Abstract

This activity is motivated by the Church's need to prepare its people so that they can adjust to new normal conditions as a result of the pandemic. After more than four months the churches were closed, sacramental services were restricted, even impossible to do – certainly not out of fear, but for the sake of common salvation. On that basis, community service activities, especially the parishioners of Terentang, are carried out so that they have the ability to make hand sanitizer. This activity was carried out for one day with the method of conducting exposure and followed by training activities. This activity was attended by 36 participants. The output of this activity is that all participants have the knowledge and skills to make hand sanitizers to support activities at the Terentang Parish Church.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of implementing Problem-based Learning (PBL) in the Statistics course on the interest of Catholic Religious Education (CRE) prospective teachers students at the Sekolah Tinggi Agama Katolik Negeri Pontianak in conducting quantitative research. This study was conducted in response to the low interest of students in conducting quantitative research. In this study, student interest was measured using a 4-point Likert scale that reflects the highest phase of interest, which is well-developed individual interest. The results of the research show that the implementation of PBL in the Statistics course has a moderate impact on the interest of PKK students in conducting quantitative research. In the discussion, this research reveals that PBL encourages collaboration, concept understanding, and problem-solving together, which increases students' interest in conducting quantitative research. Furthermore, the research results also indicate that PBL makes the Statistics course more engaging and less boring for students who were previously hesitant about mathematics.

Abstract

Cognitive flexibility in learning mathematics is necessary to solve problems with various mathematical ideas. In completing assignments, students have different perspectives so as to bring up creative solutions that encourage problem-solving skills. This study aims to determine students' cognitive flexibility level in high school mathematics learning. This quantitative descriptive research aims to describe the contents of a variable in research, without being intended to test a particular hypothesis. The source of data used in this study was class XI students in Pontianak City totaling 173 people. Data is collected by questionnaire with data analysis calculating the percentage index results of questionnaire answers. Based on the results of the questionnaire categorizing the level of cognitive flexibility ability of students in learning mathematics, it was found that there were 39 students with the category "very high" cognitive abilities, 115 students in the "high" category, and 19 students in the "moderate" category. This shows that most high school students in Pontianak City on average have high cognitive flexibility abilities in mathematics learning. This data is supported by the statements of mathematics teachers who describe the ability of students to achieve cognitive flexibility, of course, with maximum effort in teaching. From a teaching point of view, mathematics teachers have certainly considered more innovative teaching techniques in order to grow these abilities.

Abstract

Pembahasan mengenai sosok Bunda Maria merupakan salah satu topik yang sering muncul dalam dialog agama, tidak terkecuali Agama Katolik, Kristen dan Islam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1. Mendeskripsikan bagaimana perspektif calon guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik mengenai Bunda Maria 2. Mendeskripsikan bagaimana perspektif calon guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen mengenai Maria Ibu Yesus 3. Mendeskripsikan bagaimana perspektif calon guru Pendidikan Agama Islam mengenai Siti Maryam 4. Menginvestigasi bagaimana persamaan dan perbedaan pandangan calon guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik, calon guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen, dan calon guru Pendidikan Agama Islam mengenai Bunda Maria. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara yang dilanjutkan dengan FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah : 1) Perspektif calon guru Agama Katolik terhadap Bunda Maria yaitu berdasarkan empat dogma; 2) Perspektif calon guru Agama Kristen terhadap Bunda Maria adalah Maria adalah wanita yang dipilih untuk menjadi ibu dari Yesus yang merupakan Allah dan menerima kehendak Allah dalam hidupnya; 3) Perspektif calon guru Agama Islam terhadap Bunda Maria secara rinci dijelaskan pada beberapa surah dalam Al-Quran ; 4) Persamaan perspektif calon pendidik Agama Katolik, Kristen dan Islam terdapat pada keperawanan Maria saat melahirkan Yesus, Maria adalah wanita yang dimuliakan dan diyakini menjadi penghuni surga. Perbedaan perspektif mengenai Maria antara lain: umat Islam mempercayai bahwa Allah tidak beranak dan tidak diperanakkan, sehingga berbeda dengan umat Kristen dan Katolik yang percaya bahwa Maria adalah ibunda Allah, umat Islam tidak mengakuinya. Selain itu, umat Kristen tidak mempercayai bahwa Maria diangkat tubuhnya ke surga, Maria dibebaskan dari dosa asal, dan Maria tetap perawan setelah melahirkan Yesus. Ketiga pandangan ini bertentangan dengan dogma Katolik mengenai Maria.

