Abstract

The library is a gate of science and a heart of civilization. Indonesia already has a Perpustakaan Nasional consisted of 27 floors and is equipped with facilities that are adequate for user needs. Apart from that, we need to see opinions from the community as users. Public opinion about the library is critical for library managers to evaluate services and facilities from the library. One way to find out the views of the community is by using social media twitter. Twitter social media is often used in channelling opinions or expressing opinions about specific topics; besides social media, twitter is commonly used for digital campaign movements. Submission of views and even digital campaigns on Twitter social media greatly influence the opinions and even behaviour of society in various ways. This study analyzes tweets about national libraries by classifying, positive opinions, negative opinions and neutral opinions. In this study, twitter data will go through the preprocessing, weighting, and classification stages. TF-IDF and TF binary are used in weighting in this study. The classification used in this study is Naive Bayes and KNN. Accuracy, precision, and recall values were also used in this study to evaluate classification performance. The highest classification performance using KNN classification with TF-IDF weighting resulted in the value of accuracy, precision, and recall of 83.33%, 79.2%, and 83.3% respectively.

Abstract

The Museum Music Indonesia is the only museum that houses a collection of music by Indonesian musicians. Located in Malang City, this museum has approximately 35.000 music collections of various types including cassettes, vinyl, compact disks, posters, magazines, musical instruments, audio equipment, and even artist/musician clothes. This paper aims to describe how the collection management at the Museum Music Indonesia uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The results found in the field include; Most of the collections contained in this music museum are obtained from grants from the music lovers community, collection management begins with the collection, data collection, presentation, and information to the public, the management is still done manually due to limited resources. With the cooperation and attention of all stakeholders, MMI can continue to live and develop as a preserver of the nation's treasures that are attractive to the community.

Abstract

Kecanggihan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telahmengubah perilaku dan cara pandang manusia terhadapkehidupan dan terhadap diri manusia itu sendiri. Sebagianmasyarakat pada era saat ini memandang bahwa segala hal yangada di internet adalah sebuah realitas kebenaran. Emosi menjadihal yang paling utama dalam menilai sebuah informasi,mengesampingkan fakta dan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmendeskripsikan bagiamana perilaku pengguna internet dikalangan mahasiswa. Informan dalam penelitian ini merupakanmahasiswa jurusan Perpustakaan dan ilmu Informasi yangberjumlah enam orang. Dari hasil wawancara dengan enaminforman, masih terdapat informan yang percaya bahwainformasi yang tersebar di internet semuanya benar.Kata kunci: perilaku pengguna internet, pencarian informasi, media sosial

Abstract

Evaluasi informasi merupakan salah satu elemen standar dalam literasi informasi. Tes CRAAP menjadi salah satu cara untuk mengevaluasi informasi, mengidentifikasi informasi dan menilai keabsahan informasi. Kriteria yang terdapat dalam CRAAP ini banyak digunakan untuk menilai informasi yang terdapat dalam situs web sehingga informasi palsu atau pun berita bohong akan mudah diidentifikasi. Dengan adanya kemampuan dalam menerapkan tes CRAAP ini pada akhirnya masyarakat akan dapat menentukan mana informasi yang layak untuk digunakan mana informasi yang tidak perlu digunakan. Tulisan ini merupakan sebuah artikel konseptual. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah studi pustaka yang dipilih berdasarkan sumber informasi yang relevan. Penulis mengumpulkan data dan informasi menggunakan beragam sumber referensi diantaranya buku, jurnal ilmiah, serta situs web yang dinilai kredibel. Tulisan ini akan mendeskripsikan bagaimana cara mengevaluasi informasi dengan kriteria Tes CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose)

Abstract

Adanya pembatasan sosial secara besar-besaran di masa pandemi covid-19 membuat mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Malang menjadi kesulitan mencari sumber-sumber infromasi yang ada di perpustakaan, sebab mereka tidak dapat berkunjung langsung ke perpustakaan. Namun, melihat hal tersebut perpustakaan Politeknik Negeri Malang tidak hanya berdiam diri untuk tidak mencukupi kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa. Perpustakaan Politeknik Negeri Malang tetap membuka layanan akses koleksi-koleksi digitalnya serta menyelenggarakan program pelatihan yang diberinama dengan “Kelas Literasi”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Malang di masa pandemi covid-19 menggunakan metode David Ellis serta sumber-sumber informasi yang sering digunakan oleh mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Malang di masa pandemi covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 266 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa kuisioner, observasi dan wawancara. Pada analisis datanya peneliti menggunakan rumus mean dan grand mean. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Malang di masa pandemi covid-19 berada pada kategori sangat tinggi yaitu pada tahap starting (4,0), chaining (3,45), browsing (3,02), differentiating (3,46), monitoring (3,41), extracting (2,81), verifying (3,32), dan ending (3,45). Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil analisis data juga dapat diketahui bahwa hanya ada 93 mahasiswa (34,96%) yang melalui semua tahapan perilaku pencarian informasi David Ellis. Sumber-sumber informasi yang paling sering digunakan oleh mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Malang adalah google dan google scholar.

