Abstract

This study aims to develop an audiovisual-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) as an innovative learning medium for teaching poetry to tenth-grade high school students. The development addresses the limited variety of instructional media and students' low motivation in understanding poetic texts. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adapting the ADDIE model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected from tenth-grade students at a high school in Medan City using a needs analysis questionnaire and student learning outcome assessments. The developed audiovisual-based LKPD was validated through expert judgment involving both content and media design experts. Quantitative results showed a high level of validity, with material expert scores reaching 86% and media expert evaluations averaging 71%. These findings suggest that the audiovisual-based LKPD is pedagogically sound and practically feasible for classroom implementation. It offers an engaging alternative for poetry instruction and holds potential for broader application in literature education. The study concludes that integrating audiovisual elements into student worksheets can enhance student engagement and comprehension, making it a viable tool for contemporary language learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance learning quality at SMA Negeri 2 Medan through training in the development of technology-based interactive 3D flash cards. The initiative responds to teachers’ and students’ need for more engaging learning tools that align with digital advancements. The training program was designed to give participants hands-on experience in creating and utilizing 3D flash cards, using visual design and augmented reality applications. The process emphasized a learning by doing approach, ensuring active involvement from planning to product evaluation. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment of participants’ work. The results reveal improved understanding among teachers and students regarding technology-based learning media, greater proficiency in 3D design applications, and better integration of 3D flash cards into classroom activities. Beyond fostering teacher creativity, the training also increased students’ motivation to learn. These findings suggest that digital technology, especially interactive 3D visual media, is effective in supporting secondary education. This training is expected to serve as a foundation for SMA Negeri 2 Medan to continue innovating in educational technology.

Abstract

This study explores the development, validation, feasibility, and effectiveness of an evaluation tool assisted by the Blooket application for teaching fairy tale texts in Grade X of Sekolah Menengah Atas. Conducted at Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 13 Medan, the research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, encompassing the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved 427 students, with a purposive sampling technique used to select a sample of 35 students. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The developed evaluation tool integrates gamification through the Blooket platform. Validation results from material experts reached 92% and 85% from Validators I and II, respectively, while design expert validations scored 91% and 87%. These results confirm the tool's high feasibility and effectiveness. In trials conducted with Class X-12, teacher satisfaction reached 94%, and student responses—based on questionnaires—were 92%, categorized as “Very Effective.” These findings affirm that the Blooket-assisted evaluation tool significantly enhances student engagement and comprehension. In conclusion, the developed tool is highly effective and suitable for implementing evaluation in literature learning, particularly in teaching narrative texts like fairy tales.

Abstract

In this research, adverbial phrases in the Karo language will be discussed. This research aims to find out, analyze and describe phrases in the Karo language. Data collection techniques were carried out using reading techniques and recording techniques or listening notes and analyzed using formal and informal qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. This research examines the structure of adverbial phrases in the Karo language, using qualitative research. Data were analyzed using distributional studies, there were 4 stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion of research findings and verification. The research results show that (1) there are three types of phrases found in the Karo language, namely: verb phrases (FV), adjective phrases (F Adj.) and adverb phrases (F. Ad).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik pada materi perbandingan yang ditinjau dari disposisi matematis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 peserta didik yang dipilih berdasarkan disposisi matematis dengan tingkat tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada materi perbandingan, angket disposisi matematis, dan wawancara terkait kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan, yaitu angket dan tes, telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya serta divalidasi oleh validator ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disposisi matematis peserta didik kelas VII-3 SMP Negeri 8 Medan terbagi dalam tiga kategori, yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Peserta didik dengan disposisi matematis tinggi memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang lebih baik meskipun belum sempurna. Peserta didik dengan disposisi matematis sedang kurang mampu dalam memenuhi indikator meninjau kembali pemecahan masalah. Sementara itu, peserta didik dengan disposisi matematis rendah tidak mampu memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low motivation and conceptual understanding among the eighth-grade students at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Medan. The existing teaching methods, which do not address the students' needs or sufficiently motivate them, have led to a poor grasp of mathematical concepts, particularly in exponentiation. The "Teaching at the Right Level" (TaRL) approach, which is not confined to grade levels, can accommodate various student characteristics and enhance both motivation and conceptual understanding. Conducted over two cycles, this study aims to improve motivation and understanding of exponentiation concepts. Motivation data were collected through questionnaires, while understanding of the concepts was assessed via written tests, with both types of data analyzed quantitatively. The findings reveal an increase in motivation from 70.95% in Cycle I to 77.9% in Cycle II, and an improvement in understanding of exponentiation concepts from 80.63% in Cycle I to 86.9% in Cycle II.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan, validasi, kelayakan, penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis android menggunakan ispring suite pada teks prosedur kelas XI. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAS Istiqlal Deli Tua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang dipopulerkan oleh Reiser dan Mollenda pada tahun 1990-an dan terdiri dari Analysis (Analisis), Design (Desain), Development (Pengembangan), Implementation (Implementasi), dan Evaluation (Evaluasi). Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 34 siswa. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa produk media pembelajaran berbasis android menggunakan ispring suite. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dari ahli materi I dan ahli materi II dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memperoleh hasil persentase rata-rata 86% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Kemudian, hasil validasi dari ahli media I dan ahli media II dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memperoleh hasil persentase rata-rata 85% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Hasil respon guru terhadap media pembelajaran teks prosedur memperoleh persentase 93% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Kemudian, hasil respon siswa memperoleh persentase rata-rata 93% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sangat layak dan sangat efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.
