Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the bee species, nest characteristics and identify the stingless bee propolis plant source from Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency. This research uses the purposive sampling method in searching nests, and the data is processed descriptively. Samples of stingless bees were taken from four hives from three sampling locations. The characteristics of the nest observed were the shape of the nest entrance, color and size (length and diameter), and the type of entrance opening. The stingless bees found belonged to the genus Tetragonula and consist of two species, Tetragonula sapiens, and Tetragonula fuscobalteata. The shape of the nest entrance varies (without funnel, short funnel, and cylindrical funnel) with black, brown, or blackish-brown color. The diameter of the nest entrance was between 3 to 5 cm with the type of opening (triangular, irregular, and oval). Nine plants were identified as sources of propolis in each nest, and two of them, Anacardium occidentale (cashews) and Schleichera oleosa (Kesambi), were found in all observed nests.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical composition of stingless bee bread from Kulisusu District, Buton Utara Regency. Meanwhile, this research aims to obtain information on the composition of stingless bee bread and the source of nectar, and pollen from Kulisusu District, Buton Utara Regency. The research took place from October to November 2021. Bee Bread samples were taken from beehives in the Forest of Kulisusu District, Buton Utara Regency. Determination of the chemical components of Bee Bread using a spectrophotometer in the Biomedical Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Halu Oleo University. The results showed that there were two types of stingless bees, namely Tetragomula sapiens and Tetragomula biroi. 14 types of plants have been identified as food sources for stingless bees. The chemical composition of Bee Bread is the average protein content of T, sapiens is 27.00% and T, biroi is 12%. The average carbohydrate content of T, sapiens is 45.57%, and T, biroi is 58.11%. on the average polyphenol content of T, sapiens is 9.88%, and T, biroi is 22.56%.

Abstract

Semua peserta meningkat pengetahuan tentang teknik budidaya lebah Trigona sp.

Abstract

Agroforestry emerged as a result of land conversion problems caused by population growth. Conversion of forest land into agricultural land will result in climate change. In anticipating climate change, it is necessary to provide outreach activities to the community regarding the integration of agroforestry systems in land use. Integration between forestry crops and agricultural crops is seen as an appropriate method for reducing food scarcity while also providing environmental benefits. Agroforestry is primarily expected to help optimize the results of a form of sustainable land use in order to guarantee and improve people's living needs, and can increase the carrying capacity of human ecology, especially in rural areas. The implementation of an on-farm research-based agroforestry system is carried out on community land. The aim of the community service program is to resolve problems faced by partners by conducting outreach and training regarding the implementation of agroforestry systems to anticipate climate change. The expected impact of this program is that the community will have understanding and expertise in mitigating climate change through the integration of agroforestry systems. The method of implementing the service program is socialization, discussion and training with the community. The expected target of community service is increasing understanding of climate change mitigation through the implementation of agroforestry systems.