Abstract

Differences in students' religious educational backgrounds impact information-seeking behavior in completing assignments in the religious subjects they are taking. This study aims to analyze students' information-seeking behavior in Islamic tertiary institutions in Malang. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods because this research will describe the conditions that occur based on the information-seeking behavior experienced by students at that time. The number of students who became the sample of respondents in this study amounted to 60 active students, who were determined by random sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the information-seeking behavior of Malang Islamic tertiary institutions in fulfilling religious subject assignments follows the stages of the Davi Ellis Model. The average index score shows that 59.98% of respondents often use the starting and chaining stages. At the browsing stage, the average index score obtained was 65.68%, indicating that respondents often carried out the browsing stage indicators. Likewise, the average index score obtained at the differentiating stage was 61.37%. The monitoring stage received an average index score of 75.83%. This score indicates that respondents continuously monitor the latest information when searching for religious information from various sources. The average index score for the extracting stage is 81.04%, which indicates that respondents are always selective in choosing relevant sources. The seventh stage is verifying, with an average score of 80.64%. This means that respondents always check the accuracy of the data that has been collected and selected. At the ending stage the average index score obtained at the ending stage was 84.17%. This means that respondents always determine the source of information obtained to be used when they succeed in finding information in completing religious tasks.

Abstract

Introduction. Community engagement is one of the ways to connect between academic environment and community. This research aims to explore community engagement as part of the course in the Library Science Study Program to match with the seven main principles of community engagement. Research Method. This is qualitative research with a case study approach on how community engagement concept is implemented in the learning and teaching activities at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Data analysis. The data was analyzed by using cross-case data analysis. Results and Discussion. The results show that the two LIS Programs have conducted community engagement effectively in their learning and teaching by referring to the main seven principles of community engagement. Conclusion. In terms of the community engagement, UIN Malang has more intensive relationships with the community because their activities involve wider community around the area. While in terms of the sustainability, UIN Yogyakarta shows a better-organized program as they assign the students to create strategic plans and SOPs by encouraging the community library organizers to continue what has been conducted by the students during the program. This community engagement program also in line with community service missions of the university.

Abstract

Introduction. This study aims to explore the role of higher education policy in planning information governance at the Islamic university, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. Data Collection Methods. The datacollection technique involved was depth interviews with LPM expert staff, the head of the general division of the faculty, public relations, and an archivist. In addition, to conduct the interviews, reference materials were collected to compile previous studies. Data Analysis. The data analysis technique encompassed data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Results and Discussion. There is an important role of higher education policy in the process of information management at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. This formulation refers to principles of information governance, which include definition of each party's role, the development of policies and implementation strategies in the governance process, monitoring and auditing of processes and stages of the governance process, information organization processes, and classification. Information, stakeholder participation, and the long-term viability of information governance processes are all important considerations. Conclusion. Information governance should conducted by the policies established by the relevant educational institution. If the information creation, processing, and governance divisions work properly, locating and acquiring information for institutional reasons should be a breeze.

Abstract

Background of the study: The existence of information management unit is important for the continuity of information life cycle. However, in reality, not all institutions have this unit. This research was conducted to provide an overview of information management at universities that do not yet have a special information management unit. Purpose: This research aims to provide a design information management that can be applied, especially at the UIN Malang or other public universities; especially those that have similar conditions with this university. Method: This study utilized a qualitative method and a case study approach. Through in-depth interviews with parties who understand the flow of the university's work. In addition, observations were conducted at other institutions with comparable structures to develop a workable information management design for this institution. Findings: An information management design at Universitas Islam Negeri Malang can be implemented with policies and division of work in certain units owned by this university. Conclusion: A workflow, especially for information management, must be implemented with commitment from all units involved, so that the absence of a related unit does not become a barrier to information management.

Abstract

Pusat sumber belajar merupakan sarana pembelajaran yang sangat mempengaruhi kualitas pendidikan di sekolah. Perpustakaan sekolah dapat dikatakan sebagai pusat sumber belajar apabila perpustakaan sudah menjadi perpustakaan ideal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat dan merencanakan rencana strategi yang diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kualitas pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai pusat sumber belajar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perancangan dan penyusunan profil perpustakaan sekolah, visi, misi, tujuan, dan strategi pengembangan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai pusat sumber belajar.
