Abstract

Nilaparvata lugens Stal.is one of plant pest which damages rice field. The waste of tobacco contains nicotine which can use as botanical insecticide. This research was aimed to find out the effectiveness of tobacco waste in controlling brown planthopper and its effect then predator (Oxyopes javanus). The methode of this research applies Completed Randomized Design experiment. In this research, used the kind of tobacco waste and various concentration with triple repeating. The variables of this research were mortality and death period of brown  planthopper, mortality and eating capability of O.javanusviewed from direct and indirect application. The concentration 12,5% of tobacco roots extract cause mortality of brown planthopper reaches 93%. Furthermore, the concentration 12,5% of tobacco root extracts made the death period of brown planthopper faster than the other concentrations. Direct application of tobacco waste extracts did not cause of O.javanus. Indirect application of tobacco waste extract did not cause of death toward O.javanus, but caused eating capability of O.javanus. Extract from tobacco bark with concentration 3,125% dan 1,56% had the power repellent which was shown by O.javanus only eat 2,33 brown planthoppers per week.

Abstract

The mustard plant is a commercially valuable vegetable popular with the public, so demand for this vegetable continues to increase. One of the factors that influences growth in terms of external factors is the planting medium. Planting media made from organic materials is a solution to using chemicals that cause residues that damage the environment. This research was conducted to determine the best type of planting media and the composition of the planting media for the growth of kale plants. Treatment using P1 (Control) = soil; P2 = soil: organic fertilizer (goat manure) (1:1); P3 = soil: bamboo leaves (1:1) using Randomized Complete Block Design method with five replications. The research results on planting media treatment with goat manure influenced the growth of mustard greens, including plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, root length, and root wet weight.

Abstract

Pengangguran merupakan salah satu masalah yang selalu dihadapi dan sulit untuk dihindari bagi suatu negara, baik di negara berkembang maupun negara maju, namun pada umumnya tingkat pengangguran cenderung lebih tinggi dihadapi oleh negara-negara yang sedang berkembang. Upaya untuk mengurangi tingkat pengangguran salah satunya adalah dengan meningkatkan kewirausahaan. Kewirausahaan merupakan kemampuan untuk menciptakan sesuatu yang baru dan berbeda melalui berpikir kreatif dan bertindak inovatif. Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman flora yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber bahan pestisida nabati yang dapat digunakan sebagai produk kewirusahaan. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat tentang Edukasi Kewirausahaan melalui Inovasi Produk Pestisida Nabati Ramah Lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan penyuluhan dan motivasi kewirausahaan. Penyuluhan dilakukan oleh dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Borobudur. Keanekaragaman flora di Indonesia seperti bawang putih, bawang bombai, cabai, kunyit, serai dan mimba dapat dirubah menjadi produk pestisida nabati yang dibuat secara sederhana. Produk tersebut dapat dikembangkan sebagai kewirausahaan. Langkah-langkah mengembangkan program kewirausahaan produk pestisida nabati meliputi: 1). Pengembangan program, 2). Kolaborasi dengan pakar, 3). Pendanaan dan sumber daya, 4). Fasilitas laboratorium, 5). Lokakarya dan seminar, 6). Bimbingan, 7). Pembuatan prototipe dan pengujian, 8). Kepatuhan dan peraturan, 9). Pengembangan rencana bisnis, 10). Pameran kewirausahaan dan hari pasar, 11). Peningkatan dan dukungan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Botanical pesticides are pesticides derived from natural plant products that contain bioactive compounds such as secondary compounds. This compound can function as an inhibitor of development, reduces fertility, inhibits appetite (anti-feedant), repellent, attractant, has a direct effect as a poison and prevent and reduce put down the egg. Botanical insecticides are insecticides produced from plant extracts, which are obtained from various parts of plants such as flowers, fruit, seeds, leaves, stems and roots, which contain secondary metabolite compounds. Secondary metabolite compounds produced by plants include essential oils, alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, steroids and saponins. Several lying plants that produce secondary metabolite compounds are good alternatives as a source of raw materials for vegetable insecticides because they are easy to obtain and do not require fertile soil to grow, including: Tinospora crispa (L.) Miers., Azadirachta indica (A.) Juss., Swietenia mahagoni and Annona squamosa.

Abstract

Sampah merupakan issue tentang permasalahan lingkungan yang sudah menjadi perhatian utama ditingkat lokal, nasional maupun internasional. Di Indonesia baik dikota maupun dipedesaan memiliki jumlah sampah organik yang sangat besar khususnya sampah daun. Sampah daun dapat diolah menjadi daun transparan yang dapat dikembangkan menjadi produk-produk kerajinan dengan nilai ekonomi yang tinggi, serta sebagai alternatif teknik pengelolaan limbah secara optimal, maka perlu disosialisasikan dalam pengelolaan limbah daun menjadi daun transparan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan. Metode ini digunakan sebagai bentuk sosialisasi yang sesuai dengan kondisi Desa Mekar Sari dalam memberikan informasi, dan berdiskusi bersama masyarakat dalam mengetahui dan memahami pembuatan kerajinan berbahan sampah daun. Sampah daun diolah menjadi daun transparan yang dapat digunakan untuk berbagai kerajinan tangan yang bernilai ekonomi. Kerajinan tangan yang dihasilkan meliputi rangkaian bunga, gantungan kunci dan hiasan meja. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dapat diketahui jika dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian pengolahan limbah dauan menjadi daun transparan yang digunakan sebagai industri kreatif ternyata dapat meningkatkan tingkat pengetahuan mitra dan keterampilan sebanyak 60%. Pada umumnya masyarakat sangat senang dengan adanya kegiatan penyuluhan membuat kerajinan yang bahannya mudah ditemukan dilingkungan sekitar sehingga mempermudah menambah keterampilan masyarakat dan dapat membantu dalam menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan.