Abstract

This study explores digital literacy among prospective Catholic Religious Education (PKK) teachers concerning their ability to use electronic spreadsheet programs for simple grade processing. Using descriptive statistical analysis with 75 respondents, it was found that the average test score of the students was 55.51, with a high variance (170.388) and a standard deviation of 13.053. The analysis results showed that 16% of the students demonstrated low ability, 65.3% had moderate ability, and 18.7% showed high ability. These findings indicate a gap in technological literacy that needs to be addressed to enhance students' skills in educational data management. The recommended actions include intensive training, the use of peer tutoring methods, the integration of technology into lectures, and access to relevant digital resources. These efforts aim to create a collaborative learning environment and improve students' readiness to carry out administrative and teaching tasks in the future. This study emphasizes the importance of targeted interventions in teaching and technology training to optimize digital literacy among prospective teachers.

Abstract

Representasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh siswa, karena kemampuan representasi matematis adalah alat untuk berfikir bagi siswa untuk memahami masalah. Representasi merujuk baik kepada produk maupun kepada proses—representasi matematis sebagai produk adalah objek yang mewakili suatu hal, sedangkan representasi matematis sebagai proses adalah ketrampilan siswa untuk menangkap konsep atau hubungan matematis dalam beberapa bentuk yang menggambarkan interpretasi pemikiran siswa terhadap suatu masalah yang digunakan untuk menemukan solusi suatu masalah. Menurut hasil analisis penulis, terdapat perbedaan dalam hal pemilihan dan penggunaan representasi oleh siswa kelas 8 (KS 3) dan siswa kelas 10 (KS 4). Siswa kelas 8 lebih cenderung menggunakan representasi gambar dan representasi tersebut digunakan untuk merekam/menuliskan ide yang diperolehnya dari masalah yang diberikan, namun belum dioptimalkan penggunaannya sebagai alat bantu menemukan solusi. Sedangkan siswa kelas 10 lebih memilih mengoptimalkan representasi internal untuk memvisualisasikan situasi yang diperoleh dari masalah, kemudian menuliskan prosesnya memecahkan masalah secara sistematis, menggunakan representasi tertulis konvensional berupa variabel-variabel.

Abstract

This study was conducted to enhance the learning motivation of Grade VIII students at SMPN 2 Sungai Kunyit in the subject of Catholic Religious Education (PAK), which was deemed low. The study employed the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model as an intervention. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 10 Grade VIII students at SMPN 2 Sungai Kunyit for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through observation sheets and student motivation questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in student learning motivation from the pre-cycle, Cycle I, to Cycle II. In the pre-cycle stage, students' learning motivation reached only 30%. During Cycle I, learning motivation dropped to 20% due to suboptimal implementation of the model, with the success indicator set at 80%. After reflection and improvements, in Cycle II, students' learning motivation sharply increased to 90%. In conclusion, the application of the Problem-Based Learning model proved effective in enhancing students' learning motivation in the material "Jesus Proclaims the Kingdom of God Through Actions or Miracles" in Grade VIII at SMPN 2 Sungai Kunyit.

Abstract

Media manipulatif memiliki peran memberikan pengalaman konkret pada peserta didik mengenai suatu konsep yang abstrak. Media manipulatif jaring-jaring kubus yang kerap digunakan dalam pembelajaran masih memberikan kebebasan terbatas pada peserta didik untuk mengeksplorasi konsep abstrak bangun ruang khususnya kubus. Dalam penelitian kualitatif ini dideskripsikan mengenai simulasi penerapan media manipulatif jaring-jaring kubus yang terbentuk dari potongan persegi yang dapat direkatkan satu sama lain beserta masukan dari observer dan peserta simulasi. Dari hasil observasi dan angket diperoleh bahwa media ini antara lain memiliki unsur novelty dan mengajarkan konsep kubus secara tepat. Perbaikan yang bisa dilakukan untuk mengembangkan media ini adalah mempertimbangkan bahan perekat yang lebih baik, memberikan warna yang menarik, serta memperbaiki Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik penyerta media.
