement of santri in the reform process strengthens the relevance and acceptance of the changes implemented. This study affirms that pesantren educational reform requires sustained synergy among stakeholders to ensure the quality, relevance, and sustainability of pesantren education amid ongoing social change.

Abstract

The concept of ta’dib constitutes the core of Islamic education, focusing on the inculcation of adab, the formation of akhlak (moral character), and the gradual introduction of truth to students. In the pesantren tradition, ta’dib serves as the principal foundation that distinguishes the pesantren educational system from other institutions, as it emphasizes not only the transfer of knowledge but also the formation of students’ character and personality as santri. This study aimed to examine in depth the concept of ta’dib in Islamic education by highlighting its implementation in the context of pesantren. The method employed was a literature study that reviewed various relevant sources, including books, journal articles, and previous research. The findings show that the inculcation of adab is carried out through various methods, including dialogue (hiwar), exemplary modeling (uswah), habituation (riyadhah), inspirational stories (ibrah), advice (mau’idzah), motivation and warning (targhib wa tarhib), and the use of parables (amtsal). Earlier scholars emphasized that adab is superior to knowledge because adab protects human beings from wrongdoing and makes their knowledge more beneficial. These findings affirm that, amid contemporary moral and social challenges, the strengthening of ta’dib is essential for shaping a morally upright generation not only in pesantren but also in schools and family environments, thereby enabling Islamic education to contribute significantly to the character formation of the Muslim community.

Abstract

The construction sector faces significant occupational safety challenges, with increasing accident rates necessitating strategic risk management approaches. This study aims to determine work site risk levels in the construction sector using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to optimize safety supervisor placement at PT. X, an international-scale construction fabrication company. The research identifies four main criteria affecting workplace risk: number of workers, critical activities, SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations), and PTW (Permit to Work) issued, evaluated across seven alternative work locations. Data were collected through expert questionnaires involving HSE Managers, PTW Coordinators, and SIMOPS Facilitators. The AHP analysis revealed that critical activities constitute the most influential criterion with a weight of 47.1%, followed by SIMOPS (28.4%), PTW issued (17.1%), and number of workers (7.4%). Results indicate that NFQ Area 19 presents the highest risk level (0.407), while the Workshop area exhibits the lowest risk (0.024). The consistency ratio for all criteria remained below 0.1, confirming the reliability of the assessment. The findings were validated using Expert Choice software, demonstrating no significant calculation errors. This research provides a systematic framework for prioritizing safety supervision resources based on quantified risk levels, enabling more effective accident prevention strategies in construction environments.