Abstract

Bird pests in rice cultivation pose a serious problem that directly affects harvest yields and farmer welfare, particularly in Tamban Catur District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan. This study focuses on implementing an educational program and field practices for bird pest control through a participatory approach. The objective of this research is to enhance farmers' understanding and skills in independently and sustainably managing bird pests. The methods used include training, extension services, and field assistance, involving active participation from farmers. The results show that this program effectively increased farmers' knowledge of bird pest control techniques and significantly reduced harvest losses caused by pest attacks. This participatory approach is expected to be widely applicable in other regions to support food security and improve farmers' welfare.

Abstract

Cabai rawit ( Capsicum frutescens L.) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman hortikultura yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia karena memiliki nilai ekonomi yang cukup tinggi. Cabai memiliki banyak manfaat bagi manusia karena cabai kaya akan protein, lipid, karbohidrat, serat, garam mineral (Ca, P, Fe) dan vitamin A, D3, E, C, K, B2, B12 serta berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Namun terjadi penurunan produktivitas tanaman cabai disebabkan adanya serangan penyakit tanaman berupa Layu Fusarium. Penanganan penyakit lay fusarium dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan Trichoderama sp., namun masih kurang efektif karena beberapa hal salah satunya adalah waktu yang tepat untuk pengaplikasiannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas waktu aplikasi Trichoderma sp. untuk mengendalikan penyakit layu fusarium pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian dilakukan dengan membandingkan waktu aplikasi pada 7 hari sebelum tanam, saat tanam, dan 7 hari setelah tanam, aplikasi dilakukan pada tanaman yang telah terinfeksi patogen Fusarium oxysporum dengan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Hasil penelitian berupa adanya interaksi antara waktu aplikasi Trichoderma sp. dengan jamur patogen Fusarium oxyporum pada tanaman cabai, waktu aplikasi Trichoderma sp. terbaik untuk mengendalikan patogen Fusarium oxysporum terdapat pada saat 7 hari sebelum tanam dengan persentase kelayuan 5.98% dan pada saat tanam dengan persentase kelayuan 6.96%. Waktu aplikasi Trichoderma sp. mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman serta produktivitas tanaman cabai.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara penghasil kelapa sawit terbesar di dunia. Namun, keberhasilan ini juga menghasilkan tantangan berupa limbah biomassa, salah satunya adalah tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Desa Bangkal merupakan salah satu wilayah yang memiliki potensi akses terhadap limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit dari perkebunan kelapa sawit di sekitarnya. Namun, penggunaan limbah ini di tingkat masyarakat masih sangat minim dan belum optimal sehingga potensi untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pengelolaan limbah ini belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Akan tetapi Pupuk organik berbasis tandan kosong kelapa sawit mampu memperbaiki struktur tanah dan meningkatkan produksi tandan buah segar hingga 34% dibandingkan pemupukan standar. Pengabdian kepada masyarat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan tandan kosong kelapa sawit sebagai bahan baku pupuk organik yang ramah lingkungan dan bernilai ekonomis, serta mendorong pengelolaan limbah kelapa sawit secara berkelanjutan melalui penyuluhan, pelatihan dan praktik, serta evaluasi pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dilakukan melalui kuesioner yang diisi sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani di Kelurahan Bangkal mengenai pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah seperti tandan kosong kelapa sawit meningkat setelah pelatihan. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini diharapkan kedepannya para petani di Kelurahan Bangkal dapat secara mandiri mengolah limbah organik seperti limbah pertanian atau perkebunan menjadi pupuk organik. The Innovation of Processing Palm Oil Empty Fruit Bunches into Compost to Support Environmentally Friendly Agriculture in Bangkal Village, Cempaka District Abstract Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil producing countries in the world. However, this success also creates challenges in the form of biomass waste, one of which is empty oil palm bunches. Bangkal Village is one of the areas that has potential access to empty oil palm bunch waste from surrounding oil palm plantations. However, the use of this waste at the community level is still very minimal and not optimal so that the potential to improve community welfare through the management of this waste has not been utilized optimally. However, organic fertilizer based on empty oil palm bunches can improve soil structure and increase fresh fruit bunch production by up to 34% compared to standard fertilization. This community service aims to provide understanding and training to the community regarding the use of empty oil palm bunches as raw materials for organic fertilizers that are environmentally friendly and have economic value, as well as to encourage sustainable management of oil palm waste through counseling, training and practice, and evaluation of participant knowledge and skills is carried out through questionnaires filled out before and after the activity. The results of community service activities show that the knowledge and skills of farmers in Bangkal Village regarding the manufacture of organic fertilizers from waste such as empty oil palm bunches increased after training. With this training, it is hoped that in the future farmers in Bangkal Village will be able to independently process organic waste such as agricultural or plantation waste into organic fertilizer.
